The apartment was plenty roomy for two couples, with comfortable beds and furniture. Both bathrooms and the kitchen were well-equiped, and everything (didn't use the dishwasher, though) worked well.
The location is very central in Madrid, and it was easy to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Also close to Atocha train station for more distant travel destinations. There is a metro stop one minute from the front door as well. Lots of restaurants within a 10-minute walk (the Moroccan one practically below the apartment is very good).
Madrid is a very active city, so the street noise was noticable even on the 3rd floor, but it was not bothersome.
We had an issue with a leaky radiator during the stay, but communication with the management person and with the owner were very prompt, and the owner was there within an hour or two--on a Sunday morning--to fix it. Much appreciated.
Overall, no complaints at all, and definitely recommended.

Carmen's apartment is beautiful, located a short distance from the Anton Martin subway station and about a ten-minute Uber/taxi ride to Attocha train station. The apartment was clean and comfortable and we felt safe in the building. It was great to be able to kick off our shoes and relax in the spacious living room. Jose and Helena were responsive to our What's App messages and arranged for airport transportation. One thing I would recommend is when you arrive, ask them to explain how to use the washer/dryer. It was a bit confusing figuring it out without a manual, and for us, one in English. Would definitely recommend this property!

We love this place. The only thing needs to improve is there is no frying pan, no shampoo or soap.

Carmen was a wonderful host. It was very easy to communicate with her throughout the entire process. The 2 bedroom was perfect for our one week stay In Madrid. Due to the central location we were able to walk to almost all the key sites within 10-15 minutes. A great way to explore the city! There were two major groceries on the same block which made it convenient to get a little food for the stay. The apartment was nicely appointed and the building was quiet. The few full time residents we met were very nice. The elevator was a perfect plus especially with heavy luggage. We would book with Carmen again if we find ourselves in Madrid again.

Really enjoyed Madrid and the apartment was perfectly located for everything we wanted to do.

Conveniently located (within walking distance of Plaza Major, Retiro park, Puerta Del Sol)
Safe building with multiple entrance doors/gates
Place has all you need to be comfortable
Management is very responsive, organizing pick up and addressing little issues like an appliance breakdown.

Such a great apartment near everything! We loved our stay in Madrid!

Great location. Met promptly by Jose, who gave us thorough information about the property and Madrid in general. AC’s worked very well, as did all the appliances. There was some noise at night, but the double windows muffled it well. Would book again!

We had a lovely stay in La Latina. The apartment is comfortable and spacious with two full bathrooms as well as the two bedrooms and large living/dining room. We were near all the major sights and spent many happy hours in tapas restaurants opening onto pedestrian plazas and in the Retiro park which was glorious.

My family and I stayed at this property for a few days, and it was exactly what we were looking for. We were 4 adults and 2 small children, and we fit comfortably in this spacious apartment. It was clean, and in a great location of the city with easy access to everything you could need and within walking distance to most sites. Owners were very communicative and kind. Would recommend to anyone!

Really enjoyed the location. One bedroom and beds are a little small but overall the apartment, location, and stay was perfect.

Carmen's apartment is in the middle of all the main sights in Madrid. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go and in order to get to further out places, it was easy because the metro was literally right there. It was very comfortable for our family of 4.

We had a wonderful but shortened stay as we were ordered back to the USA the day after we arrived! Sylvia was wonderful - she greeted us with utmost care, didn't touch anything in the apartment until she had washed her hands. The unit was ready early, so we could get a quick nap before walking around the area. We walked to landmarks and markets, sampled vermouth (amazing) and reveled in the sunny weather. Location was great with supermarket just down the block and many small restaurants in the area. Having the elevator to handle moving luggage was awesome. would go back again.

A very comfortable accommodation, well situated and in an old building with character that compliments the core area of Madrid.

I’m not even sure where to begin. Firstly, I sent several messages to Carmen through VRBO before arriving that went unanswered. When we called after collecting our bags,as instructed, a different person answered the phone and arranged to meet us at the apartment at a specific time. She was 35 minutes late and her English was not good. (In all fairness, neither is my Spanish. ). It was a very scary neighborhood to wait outside at night for that long. She showed us around, and explained a few things, but did not show us how to open the front door of the building as someone else had been buzzed in at the time that she arrived. When we settled and decided to go get some dinner, and decided to test the lock and key on the front door and we were not able to open it. There might have been a trick, but we could not figure it out. We did notice that everyone else was getting buzzed in. We called the woman and she said she was home and too far away to help us. She said that she would call Carmen. We heard nothing for two hours. We were hungry and so decided to roll the dice on getting back into the building. Ultimately we got back in and then after midnight Carmen arrived and rang the bell. It was nice for her to come in person, but by that point, we would have been stuck outside for 4 hours. The apartment is relatively nice and there were maps etc there. It was a convenient location, but a very speedy neighborhood. The neighborhood changed very quickly, about two blocks away. I have lived in Manhattan and Philadelphia and am not nervous of city dwelling. This neighborhood was really bad. We decided that we would not feel safe walking home from dinner each night and so we left the morning after arriving. We never heard from Carmen again after ringing the bell after midnight, which really scared us given the neighborhood. I would not recommend this location for women - it might be OK for a few big guys.

