Beautiful hotel & very comfortable! Probably one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. It looks like a boutique inside & every thing is newly done.

This is the second time that we stayed here. Tbe first time it was just my husband and myself. Our son was graduating so we booked this stay for our family. We love how a lot of the hotel is preserved in it's natural form.

The hotel has a very beautiful aesthetic which I appreciate. The rooms have a masculine vibe with all of the dark wood. The bathroom door and sink are too big for the room with two beds. In my opinion, a smaller vanity and a pocket door would be better. Also the shower’s hot water was a bit wonky. There is a mini bar and tiny stocked fridge in room but no microwave. Each room has a eco feature keycard. This means the card placed in slot activates the lights and needs to be in place to turn on. Just a heads up, the elevator has minimal lighting. A perk of the stay was free coffee in the lobby until 10am. However if you wake up late or just prefer a latte, there is a coffee shop in the lobby. The only issue I had was the train whistle and horn that could be heard throughout Des Moines at all hours. I recommend some ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper like myself. Furthermore, everyone was super nice and helpful and I would stay here again.

We loved our room, could have used a microwave and the snacks in the room were confusing as we weren’t sure if they were complimentary or not so we didn’t touch them, no harm done. The staff was very friendly and helpful! We especially liked Zach as he was detail oriented and super friendly. Will definitely stay again if given the chance.

Hotel room was pretty clean. Lobby furniture is a little worn and has stains otherwise everything else was nice.

We loved the Surety! We had a quick stop through Des Moines on a road trip with our dog and so happy we found it. Beautiful hotel; very dog friendly and a fantastic restaurant on site. Also safe heated underground parking to leave our truck with bikes in tow. Great stay - will definitely stay again the next time we are in Des Moines.

The hotel was beautiful but the homelessness outside was pretty bad. Walking to park my car at night wasn’t ideal and the restaurant is all windows. A woman thought it would be funny to expose herself to my daughter and I while we were having dinner. The hotel needs more security outside and should have valet parking with all that going on.

This hotel is gorgeous and has so much character. The staff went above and beyond to treat us so well. From the coffee bar to the recommendations for meals, they were so accommodating and friendly.

Surety is a beautiful hotel right on the corner and parking garages and lots immediately close by. The staff are friendly and professional. They go above and beyond. Thank you

Beautiful decor and rooms. Parking is not included. It is $25 in a garage around the corner from the hotel. We didn’t get to try their breakfast because the cook didn’t show up before we had to leave.

The girl at the coffee bar this morning was amazing…w kids & adults she was so sweet. Checking in the young gentleman sweet as can be also.

We loved the vibe and friendliness of the Surety. The room was clean, modern, comfortable. Beautiful bathroom and aesthetics all around. The bar/ restaurant was cozy and had good drinks, although the food was underwhelming.

This was just an okay experience. The beds were comfy. The staff were friendly enough. The rooms could have been cleaned more thoroughly - dust in corners. The rug in our room was also crooked and had dirt on it. Not exactly the worst and dirtiest hotel I’ve been in, but the expectations did not match the experience as it came across as a luxury hotel.

Cool atmosphere and decor. The rooms did not have much for storage options. The bedding was great. There weren’t many hooks or things to hang clothing. Poor tile work in our bathroom so there was water puddling up outside on the floor. The restaurant and bar looked really cool even though we didn’t get a chance to try them.

The food was disappointing… over priced and you didn’t get much for what you paid for. That alone would not want me to go there again.. great venue, beautiful restoration but the food quality and amount was a hard miss.

I was disappointed. The lobby was beautiful but the room was small and the mattress was really hard, not very comfortable. The lighting in the room was to dim. There wasn’t a coffee maker for hot water and there was no place to put our suitcase. We had clothes hanging in the closet so that wasn’t an option. But worst of all, we attended a wedding and there was a speaker in the wall. We could hear the music from the lobby playing through the speakers throughout the entire wedding ceremony. That is a terrible oversight on the hotels part.It was definitely not worth the $500 that we paid for a two night stay.
