The villa was amazing The grounds around the villa and the size of the pool were great. It is only a 10 to 15 minute walk to a great beach and 10 minute drive to Albufeira. The villa was kitted out with everything you would need and was cleaned 3 times in the 2 weeks and towels changed. We would definitely return
Maybe a few mosquito plugs but that was the only negative

Service was excellent from the day we got there, just had to ask. Villa was great in a quiet location but easy to get around.

Villa Barros is a lovely spacious villa in a quiet cul de sac in Gale , it is very clean and had everything you needed .Pool was great and am glad I decided not to pay for heating as temperature was just perfect. Bbq and table tennis table were good to have. Air con very efficient.
Some of the outdoor furniture is needing updated.

Overall we had a lovely holiday in Barros and your staff
were very helpful when required. The overall quality was
very good apart from possibly the cleanliness in certain
areas particularly the toilets, top of fridge and freezer and
under the dining room table.Considering the property was not let prior to us i would have expected better.
As your company HQ is in Maidstone it would be much
easier to do business there than to email or phone Portugal anytime a query appeared as it often did due
to Covid.

Villa Barros is a large well equipped private 4 bedroom villa with pool in a quiet location at the end of a Close and within walking distance of some excellent restaurants, the fabulous sandy & clean Gale beach and a choice of supermarkets. We have stayed at Barros a number of times & always love our time there. Staff at the nearby local Principal Estate Office, who manage the villa, are always professional and helpful. Would recommend this villa as a great place to stay whilst for the excellent resort of Gale.

We had a great family holiday at the villa - kids enjoyed the pool as did the adults and it’s fairly close to the beach and restaurants - a visit to zoomarine and mr singhs is a must

On arrival we were a little disappointed as the property looked much better in the photos. Although very clean and well stocked in the kitchen some of the furnishings need replacing. Patio doors to bedrooms would not lock, although the shutters did provide some security. The outdoor dining table and chairs had been well used and the chair cushions were threadbare and had holes. One of the umbrellas had holes and tears which didn't look very nice. This was mentioned to the office and we were told as it was near the end of the season items like these would be replaced at the start of the next season. It shouldn't matter what time you visit the property it should be in excellent condition throughout the season. It would be nice to have beach towels for use outside and at the beach instead of bathroom towels. However, we did enjoy our stay, the property was comfortable and in an excellent location. We have visited Vale de Parra numerous times over the last 20+ years staying in different villas. Barros was a little too traditional for us in terms of the interior styling. The pool was kept clean and the maids did an excellent job. Overall we felt the property's fixtures, fittings and furnishings needed updating.

7 girls on a 50th celebration! Having 4 bathrooms between us was fantastic, the villa and its grounds were immaculate. Girls in office were very quick responding to the one and only problem we had which was only that we needed another key!!
Would highly recommend to families or groups of friends.
Lots of lovely restaurants close by to walk to, the local Indian restaurant, Mr Singh makes amazing curry, we all agreed it was one of the best curries we had ever had.
Having a locked gate and an alarm at the villa makes you feel very safe when in or out of the villa.
We would all definitely go back again.

The house is big enough for 6 adults and 2 Childern.
Everything is well kept and very clean. The pool is clean and heated as desired. We enjoyed the daily bath very much.
The location of the villa is good. The beach is within walking distance. Since the house is at the end of a cul-de-sac, it is very quiet.200 meters from the house is a Indian restaurant, which is highly recommend.
The people in the office were very nice and helpful. The only thing that was a bit difficult was the many steps in and around the house with small childern.
We would rent the house again at any time and recommend it.

Villa Barros exceeded our expectations. The provisions left for us on arrival was a lovely touch and very welcome, very appreciative. Six adults and two grandchildren 2 and 3 but we all had our own space if we wanted.
Upstairs was allocated to our newly engaged son and fiance which was fantastic as they had their own space to retreat to. The other adult bedrooms had own patio area to sit and relax/read if needed. The Villa was spotless and cleaned twice in our week and also towels changed. The pool was also cleaned regularly. We loved the privacy of the Villa not overlooked at all and pretty garden with heated pool a definite must and used all through holiday. Little ones confidence and swimming skills improved throughout the week. The lemon tree supplied us with slices of lemon in our drinks.
Beach a little further than we thought took us about 25 minutes to walk (we are mid-60's). There was a supermarket about 10/15 minutes away and level walk, on our first shop we did get a taxi back, don't forget to get the turkey and lamb kebabs for BBQ they were delicious.
The restaurant on the beach Pedras Amarelas was superb, food and service was second to none not to mention the fantastic view. Price quite high but worth it at least once. The restaurant at the top of the road Do Ti-manel was also very good and just a couple of minutes walk away, very popular, lots of people were queuing while we were eating and were still there at 9.00 p.m.so must book.
I could go on with all the positives but have to stop sometime!!!
Our first experience of Portugal and Villa Barros together with the very friendly Portuguese people made it a holiday not to be forgotten. Many thanks to all, we will be back.

