We enjoyed a fantastic vacation on Barbados. The apartment was exactly as described. For people whobdoes not like to walk a rental car might be benefit
4.0
The apartment was spacious, clean and tidy with the added bonus of a dip pool on the roof terrace. It was a bit out of the way so would recommend a car as there are limited local facilities although chicken Rita’s was just across the road where you can grab a beer and a chicken meal for variety you will need to venture further afield. Miami/ Enterprise Beach was our go to beach for R&R and was a good 35 min walk away but worth the walk when you get there. As we were there for the cricket Eng v W. indies it was the perfect/quiet place to rest our heads after a day in the Kensington Oval as it is quite some way from the hustle and bustle of Bridgetown.

The place is nice although a bit isolated. There was no public transport and you have to hire a car. Another option was walking, 20 min to the surfing beach and 45 to the beach in Oystin

Beautiful location so near to Miami Beach and not too far away from Oistins, you definitely need a car to see the beautiful island 🇧🇧, would definitely benefit from air conditioning.

This property, booked at short notice to attend a funeral, was presented as described.
So pleased the apartment was on the first floor of a small block.
The sea view is fantastic and the waves can be heard in this relatively quiet location. A bit of competition with the cocks crowing and the sheep baaring in the morning. It all added to the caribbean culture of the location.
My husband and I are not new to the island therefore we can compare with other locations and this one is up there.
A car is highly recommended particularly as we did not see one bus on the nearby road that had bus stops.
Chicken Rita virtually opposite adds to the community spirit. The diverse customers from across the island means socialising can be effortless on some evenings. Exactly what we needed on this unplanned trip.
Sitting on the balcony with that lovely sea breeze that blows through the apartment was sufficient for us to relax.
We were greeted and shown around the apartment on arrival.
The complimentary refreshments were well received after a long haul flight adding to the hot meal available from Chicken Rita who also prepares fish.
We found this apartment to be good value for money. 2 bedrooms for the price of some 1 bedrooms that were advertised.
We had plenty of space to spread out our belongings and to get dressed which is what you need in the heat.
There are a couple of things Pat could add to the apartment which I will send to her seperately. They do not impact on the 5 star rating awarded.
The views from the plunge pool area on the roof is amazing. If we had time the lounge beds that were provided would have been used.
Thank you very much. We were on the island for a sad occassion cushioned by this 'just what we needed' apartment.

Coral Haven surpassed our expectations. The apartment was clean and spacious with the most amazing views, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
To make the most of the island a car is recommended.

Stayed in Coral Haven for 12 nights and we were very comfortable in the well
equipped apartment. Clean, spacious and excellent views from front and back.
Felt very safe there. A car an advantage. Marcia was very helpful on arrival and departure and Pat very quick to respond to any e-mails.

Located in a largely residential area, our immediate impression was that we might be a bit isolated. However, the regular mini-buses that run into Oistins and beyond appear every 10 minutes or so, are great fun to ride and the bus stop is only 5 mins walk. Dined across the road from the apartment at Chicken Rita's once but preferred Surfer's Bay beach restaurant, about 10 mins walk across an open pasture. Like much of the Caribbean, our nearest beaches were unfortunately inundated with Sargassum seaweed whilst we were there, so we didn't see them at their best - efforts are being made to clear the seaweed. Got the minibus along to Rockley instead, where it was pristine. The apartment itself is a very good size, with two well-furnished bedrooms and comfortable double beds. The view out to sea from the front bedroom is particularly memorable. The kitchen area had everything we needed and the laundry room is also useful. When the weather did get a bit hot for us, the roof terrace always provided a pleasant breeze and the plunge pool was refreshing and clean. Marcia was very helpful - but not intrusive - and very friendly. She was able to guide our taxi driver to the apartment, gave us a comprehensive introduction tp our accommodation, and arranged our taxi when it was time to leave. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable stay and I wholeheartedly recommend this apartment.

Coral Haven is a very nice place to spend a month. This unit is a bright and breezy 2 bedroom apt. We barely used the overhead fans and did not miss air conditioning. The kitchen is just fine for a self catering holiday, with most of the necessary tools and appliances. Breakfast on the balcony every morning was outstanding. The ability to wash clothes at the apt really helps. We rented a car, but the bus stop is about a 4 minute walk and will take you almost anywhere you need to go. Do say hello to the people walking by and hopefully you will meet "Tony the fruit man", and let him talk you into some fresh mangos! All in all, Coral haven was a very good base for a very nice holiday.

We were met at the airport by a very nice taxi driver named Joseph who took us to the apartment, Marcia was there wating for us she was very nice and took her time to explain everything to us. in the apartment There is everything you would need eg: kettle microwave haire dryer, washing maching. The view from the balcony is to die for. When you first arrive and your hungry you have Chicken Rita opposite (yummy) she also has fish. There are frequent buses into Oisten and to all the beaches. Oisten on a Friday and Saturday night is a must if you like fish, they also cater for veggies.the two weeks went realy quick but I will defiantly return.
To the person that gave a one star must be a very bitter individual you mentioned cockroches this is the West Indies get over it.

