This is a vey nice hotel. Breakfast room was large to accomodate many and breakfast was good. One piece of advise...ask for a room that is not on street side. The police in Carlsbad need to patrol that road better for fast and loud vehicles.

The window seal was broken making the outside come in and with being on a busy street and a front facing room we heard all the traffic. The outlets were worn out and would not hold a plug. Breakfast was above average. Staff was pleasant, greeting us as we came in and as we left.

The customer service was great. My room did have a distinct oil smell that I had to mask with an air freshener. The gym also had 2 treadmills and none worked. Overall the room was clean, the areas were all clean, and everything worked in my room.

The doors around us were rather loud opening and closing late at night. It was New Year's Eve, but still a little inconvenient for travelers.

Despite the friendly and helpful hotel staff, the overall experience fell short due to outdated facilities and a disappointing breakfast. Notably, there was a lack of bread during breakfast, and it seemed that the issue was overlooked by the staff.

They actually ran out of room keys. We had to be let in by the deck clerk.
The custodian for breakfast was a bit lazy. He had one speed (slow). 8:20 and no milk. The milk, tea bags, and waffle batter were empty. He did bring out more eggs and waffle batter, but no milk, with a case in the back.

Excellent facilities, and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Especially the morning desk clerk, Crystal (?) who helped us make reservations for our next stop on our travel home.

Great hotel and location. The people running the front desk both day and night had great suggestions for eating and for things to do at Carlsbad Caverns. We really appreciated their recommendations and they were spot on.

We made a fast and fun family getaway, and the service and staff were just excellent! Super friendly people and clean environment! Breakfast was great had plenty of available options which if you have kids comes in handy.

The kingsize bed was the worst bed we have ever slept on! The mattress was a coil spring that appeared to worn-out! We had ask housekeeping for fresh towels, they were NOT going to replace them unless they were asked.

This hotel was nice - great location. Near some resturants and stores. Staff are friendly. Very clean and on the "main" street of Carlsbad

We booked a suite and as soon as we walked in noticed a fowl odor. Later we found out it was from the air conditioner leaking the water into the room and on to the carpet up to the bed but by that time it was bedtime

We only stayed for one night. The room was really comfortable, everything was super clean, the front office lady was super nice, and the breakfast was amazing. Will do it again.

We arrived and our room was not clean. We had to change the sheets. Dirty towels In two rooms. Our room that we reserved was not available. The room was hot. The pool had no towels. Our towels in the room where dirty. Had to walk back and forth several times. The front desk person keep cussing because people did not clean our room. Never staying here again and my not use Travelocity again. Worse hotel for the price we are paying.

Very pleasant staff and a great breakfast spread in the morning. The room was comfy, AC worked great, but the WiFi was spotty and the pool is tinier than it looks. However, it was a good overall value for the stay - would go there again.

Upon arriving we asked for a room on the backside of building as hotel is one a very busy noisy highway. Desk clerk but us center front. The noise was so terrible all night I had to wrap my head in a pillow. I would never stay here again.

Breakfast was horrible. No spoons for the cereal, oatmeal,and yogurt. Asked the worker if there were any spoons and she said they won’t be in until Friday(3) days later. The hotel is next to a Super Walmart. The hotel could have at least went and bought some. The most uncomfortable beds.

The noise from outside traffic made it impossible to sleep. I stayed here to get some sleep - not a good choice.
I’ve stayed at many Fairfield Inns and always enjoyed my stay but will NEVER recommend Carlsbad Fairfield in to anyone!

Found out, when we got to the property, that the hotel cancelled a prepaid reservation at midnight - probably so that they could make more money off other last minute walk ups.
Everything made worse with tired children sleeping in the car and a tired driver , who were left without shelter.

I look for 4 things in a hotel.. quiet and clean, free parking, free breakfast and a hot spa. First we were given a room that had a great deal of loud road noise. The young man at the desk kindly moved us to another room that was great. We discovered the hot spa was broken and there was no explanation as to why or when it would be fixed. The breakfast was a disappointment as there was not a great deal to choose from. The waffle machine was “out of order” but we were later told the kitchen staff just put that sign on it because they didn’t want to clean it. The reason being”short staffing”. Our room was never cleaned or towels replaced.. again we were given the reason of “short staffing”. When it came time to checkout we couldn’t find anyone so left a note telling them we left. We usually stay in Marriott properties.. this was our first big disappointment!
