Very comfortable house with a fantastic view.

Tastefully and comfortably furnished house. The view was lovely and could be enjoyed sitting on the patio or inside in the sitting room. It was roomy and very clean.

Not a criticism but a suggestion that the patio furniture could be better.

Very quiet and relaxing

Views and location were the best. The house was warm and the kitchen facilities great. Main bed was super comfy.

The second bedroom too small and the bed not so comfy and was a bit noisy when one person moved. No door on ensuite. Would prefer a TV in the kitchen lounge area. Would like some paytv to watch the footy.

Ashendens was everything it advertised and even more and the location was awesome.

The most amazing and private location and only a short walk into Penneshaw. it was comfortable and had everything we needed.

The only drawback was the steep driveway but our car managed it fine

Penneshaw in May

The location is excellent both for staying local and enjoying walks and wildlife and as a base for exploring the island on day drives. Magnificent views over the ocean . Everything provided there was of high quality, clean and allowed for meals and picnics to be prepared in the kitchen or BBQ. Very comfortable warm bedding.

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous.

This place is fantastic. The views of the strait between Kangaroo Island and the Main land of Australia is wonderful from the settee in the main room. To sit on the verandah and have a quiet drink ( of any kind) in the evening or breakfast with dolphins frolicking in the gulf is just awesome. The beds are very comfortable, the main bedroom has a huge ensuite with a lovely shower. The family living room space is big enough to have a party in. (not that we had one :)). The cupboards are stocked with so many things that are available to use such as cutlery, crockery and even coffee, sugar, condiments etc. We have stayed here twice now, the second time to give our cousin from the Netherlands a look at Kangaroo Island and its wonderful attractions. Wineries, the Raptors, Flinders Chase, Kingscote, honey and eucalyptus farms are just a few. Penneshaw also has a great Hotel for meals and the people are very friendly. I would recommend Ashenden's to anyone who is looking to stay on Kangaroo Island. Thank you again Helen and family for allowing us to stay in your beautiful holiday house. We will definitely come again.

For our tastes there was nothing we didn't like except maybe the dead kangaroo under the tree. :)

The views were beautiful. The house was comfortable and beautiful it was a good location to the ferries. It was good there were games.

We did not have separate toiletries and having to travel to other areas on K.I

Ashendens is in a great location with great views. Everything one could possibly need while on holidays was provided by our hosts. And more! The house was clean and comfortable and our directions to get there were accurate and easy. Watching the ferry go by from the living room window was relaxing and felt like time stood still. We really felt like we were on holidays. Even the kangaroos visited us while we stayed there. We would highly recommend Ashendens to anyone visiting Kangaroo Island and would definitely stay again.

We were sad when it was time to leave!

Superb

Everything was great. Will try to come back in summer.

I have a movement disability and is essential that I have grab rails in the bathroom / shower. It was very dangerous without these, but I would visit again if installed. NOTE : There was a 'dead mouse' odor at times in the bunk bedroom.

We had a lovely stay at Ashendens, lovely view enjoyed it very much

spacious, extremely well fitted out, it had everything you could possibly want, close to the Sealink Ferry.

The bed in the Master was small and a drying rack would have been good to dry woollens etc.

Fabulous stay at Ashenden's on Kangaroo Island.

The place was perfect. Very easy to enter with the key and code. The driveway was a little scary as it was quite steep but still easily managed. The location including the birds, wallabies and kangaroo made spectacular views. It's proximity to Penneshaw, the ferry and a good beach was superb. The supplies were more than we expected. Fabulous place to stay. We would thoroughly recommend Ashenden's to anyone wishing to stay on Kangaroo Island.

The only thing we would suggest would be to have the decking over the veranda completely covered overhead instead of just the umbrella as it was not possible to sit there on a very hot day. However this is only a suggestion it did not affect our stay.

Excellent stay, great place to base yourself, wonderful accommodation and views and nature

This was a really well appointed Beach House. Had everything we needed and more. Well laid out and having the extra bathroom was a godsend. Beds were just so comfy. Location was great, isolated from other homes but not so isolated that you felt alone. Views were divine. We sat out each night on the balcony and were entertained by some Magpies and little Wallabies and Kangaroos. Had a visit by a pod of dolphins each day we were there. Just fantastic. There were walking trails leading from the house and an easy walk into the township. A visit to Millie Mae's in the town is a must. It was a great stay and we will return.

We had a small hiccup when we arrived but it got sorted and all was good. There was nothing we didn't like except maybe the Sheoak at the back which encroached on our view a little. Nothing not to like about this Beach House

Great Property

Very Clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Walking distance to the beach and town centre. Had the most amazing views with dolphins to entertain us at breakfast and dinnertime. Thank you Helen will definitely return and recommend.

Awesome

The place was absolutely awesome, has everything you need, great kitchen and living space, comfortable beds and a large amount of space. Spoke to the owner over the phone and she was great to talk to and very informative. The house has an amazing view of the ocean and the rest of Penneshaw while also being nice and private. Overall this is a great place to stay and hopefully will be coming back soon.
