Yes the hotel is a bit dated but I'd say that can be overlooked unless spending a lot of the time inside, the phones in the hotel did not work which was a pain. My main issue was the customer service.
simple request forgot a hairbrush, the front counter said they didn't have any there but would have housekeeping bring one to the room. Asked on Sunday no brush or housekeeping by Tuesday lol.
On check out day the bell was rung at 9am to ask when I would be leaving, I told them 11am. At 10am Bell is rung a few times then housekeeping comes in, I dress and come out they ask again when am I checking out.
Unloading ( two bags not much to carry for a short walk)I was told by the Valet that they could get me a golf cart as it would be a 10min walk. So I took the cart, after getting to the room I realized I'm in the first building from the reception not even 5min waking. So really felt like they were just fishing for tips.
Pool 7pm (close at 10) I asked at pool shop for a ball for the kid, visually annoyed we interrupted watching videos on their phone.
Valet request # wasn't working called and was told just come to the front and wait that they couldn't connect me to valet.
mandatory valet $34 a night. Later I noticed signs for self parking. I asked at checkout they said they opened it because of high capacity I told them i wasn't told i could self park and had a car that didn't move for the whole stay. Their response "so do you want to add this to the card on file"

It is not in the hotels details but you cannot use your car on site (they do provide a golf cart sevice to take you to your room). What isnt mentioned is the $20 dollars per day charge for the valet service (for them to park and get your car when you want it)

Very old and dated. This place has so much potential but the room we stayed in was straight out of the 50’s. The furniture was ripped, dirty and so old. Carpet was gross and the ceiling had water damage and was crumbling on the floor. The beds were clean and bathrooms were nice. No ice anywhere, and staff was hit or miss.

Valet Parking was $30 day, in addition to the resort fee! This was a surprise and there was NO way around it. I wish this fee had been noted prior to my booking!
Also, while the grounds were lovely, the room was dated
Overall, wonderful stay!

This is our 4th stay at this place. For our family of 7, it’s a great way to go with a kitchen and 2 bedrooms. We always bring a few twin air mattresses as well.
It also has a great resort pool area and hot tub, pickleball courts, tennis and beautiful trails to walk. It’s a great place!

Came down on a guys golf trip. Returned after our initial experience last year, and noticed that there had been some improvements to the property. Overall, this is tremendous value for a golf trip with the 218 hole courses right on site and also an amazing pool and poolside activities and café.

Property is excellent. Unit needs to be updated. Peeling wallpaper and fixtures are old. Was clean just normal wear and tear after years of use.

The Place is very beautiful and the service provided is marvelous.

This place might be fine if you are a golfer. We are not. The surprise when we got there was, you cannot park close to your unit. We were required to valet park($30 per night). If you don’t want to walk,( it was raining for the three days we were there) you must get a ride in a golf cart with a bellman. They were not always readily available. The valets were quick to tell you that they didn’t work for Saddlebrook so they would take no responsibility for facilitating your transport. The condo we stayed in was shabby and not in a chic style. The refrigerators ice maker did not work, neither did the ice machine in another building about 200 feet away, Not very convenient!

Valet parking only and they took 50 min to get the car. Also charges a $120 resort fee that was not disclosed. 1 night and used none of the resort

My room was great, mobility was difficult. No elevators. I almost got run over by an employee in a golf cart on the sidewalk in front after block 9.

The property as a whole was fantastic! Room 202 had some issues with the AC but it was not hot enough to cause any real issues. I would definitely stay there again.

Rooms are old. Courts are not taken care off. Valet parking is not for me when I like to go in and out with some ease.

We came to stay for my daughter's birthday trip. Check-in process was easy. The valets were very accommodating & helpful. We were sent 3 cupcakes & chocolates to the room for her 12th birthday. As well as an offer to get sno-cones & a cabana for the day - unfortunately it was in the 30's so it was not in the cards for us.
The place was lovely other than our rooms.
We had a 3 bedroom lock-out. There was broken glass, ash & beer stains on the patio. My husband ended up with glass in his foot from INSIDE the room. We called the front desk to clean it up & the maid showed up with just a broom & swept it all down to the patio underneath us!
There was a huge hole in the wall from someone prior to us, swinging the front door open, HARD.
The one tub would not work & fill up. The only shower would not drain & filled up with 4" of water. The sheets felt like paper...over starched terribly. All the kids didn't even use them. They slept in their own blankets we brought with us instead. And my daughter had a horrible reaction to the sheets & broke out in hives on her face & arms that were exposed to the sheets.
We'd like to stay there again & be able to use all the facilities, as it did look like a lovely place to stay in general but definitely hope they update the rooms & work on their housekeeping.

They just need to update the rooms, they look like they have not been updated since 1980- also be aware you must valet park for about $30 per night.

