If you fancy a taxi more, to be faster or at night, there are many and they are cheap. A taxi costs between € 1 to € 1.5 within Santa Maria. Rental cars are expensive (€ 30-60 per day), but they can be a good option to explore the island or go surfing on the west coast. There are free parkings outside the Leme Bedje.