Very clean, super location and accommodating person who met us to provide the keys.

Having never been to Madrid before, I really was unsure where our family of 5 (with three teenagers) should stay. Staying at Carmen's property was perfect! It was clean, safe, and had everything we needed - enough room for us, a fully functioning kitchen (dishwasher) and laundry (washing machine and dryer), lovely soft towels and warm and comfy beds. We stayed in Winter, but never had to use the heating, as the apartment was cozy enough as is. Booking, communication prior to arrival and check in was a breeze. The location was right in the heart of town, close to a number of supermarkets where we could buy supplies, a fresh fruit and meat market up the road, as well as many and varied eateries when we wanted to eat out. on the plaza at the end of our street. We could either walk to the main tourist attractions, or get on the underground train at our door (Tirso de Molina). Muchissimas gracias, Carmen y Silvia!

Very good property and walking distance to Puerta del Sol, Mercado San Miguel and other major attractions. Streets nearby can get a bit noisy at night, other than that, a good pick for your stay at Madrid.

This is a nice two bedroom apartment not necessarily ideal for 2 couples but better suited for a family with children. The second bedroom is small with two single beds and a window that is close to the ceiling and gives little light or view. It is tricky to open any of the bedroom windows as they back onto a neighbor’s roof deck, but fortunately the apartment has ac and the windows are frosted so you get the light (in the main bedroom) and keep privacy within the bedroom. The rest of the apartment is comfortable and well equipped; the kitchen is functional with a super washing/drying machine.
The neighbor hood is very lively, a little scary at night with a lot of people hanging/loitering around, but we were 2 couples and when we returned to the apartment late at night we were together as a group so we felt safe. There is construction on the road that the apartment sits on, which makes the apartment a little tricky to get to in a cab, which caused a little discomfort when first arriving late at night from the airport and caused the taxi driver to state that we needed to be very careful in that neighbor hood and watch our wallets. But it is perfectly located and close to everything central in Madrid and you can walk to all from this apartment- Player de Sol (5 minute walk), Prado Museum (11 minute walk), Flamenco Theater (15 minutes), Salamanca neighborhood (22 minutes) Palace (12 minutes) it was not necessary to take the subway or taxis at all.
For the price, this is a great apartment and we recommend it but keep your wits about you and be vigilant at all times around this neighborhood.

Apartment great. Two good rooms with good bathroom each. Facilities all provided. Great communication with owner. Fantastic central location. Only slight criticism, but not the owner’s fault is the paper thin walls between second bedroom and next door apartment. The noise was only apparent on first night. I would however not hesitate to book again and most definitely recommend the apartment.

The flat was great. The location was very close to a metro station, but you really could walk almost anywhere in no time at all. Very quiet at night for sleeping. Would stay here again.

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at Latina Brick. The apartment was gorgeous and super clean. The bathrooms were updated and the water pressure was awesome! Hot water was also plentiful (we have two little girls.) the kitchen was fully stocked and we were really wishing we had that washer/dryer after we had moved on to our second leg of our trip, in Barcelona!
The location was absolutely wonderful. So close to great restaurants, the Plaza del Sol, not far from all the best shopping and very close to the Las Ramblas street flea market on Sundays.
My only tiny complaint is that the hostel across the street had it's loud moments at night and the nightly trash collections were a little annoying BUT it didn't damper my experience.
I also can't forget Carmen. She was extremely easy to get in touch with for getting us checked in and showing us around the unit. The useful tips for the area she gave were also really helpful!
We would definitely stay here again.

Very good quality for the money! Cozy location, with all we need it. Clean enough not to bother us. We were four people, but it can accomodate up to 6 persons easily. We needed heat and it was a lot! In walking distance to main atraction, a lot of stores, restaurants and bars nearby. I highly recommend it!

Apartment was bigger than we thought....enough space to relax and spread out without being on top of each other. Very clean and well stocked with things we would need. A market across the street to provide anything else we needed and the metro was close by. I would definitely recommend this to someone!