After escaping the horrible British summer, rain, rain and more rain, we made it to the beautiful Villa Barros. The villa was everything we expected and more. Spacious, especially if you bag the top bedroom with two balconies, but every room has a terrace and some nice nooks and crannies to escape with a good book. The wendy house was a hit with my 2 year old and he spent most of the day in there, handy when the sun was so hot. The indian restaurant at the top of the road is first class, non greasy and loads of choice! Beautiful beaches within 15 minute walk with beach bars and lovely soft sand! What more could you ask for.
Many Thanks for an excellent holiday!

We had a lovely relaxing week. The villa has very good sized living space and excellent bathrooms and bedrooms.
The outside space is very pretty with of course the lovely pool and a nice grass area that my kids could play on too.
We had the pool heated this year which I would highly recommend.
Everything was kept very clean and tidy and we would definitely come back.
The area is very peaceful and the beaches are beautiful.
Can't wait to return.

Absolutely perfect for our family! Very well described by owners direct. The property was spotless and everything was in good working order although we never found out how to switch the pool lights on. The maids visited regularly to replace towels etc. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone. There were plenty of decent bars and restaurants a short taxi drive away and a few within walking distance. The local beaches were very quiet and beautiful. All in all a perfect holiday.

Perfect Location for a quite break, Myself and my wife booked at short notice early in the season and although the Villa has four bedrooms the layout didn't make us feel lost with three of the bedrooms to one side, and the main bedroom upstairs with having two a balconies one north and the other south is perfect for those who love the sun. A very well equipped kitchen which didn't get an awful lot of use from us but has everything, but that said maybe some condiments will aid the weary traveller like salt, pepper and sugar, although the sliced pan, ham and cheese with the bottle of beer did make a welcome site in the fridge which is one of two in the kitchen, The pool area is tight enough if kids are running around, we have four so I have experience of this,I love the BBQ area and the fact it is shaded in the evening, nothing worse that standing at a hot BBQ getting burnt on both sides. the little outdoor bed at the side was a super shaded chill out area and great for a glass or two of rose before dinner. The Lemon tree was hanging with fruit and made a great marinate for my lemon chicken cooked on the BBQ.With the property being equal distance from the beach or cafe's and shops it made for a perfect location, Gale is a pretty quite small town so we had no need for a car to get to either beach or shops, although we did take a taxi from the supermarket with our first trip to the shops. I would have no problems with staying here again and only for the fact it's booked out for the summer I would have booked again for the whole family. Now I have to look for another property and will struggle to find one to match this.

Our stay at Villa Barros was really great, the villa was beautiful with a great pool and lovely views. We did travel out of season so not much was open in the area but enough for what we needed. There is a couple of lovely restaurants in walking distance and the rest were a short drive away. The villa was immaculately clean and well presented and the pool nice and warm.
We would definitely recommend the villa to anyone.

Generally good & well maintained villa; clean with ample space & contents for 8.
Problem with electrics & bedroom door lock but very promptly fixed within the hour.
Good service from property manager when required.
Walk to & from Gale beach a good 20 mins. & arguably not great for older guests.
Restaurants good with special mention for Sao Domingo in Gale - superb!
Closest supermarket closed for winter & nearest open one 10 - 15 min. walk away.

Our stay at villa barros was very good. Florence was my contact and was very helpful with finding a car rental for me, taxi to and from airport and answering all questions I had in a timely manner. The villa is very well situated, closer to the beach and restaurants then I thought booking the place. Very private, beautiful backyard with pool.... there was only two of us but could easily accommodate 6-8 no problem. I recommend this villa and or using the management company who is in charge of renting it out (Principal) Thanks to the owner and principal mgmt company for making our first time to portugal very enjoyable... we will be back and will stay at this villa.

We had a really lovely holiday at Villa Barros. We travelled as grandparents, son and daughter-in-law and 2 children aged 8 and 11. The pool was a 100% success with us all. The Villa was spacious and well equipped. The service offered by Florence Principal was excellent, she even got some shopping in for us prior to our arrival. Would really recommend.