Nice apartment in a modern small block, really quiet area, Close to some good surf breaks. There was 4 adults staying & we had ample space was well equipped, good size TV lots of channels. Could benefit from getting wi-fi. Marcia meets & greets with lots of help & allowed us a late check out! great value we would stay again. Tony

The apartment was great with all the facilities you need for a self catering holiday. The apartment was clean and well maintained and Marcia was very good in arranging the taxi from the airport and to the airport when leaving. We stayed in Maxwell the last time we were in Barbados and just found it a litte out of the way at first but like everything you get used to it. We loved the plunge pools on the top and found them very relaxing after a day out. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives and will use it again when I return to Barbados. One thing I would say is that the walk to Miami Beach is not 15 minutes, its more like 45 minutes.

Coral Have – A Haven to stay
I arrived at the apartment only a 15 minutes ride from the airport, where I was picked up and greeted by the Owner.
On arrival the property was just as it was described on the website, fantastic location, excellent décor throughout and good links to the local, beach and transport.
The property has two very large comfortable bedroom, good size kitchen/diner and balcony. On the first day of arrival I was able to sit at the kitchen table and whilst having breakfast, watching the sunrise on the horizon – and what an awesome sight that was.
In the evening, having sat on the balcony for a long period of time enjoying the cool breeze that seems to permeate throughout the property, I decided to explore the swimming pool on top of the property, with glass of wine in hand – and what a sight that was, under the stars in the pool, glass in hand and being able to see the skylight of Barbados.
I was told that there was very secluded beach close to the property, which I decided to explore at 5am – it took just 10 minutes to walk down and enjoy the morning stroll. The sea was a little rough so did not get in but enjoyed playing on the beach
Saturday evening, I went down to Oisten to sample the fried Bajan fish and enjoy the Karaoke evening – again this is just a short bus/taxi ride away from the apartment.
During my stay at Coral Haven, I was able to explore the whole of Barbardos, using both buses and taxis and I found the location caused me no problems in terms of getting around – and if I felt like staying close to the apartment to eat, I found Chicken Rita was just a ‘stone’throw’ away, a place frequented by both the local and other visitors to the island on a regular basis.
I would highly recommend a stay at Coral Haven, even if it is just for the location, friendliness of the owner, public transport and last but not least the property itself.

From the window that fell out (and I caught just in time), the refrigerator breaking down on the first day, to the construction of the condo creating an oven-like-effect during the fall months, to the owner's refusal to make any accommodations to improve the fans, to not getting even a partial refund after moving out two weeks into a month+ pre-payment, this place was a nightmare.
It was so hot at night that I couldn't sleep. There was no breeze this time of year and the apartment is not as close to the beach as the owners (and the Home Away map) make it seem. Compounding the heat problem is that the condo is in an almost-entirely empty condo complex of condos that were never sold. So, situated in the middle of a cinder-block building with few air-conditioning units going, this place baked, especially at night. And if you opened windows, you were subjected to rain squalls or mosquitos.
While the layout and looks of the place are nice, and the rooftop plunge pools are nice (I think they're filled by rain water), the location is not very good for surfing (unless you have a car) and the neighbors watch you come and go, not offering much privacy. If you're female, the guys across the way at the Chickenrita's will cat-call you, if they're not drunk and making noise all afternoon and night already.
With no internet, phone, and poorly-functioning fans, this place looks lovely, but lacks the practical elements that make a place functional. Locals told me about the woes the condo complex was having---such as, since all the condos are on one water line, if one needs plumbing done, all the water has to be shut off to all units.
I was asked to sign a form to get my deposit back, but since I hadn't received any refund on my total deposit for rent, I refused. I had asked the owner if there was anything she could do about the heat---but she didn't care that I was baking in that apartment. There are so many other places with better amenities, more responsive owners, closer to the beach, that are cheaper. Go there.

My husband and I are regular visitors to Barbados and this is the first time we have rented a private residence in a residential area. The apartment is lovely and clean and has everything you would need to cater for yourselves, even two sunloungers per room which were very cost effective as we could take them to the beach in the car and avoid chair rental. It being on the second floor allows a great breeze and a great view of the ocean. It is really spacious and we enjoyed having somewhere to relax in any down time. Local residents were warm and friendly and often acknowledged us every morning with a wave or hello.
There were a few things we found taxing at times:
no phone: it would be useful, especially as local calls are free in Barbados.
residential noise: it is worth remembering this is not in a hotel complex therefore you cannot expect tranquility, but initally we were disturbed by the volume of music from a residence nearby. Chicken Rita's (very good fried chicken and chips) is directly over the road and on bank holidays (all day) and Friday nights (until about 10pm) the volume of music hit a level whereby we couldnt hear the TV. We accepted this was part of the residential experience and didnt get annoyed about it but it disrupted us having a peaceful relax indoors.
In summary: Pat and Marcia couldnt have been more professional or helpful, the apartment is extremely pleasant to be in and it is very good value (Barbados gets more expensive every year!). Therefore, we feel even though we had 'taxing' experiences, others may not, and the bottom line for us was that it has to be expected considering the location.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying there. Thanks to Pat and Marcia.