Our family of 6 from Oslo loved our home away from home at Magdalena 2. We were welcomed by Carmen & Sol when we arrived. They made sure we had everything we needed to get around Madrid and advice on transportation.
The location is great. Quiet neighbourhood that is still close to grocery stores, good transportation and restaurants.
It worked so well for us.
We stayed 2 weeks and Carmen even changed the sheets on our beds and gave us clean towels for the second week. Nice touch!

We stayed at this location for one week in late October/early November, 2016. The apartment was absolutely lovely; modern, comfortable and tasteful. The location is ideal for anyone interested in being in the middle of the action. The apartment is well equipped and entirely suitable for two couples. The bed is large and comfortable (an important feature for those planning to stay for an extended period). The building itself is also quite lovely and extremely well-maintained.
But perhaps the best part of this rental is the owner of this apartment, Carmen, who is a truly amazing host. She provided us with important instructions about Madrid -- what to see, where to eat, etc. She also met with us, which was quite delightful.
We will certainly return to Madrid and will undoubtedly book this apartment again. It is a gem!

We were two couple that spent three nights. Getting to the apartment was very easy from the train station. We took a taxi since we were lugging bags but after walking the area a while realized we could easily have walked it. The apartment is close to nearly everything most people are going to want to see. We walked everywhere and only took cabs from the train station and to the airport. The check in process was great. We ran through everything related to the apartment and were given some tips on key restaurant and shopping areas. The bedrooms were decent sized and reasonably quiet. We found the beds very comfortable.
The kitchen is well equipped, although we didn't use much other than the corkscrew. The wifi was really good with a strong signal and decent speeds. We appreciated that the building has an elevator, and it felt very secure. The apartment is located in a good area of the city with lots of restaurants nearby, and we never felt nervous walking the streets, regardless of time of day.
All in all we found the apartment to be exactly what we needed and it offered a very convenient home-base for exploring the city. I would certainly recommend it and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We stayed in Latina Brick at the beginning of our holiday and Latina Palace at the end. First of all, the apartments are perfectly located. There are many wonderful restaurants within a short walk as are many of the tourist sites....museums, palace, markets and etc. Sol and Christina, who met us at the apartments, were extremely helpful with maps and recommendations. Both apartments were very clean with well stocked kitchens but we thought Latina Brick was a nicer apartment...smallish but brighter and seemed newly renovated. Latina Palace was definitely larger and, indeed, the 4 of us enjoyed the living room but the bedrooms were small and not as comfortable. However, it was wonderful having a home away from home in the center of Madrid.

This is a spacious apartment, especially the living room & dining room combination. Lots of comfortable furniture and plenty of room to spread out.
There are two bedrooms. The larger one is ensuite; the bathroom for the other is down the hall near the front door.
The kitchen has everything needed including a dish washer and washing machine. There is a rack to dry the wet clothing. Note that on the stove’s control knobs, #1 is hottest and #9 is the lowest setting, the opposite of what we would expect, which finally we learned.
Wifi is strong.
On the living room wall is a map of the area and notations for recommended supermarkets, restaurants, etc. It really helped while we were still getting familiar with the neighborhood. Many supermarkets, restaurants, etc., are within a several minute walk.
The apartment is at the back of the building, far from Calle Magdalena, but the larger bedroom faces a side street near businesses that operate far into the night, so there are occasionally some loud voices far below. It never lasted long so we just rolled over and went back to sleep. The other bedroom is always quiet.
Getting to the apartment from Atocha train station is an easy 20 minute walk. It looks harder than it actually is: Just walk northwest on Calle de Atocha until coming to a big statue, then turn left (west) onto Calle Magdalena until you come to the address just before a large plaza.
We foolishly took a taxi there the first time. The driver tried to enter the wrong way on Magdalena, a one way street, then had to drive all the way around to approach from the far end. It cost us 13 euros. After that we walked.
The location is excellent. The sights that visitors want to see are concentrated into a fairly small area, with this apartment near the center of it all. We always walked, never took public transportation. The streets run at odd angles so have a map or a GPS, or soon become lost. Buses run often down Calle Magdalena, even though it is pretty narrow.
We appreciated that Carmen or her assistant always answered our emails promptly with just the information we needed. We felt supported.
If we ever return to Madrid we’d stay there again.

I stayed at this property with my mother & two sons. Since I was traveling with a 73 yr. old & 2 youngsters, I wanted to make sure that we were within walking distance of the main attractions. This apartment definitely fit the bill. The only time that we took public transportation is when we arrived from the airport. It was an easy & fun walk to Puerta del Sol, Prado, Plaza Mayor, and Palacio Real, not to mention the great restaurants and bars. We even walked to the train station with all of our bags. The apartment itself was impeccably clean and well-equipped. There was plenty of room for 4. We hope to be able to visit again. I highly recommend this property.
