We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff were always helpful and friendly. The location is perfect to explore the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake, The artwork in the hotel was beautiful, and the rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The hotel was able to set up a great day tour to Halong Bay. Our family of three had a great experience.

We stayed here for a total of 4 nights, 2 nights either side of a side trip to Halong Bay/Ninh, leaving our bags at the hotel.
We absolutely loved this hotel. The location was excellent- just a few minutes (maybe 5) walk to Hoan Kiem lake. Staff were amazingly attentive, polite & friendly. Breakfast was excellent, lovely fresh fruits plus your choice of an egg option (we stuck to omelettes & eggs benedict), western option (french toast, waffle, pancake, croque monsieur etc) or vietnamese options plus a buffet with some hot foods, pastries, breads, cereal. We loved the freshly cooked a la carte options. The only very minor negative is that the breakfast tea is pre-prepared & not all that strong. I'm a coffee drinker so it didnt bother me but my tea-drinking partner switched to coffee at breakfast. They also have a good selection of fruit juices.
The hotel is peaceful, we slept really well in the very clean, comfortable rooms. I loved the decor too - even the lift is lovely & colourful. Hanoi is busy, chaotic even, so it's lovely coming in to the calm & serenity. We also used the hotel airport transfer services which worked well & saved any stress!
This was really a perfect stay - the staff were truly phenomenal from opening doors, offering local tips & managing tour pick-ups. Definitely 10/10 & I would definitely recommend this hotel & return to it in a heartbeat.

We loved this hotel, it is beautifuly presented with modern colourful tasteful art. We stayed here on three different occasions in March, in different rooms each time all rooms were clean with everything you need, even the small deluxe double room was cute and functional we only stayed one night in this room, suggest larger room for longer stay. Breakfast was good plenty of choices. Staff are wonderful very helpful, friendly and courteous and thoughtful, gave me recipe for ginger tea I loved. Staff members even stayed up to greet us for check in at 2 am due to Vietjet 11 hour flight delay. This is a hotel which really does seek to make your stay memorable. The hotel is well situated walking distance to major tourist sites and plenty of shops and restaurants. Great hotel.

The hotel was very kind to us. We have been traveling in Vietnam for 7 weeks and of course we have accumulated a lot of bags. We are also moving hotels a lot as we are constant travellers. The hotel offered without me asking to help us get our bags to the next hotel ; we went to the airport early and they also helped us we an early breakfast. It’s a great location and kind staff , recommend this hotel highly !

It has a nice rooftop bar.

The hotel location is in the central of the Old town HaNoi so you can walk any where from there. Regarding their staff, they do speak English and I love everyone of them that I had encountered with during my 7 days staying there. If you need either direction or recommendation, you just ask.

The staff here could work at the Peninsula! They are so welcome and helpful and could not do enough for us. The rooms are a little small but perfectly comfortable and clean. Shower and bathroom in good working order and modern. Breakfast is extensive and terrific. Many choices! Well located for everything you might want to do. Highly recommended!

Our stay was amazing! The level of service at this hotel is outstanding! We stayed here twice during our trip to Hanoi because we did the Halong Bay Cruise in between stays. The hotel held our luggage during our 3d/2n cruise. They even arranged rides to and from the airport for us.
If you like a huge variety of choice for breakfast, I would definitely choose the breakfast option. They have a huge spread of food on the buffet counters as well as menu items that you can order. Order the vietnamese coffee off the menu!
Loved the decor, the service of the staff and the food! Would stay here again!

Our stay at Du Lac startet allready after booking long time before arrival. Cloe at the hotel helped us booking transfer from airport, jeep tour in Hanoi, old town tour, and after arriving at hotel, everything was better than expected. So we can give our best recommendation to Hotel Du Lac, and specially thanks to Chloe for excellent service.