Having stayed in various hotels and rental properties on the island, I would recommend this apartment for anyone looking to stay in a quiet area. The property is good value for money and it is just as described. It is clean, bright and airy, with modern facilities. If you don't mind taking the bus to the main tourist areas, or hiring a car, this is an ideal place to stay.
There are beaches within walking distance to the property. Silver Sands beach is about a 5 minute walk away, but the waves can be quite big, hence the number of windsurfers/kitesurfers there. Miami Beach is a great beach about 20 minutes walk away and is a better bet for those that are not strong swimmers. It is just a few minutes on the bus if you don't fancy the walk. The nearest bus stop to the apartment is a few minutes walk away and you can get a bus out of the area going towards Oistins, St Lawrence Gap and Bridgetown right up until almost midnight and they run pretty frequently.
There are a couple of convenience stores within a 5 minute walk, although the nearest large supermarket is located in Oistins, which is about a 25 minute walk away (or a short bus ride). Chicken Rita's is right opposite the apartment if you want food and drink. Both the staff and customers were friendly and helpful.
The apartment has the added bonus of having 2 plunge pools on the roof. During my 10 days stay, I didn't come across anyone else in the pools at all. They were clean and well maintained and sun loungers and beach towels are provided.
All in all, the apartment is great value for money and ideal for those looking to stay in a quiet neighbourhood. Thank you Pat and Marcia! I will definitely be staying here again.

The south coast is the best part of the whole island. It's quiet and away from busy roads and tourist resorts. This means you get to meet a lot of the locals and get to find out what barbados really has to offer, which in my eyes is the best way to do it. The south part of the island has a constant cool breeze which definatly helps you cool off and helps keep the rooms cooler at night. But thats not to say that it is still really hot with plenty of sun traps and empty small beaches.
I've stayed in quite a few places on the south coast but this apartment has definatly been one of the best places. If you're into surfing then Freights and Southpoint are well within walking distance which is perfect. Miami beach and oistins is only a 15min walk away as well so perfect for going to the fish fry on a friday night.
If you're into your fishing then there are a couple of great fishing spots just down from the apartment. Pick up a cheap handline and catch yourself some dinner.
The #11 ZR vans run from right behind the apartments which will take you anywhere up the coast for $2. They stop at bridgetown ZR port. It goes past all the popular south/westcoast beaches, the gap, oistins and bridgetown so there really is no need to spend a fourtune on taxis or petrol.
Right opposite is Chicken rita's. it's the best fried chicken on the island by far. I could spend every night sat outside drinking rum with the locals. It's a very friendly neighbourhood and you will get to know the locals in no time.
I'd stay here time and time again as it is a fantastic apartment, at a fantastic price, in a fantastic location.
Thank you so much Pat and Marcia

This was our 2nd time in Barbados and this Condo was great! We were looking for a calm neighborhood not directly in the action and it’s exactly what we got. This Condo is a few minutes walk away to a little quiet beach (where we were alone most of the time) but at the same time, the great Miami Beach (Enterprise Beach) is at only a nice 20-25 minutes walk or a quick mini-bus ride away.
We spent a week at that place with no car and it was fine. There’s a nice little Chicken restaurant just across the street and plenty of other options (including the fish market) in Oistins; 30 minutes walk or quick 10 minutes mini-bus ride. Or, for further action you just have to stay on the mini-bus a little longer and get to St-Laurence Gap to go out and party!
The Condo is top-clean and a nice breeze is going through 24/7. We chose the bedroom facing back, to have a better breeze and hear the frogs at night and goats in the morning :)
We were only 1 couple so we used the 2nd bedroom as a big walk-in.. but even for 2 couples, it would work perfectly even if the living room is not huge.
So if this seems to correspond to what you’re looking for, this Condo is s great choice!
Enjoy

Just got back from a fabulous holiday at ..Coral Haven..The property was clean, airy, modern, fully equiped and had absolutely everything needed (plus a little more). property was as described in the advert and we were not disappointed. We hired a car for 2 week holiday which we found perfect as we spent a week locally relaxing and getting into the caribbean way of life and then a week doing some of the more touristy things around the island... We had a fabulous holiday and this house is excellent value for money, Would highly recommend for people who are looking to explore the island and want the comforts of home. Clean, tidy, well located and we will definately be returning to stay at Coral Haven... we are loved the home, The location is quiet and peaceful. The Bajans are very friendly and helpful. Even when we were lost one day we had two separate cars telling us the way ,but they were not pointing in the same direction! We got to see the real Barbados and were able to rest, relax and enjoy the unspoilt, un-crowded beaches in glorious sunshine and a warm breeze to keep you cool. Overall a great holiday we loved it. Very well organised and customer service was excellent.I would have no hesitation whatsover in recommending Coral Haven to a relative or friend. It is a real gem and we very much hope to return. Thank you Pat and Marsia
