Very good
Old design. Nothing wrong rather then not latest design.
Soundproofing wasn’t the best between rooms. Blinders was quirky but worked.

Peaceful and beautiful
Excellent location, beautiful garden where you can see the lake both to the west and to the east.Very peaceful. Good restaurant with excellent breakfast and dinner.
Rather small room and bathroom. Small beds. Screen on the wall to connect to your own devices, but not working as TV.

A wonderful location on a wonderful island
- The location was really perfect! Close to everything, and in a very relaxed atmosphere. I loved the green areas and the possibility to sit in the library or on a bench surrounded by flowers and birds. - Wifi worked fine. - The breakfast was excellent, with newly made bread, bacon, scrambled eggs, croissants, and much more. - The room was well equipped with a desk, two wardrobes, and a good shelf in the hallway to put things on. - There was a kitchen area in the building. I never used it, but it looked good. - Possibility to recycle garbage. - Comfortable room temperature as long as it was not too warm outside (there was a small AC in the room). - Several types of pillows were provided. - The bathroom had a practical shelf to put things on. - There was a good information sheet in the room.
My main issues with this property were due to low performance for the large amount of money that I paid per night, and that I simply had expected more. For spending some days in such a beautiful place as Visingsö and enjoying the best of life it was perfect though, and I will most likely choose to stay there again. But here are the downsides from this perspective as I see it (I stayed in a small double room with my own bathroom): - The building the room was in gave a feeling of being in a caravan - not robust at all and with extremely thin walls. I don't really know why, because it looked like a proper building from the outside. It was a bit annoying to constantly hear other people climbing the stairs, talking, taking showers, shutting doors, walking on the floors, etc. - The bathroom only had free soap, nothing else - again a matter of expectancy. At least shampoo would have been nice. - The bathroom was old and lacked ventilation, and you had to wait a long time for hot water in the shower. The drain seemed to need some cleaning. - The room was big enough for one person, but for two I guess it would have been too small e.g. since it only had one chair. By the way, I wish the restaurant could offer lunch in the same way as it did before the pandemic, with a buffet!

Great view, great breakfast
The hotel itself (typical Swedish red house), the view from the hotel, The breakfast has everything we wanted and more (bacon, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, Marmelade, orange juice, fruits and much more) The beds were comfortable (not too soft like many other hotels) and everything was clean.
The walls were really thin. We could hear people in other rooms quite loud. The bathroom door maybe did not close completely because you could hear everything happening in there.

Depressing and not worth the money
The staff at breakfast, particularly the woman in charge. She was really friendly.
Really old, squeaky beds. No noise prevention between the rooms. The room nextdoor had their toilet next to the head of our beds which sounded like someone was peeing loudly right beside us. You could hear everything between the rooms. Ripped, beige wallpaper with the only decoration being a sunbleached picture. Unsealed holes in the bathroom wall after replacing the soap dispenser. One outlet for two beds, meaning you had to choose between bedside light or charging your phone. Cheap breakfast with tasteless cheese, cold eggs where the white was still uncooked, poorly mixed canned juice. I would not call this a hotel by any means even though they market themselves as one. If you want the reception in one house, a room in a row of connected cottages, and breakfast in a third house this is your place. It looks like it has been a hostel that is now sold as a hotel in order to hike up prices. Each cottage contained a communal kitchen. When I asked why it was cottages, the reception staff claimed it was a hotel but then gave us the directions to our room: "You are in the cottages with green doors". If it had been marketed as hostel I wouldn't have been surprised by the low quality. Having stayed at Mjölby Stadshotell the previous night at a much lower rate and with infinitely better rooms, service, and breakfast, the contrast was stark. This is a place I will never book again under any circumstances. I would rather not go to Visingsö.

Worst place to stay on Visingsö
The dinner was good
The room was small and not even a little bit comfortable. There was nothing pleasant about being in the room at all. I can’t imagine a worse hotel room in Sweden. Super overpriced (1500kr) for a night in what is basically nothing more than a hostel!