This was an absolutely fabulous hotel in Hanoi! My first trip there, and WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! From Johnny at the rooftop skybar, to Mary with the tour booking desk, the staff was exceptional! The breakfast was delicious, with a buffet as well as made to order entrees. There is a spa that offers discounts as well. Great location in Old Town. I was sorry to leave

BEST HOTEL IN THE OLD QUARTER
Best Hotel in The Old French Quarter, we have stayed at others in Hanoi, but this stylish beautifully decorated hotel is outstanding. Professionally run by General Manager Mary Duong & her lovely warm team. The Sky Roof Top bar is a great ‘chill bar’ with city views. The restaurant is open till late with a great menu & wine list. Our tastefully appointed room was on a high floor, view from balcony of the busy street, yet quiet. Highly recommend this hotel & reasonable price too!

A wonderful stay for the end of our honeymoon. We were greeted by Emma upon our arrival and she was kind enough to introduce us to the hotel. It is beautiful. Lots of stunning artwork and located in a great spot in Old Hanoi. Upon checkout, Ken and Mary were there to help us to the airport. We had a great time.

The hotel had promised to provide a taxi. But when I arrived there was no sign’ Hotel du lac . Consequently I had to take a taxi hunting for clients. I had zero confidence in this driver.it was a very stressful experience.

This hotel was lovely. The staff are exceptional and very helpful. Our AC didn’t work in the room but I didn’t bring it up with the front desk since it wasn’t a big deal with the colder weather.

Mary the general manager made sure our stay was perfect. All the staff were exceptioal and nothing was too much trouble. They organized a memorable day trip to Halong bay, and efficient airport pick-up and drop-off. Stay included a delicious breakfast. We stayed for 3 nights.

The staff is amazing. So helpful and friendly. Our room was smaller than others we’ve had in Vietnam, but we don’t need a lot of extra floor space. We were on the tenth floor with a window. If a view and/or external window are important, make sure to get a room that has a window, as not all of them do. The breakfast was in a smallish area but the food options were satisfying. A little less lavish than other Vietnamese hotels we visited.
We had a very early departure and two reception staff took very good care of us, and providing a take away breakfast.

Exquisite furnishings — even the elevator doors were painted with exotic Buddhist figures—
Staff - especially Lilly and the manager— second to none in kindness and helpfulness.

All the staff were beyond amazing. Probably the most friendly hotel we have ever staid. The location is perfect for seeing everything. The team were very helpful booking tours and telling us how to get to places in Hanoi. The restaurant is excellent and looked after us with gluten and dairy free food.

The staff was very polite et aware of our needs. The concierge at the reception desk was fantastique. He helps us to book activities, recommended us attractions around the cities. The manager was everywhere to supervise so all the time we can have access to him and felt that any need can be answered. For sure, on our next trip in Hanoi, we will stay there again.
Oh and the decoration was amazing. A stylish fusion of art deco with a touch of modern asian influence.

This was my second stay at this hotel and all I can say is WOW. The staff here go above and beyond to make sure that your stay is nothing but the best. The staff treat you like royalty from the minute you arrive on there doorstep to the very last second that you walk out that door and into your taxi. You can expect a wonderful welcome tea with fresh towels when you arrive after they’ve helped you from the taxi. They will ask you about your activities during your stay and give you the best recommendations for food, and adventures. The hotel will also assist you in arranging transport to and from the hotel which quite convenient. Oh and I can’t forget about the spa, they have the most unique services! I ended up visiting twice and had an outstanding experience here. I definitely recommend the ginger treatment. Breakfast, oh they have such a good tasting selection, especially from the ready to order menu. There’s a good selection of breakfast items like an omelet, french toast, and eggs benedict. You can also get fresh guava, passion fruit and watermelon juice which is so refreshing first thing in the morning. The room itself is spacious, and the mattress is comfortable. You’ll love the bathroom if you enjoy a good waterfall shower head. It rained our last day in Hanoi and the hotel provides umbrellas to keep you dry. I can’t express how happy I am to have chosen to stay at this hotel, if I ever find myself here again I will be coming back for sure.
