The mattress was paper paper thin and when asked for it to be replaced we received a extra quilt, there wasnt enough plug sockets ( only 2) and there was no shower!!

Good base for local area. Chalets very old fashioned but okay for price for a short stay. Food fairly grim even though did not expect much for the price. Did not think you could get an english breakfast wrong but they did here had toast and cereal after the first morning. Canteen needs an update badly like an 80s school canteen. Beach close by very nice and Weston Super Mare short drive away going around the headland interesting drive.

It's been a few years since I have been to sand bay and I noticed a lot of changes the food was amazing always very hot not changing towels that was not good it meant i had to use the same dirty towel over and over even if you changed them once would be good the duvets were not heavy had to use a blanket the pillows was the same luckily I brought my own pillow no cleaning or changing bins was horrible the bin bags were terrible there was also a damp smell in the room apart from all that it won't stop me booking again it was my sisters first time and she has booked again for June all in all a good holiday

Everything was fine, entertainment was superb and the food was great too. The chalet was clean and tidy although it could have done with a little bit of maintenance. But will be happy to return.

We have stayed you lots of time now due to such value for money in a room that adequately accommodates a lovely stay due to its quiet location, right by the beautiful beach & surrounding area. Only gripe this time was we were allocated a room right at the outside end of village. But kept us fit I suppose 😉

Clean and tidy excellent value for money

Rooms clean but inconsistent with equipment. Some had bed side lamps, not all. Some had a teapot. Some good pillows others dead flat. Food is good and plentiful, excellent breakfast.. Entertainment good overall although few events cancelled due to 'technical issues'. Run out of beers again... This has happened before so bad planning by bar management!!

The chalet decor needed refreshing. Whilst the room was basically clean it wasnt deep clean. There was a dead spider on the side of the bath and cobwebs in several places. The net curtain had something spattered over it and had a hole in one place. Apart from the wardrobe it would have been useful to have somewhere to hang up coats. There was no bath mat in the bathroom. Some of the breakfasts we had werent hot despite the food only just being brought out. A choice of desert would've been nice rather than the same gateaux or tinned peaches. We found our way into the ballroom but then couldnt find our way out so signage would be good. We also didnt see any signs for toilets in the main building.

Although chalets ‘tired’ all were very clean, plenty of hot water and also warm. Food was very good for the money paid but could do with bring a bit hotter. Initially problems with Hotel.com as Pontins had no record of our booking. Several hours and phone calls later Hotel.com managed to provide Pontins with the relevant information. Would book direct with Pontins ideally.

Chalet was basic but spotlessly clean and tidy. Food was good and plenty of choice, the only drawback was that the breakfast was only luke warm.The entertainment provided was excellent so overall the short break was definitely good value for money

Very dirty and in need of refurb

We were looking for a cheap weekend stay, Where we could do some walking by the sea and wanted to see the place since the last time I was there was 50 years ago as a boy. The price was great for Half board. The restaurant was a basic self-service canteen food was ok and as much as you wanted. The room and bathroom had cobwebs and the bathroom needed a sweep and a mop. The entertainment was very enjoyable and had a nice evening.

Friendly place for a break. Warm, clean room in good condition. Good buffet. There are also two darts boards with oches, two snooker tables and two table tennis tables.

Was dirty bed uncomfortable food average

Great value for the price we paid £195 for 3 nights half board for 2 adults ,food was good, the site could do with upgrading , beer prices are on par with pub prices, This is the fourth time we have stayed at sand bay, good place to use as a base.

Check in on arrival (midweek) was confusing as the sign advised to go to the ballroom at 4pm, the women on reception seemed too busy to speak to us so we waited in the ballroom, as we arrived early. We went back to reception at around 3 to ask a question & the receptionist advised that check in was only in the ballroom on Monday & Friday & today check in was at reception! Receptionist was friendly & helpful & advised us on how to find our room 406. We parked, followed directions & struggled to find the block as it was tucked away & the only block without any signage. Our room was a tiny double room with just the main door in, no windows. There was literally just enough room to walk around the bed and open the door to the tiny shower room. This was also tiny with a small window and no shelves to put toothbrushes, soap etc The room desperately needs better ventilation as it became quite stuffy during the day & overnight & the weather wasn't peak of summer during our stay. It would be a killer during the hottest days we've experienced lately. The bathroom window was too small to have any effect. Most front doors were solid white, ours had a full length glass panel, no interior curtain, so let in light all night, from the external lighting which affected our sleep. Walls between the chalets are very thin, so every cough & conversation could be heard. Entertainment - facilities were fine, all staff worked really hard. Some older guests were rude to each other and some staff.

My friend and I, age 65+, were really pleased with the accommodation for our 2 night stay. The twin bedded room was clean and bright, as was the bathroom. There was a kettle, mugs and teaspoons along with a drinks pack with tea, coffee and whitener. The excellent breakfast and dinner we're self-serve, with plenty of good quality meats, fresh vegetables and salads. There was good entertainment during the day and evening, with lovely music, including dancing, quizes and bingo. I enjoyed a line dance class. All the staff were friendly and helpful. My friend, on a mobility scooter, had good accessibility. We will definitely return.

Our break was nice.

The room was in extreemly poor condition. The bathroom floor was very stained. The tap was broken ..The carpet was filthy and the room smelt stale and mouldy . Only one thin pillow on the bed .Built in 1947 this place urgently needs updating. On a positive note the food especially the breakfast was excellent. Hats off to the chefs and kitchen staff who are doing an excellent job for a large amount of people in difficult circumstances .Pontins management you need to invest some money in this place and support your staff.

Stayed 3 nights. Overall stay very good. Basic chalet, towels and bed linen provided. Food was quite good, bit of a queue at times. Everything clean. Pool was closed, don't think its opening anytime soon. Entertainment was very good, Friday not so good.

Checking in the 1st person I spoke to had a bit of an attitude , 2nd lady (small and blonde) was lovely, food a bit tasteless but over all holiday ok , bar price a bit over the top , my husband only drinks lemonade and squash, nearly same price as beer and this is the only place I no that charges got soda