The property serves its purpose for sleeping arrangements but if you’re looking for a resort experience, sadly this is not it.
It has the potential to be great, it’s just not there yet. Upon checking in our first room we were welcomed to was dirty with all linens on the floor, no bedding, no towels outdated kitchen and rusty fridge. Our second room, once transferred was similar. The only difference was this was was “made”. The $30 a night on site valet was pricey if you ask me… beautiful grounds if your into golf. Nothing much to brag about… the food and drinks we ordered we blah… wouldn’t stay there again…

Water did not work, could not shower, phones did not work, could not call front desk. Valet just watched my pregnant wife lift heavy luggage while doing nothing. Trainee staff was rude as well

Horrible! Everything about it.

Was not made aware that shuttle to room was required until check in. back sliding door would not lock - called for maintenance- - - waited until 10:00 Pm then made repairs myself.

This was a beautiful resort, packed full of amenities with a staff that was so friendly and accommodating!! Some of the units are a little out of date, but I didn't mind the classic resort charm! I will definitely be going back!!
6.0
Zero room service even after repeated requests.
Too many hidden fees - valet mandatory, resort fees for no real services, pool was not warm, gold and tennis closed earlier than time posted each day.

The pictures on the website does not match how it looks in person. The room smelt like old cigars, and it had nets in the shower. One of the showers had no hot water. Customer service was horrible trying to get somebody to bring me and my kids wash cloths. We went to eat breakfast at the restaurant on Christmas Day and the hostess made me and my kids not feel welcomed. He did not welcome us and we had reservations at the resort. The bartender Erin was so helpful to me and my kids and she apologized and made my kids feel welcomed with her services and she was just the bartender. Our last day there we couldn’t even get a bellman to drive us to the lobby to check out with our luggage. We ended up walking half way there with our luggage and then he came to pick us up. They charge you for Vallet but when you text the number for your car to be ready it takes forever for them to bring your vehicle. Before checking out I met Lane he worked behind the front desk at the lobby and his assistant was very helpful. At least someone had kindness and courtesy. Last but not least the Jacuzzi was under construction. You’d think they would have told you that during check in. The weather was bad and we’d at least wanted to get in some type of water. We ran so fast out that place and no one can pay me to go back.

No self parking, had to pay $30.00 a night.

The room was spacious and very clean. The bedding and mattresses were comfortable.

Had ants in 823 also you have to pay 30 dollars a day for valet and 30 a day in resort fees that's not in the total you will see in check out!

Huge, beautiful resort. Good selection of activities, decent Wi-Fi (free), the bed was fairly comfortable
I booked a King Suite. It was spacious and clean, but only half of the electrical outlets worked, all of the appliances appear to be from the 90's, the picture quality on the TV's was not good, and the TV offers the ability to cast your screen to it over Wi-Fi but it refuses to actually work. The room and facilities felt fairly dated. Even though there are 3 pools, there is no outdoor hot tub, I suspect so they can convince you to use the whirlpool tubs in the spa. No self parking, only valet parking.
Overall I enjoyed my stay, but for the price it could have been better.

The grounds are very nice, but the buildings are definitely dated. Service varied wildly… The valets were excellent, quick, and very polite. The reception staff, not so much.

I stayed at this resort as a last minute resort since I was flying out of Tampa. Upon arriving I went to the newly renovated pool, which was very nice. I enjoyed my time at the pool with friends.
The staff were friendly and polite, but I didn’t like that at checkin I was asked if I need 1 or 2 keys and there were lots of men around listening for my response. Then again, while waiting on the golf cart to take me to my room, my room was announced in front of the crowd of people 3 times. As a woman who travels alone, this made me very uncomfortable. When arriving in my room, I realized the rooms need much upgrading. The door to the room doesn’t have a safety latch and the back sliding door wouldn’t lock. The smoke detector looked like a camera and flashed just over my bed all night. At 3am I heard something outside of my door that wouldn’t go away(which could’ve been an animal) that really freaked me out. Needless to say I didn’t get much sleep and left for the airport hours earlier than I needed to that morning, since I didn’t feel safe. I would visit the resort again only after rooms are upgraded with additional safety components.

We liked the atmosphere, pool, studio apartment like rooms and the golf courses. We didn't like that there were a couple of large cockroaches in the room. We understand that is pretty normal for the Tampa area but it just sucked.

The bell service at the resort is not accommodating to Deaf individuals. They are required to call the front desk through a third party to request bell service, and then wait for the bellman to arrive. This has caused some individuals to be late for conferences or other important events. Additionally, when I requested parking, I was informed that only valet parking was available. I asked if I could park my car myself, but was told that it was not allowed. On the second night of my stay, I asked a friend to move my car out of the resort, but I was still charged for the third day of valet parking., but was told that it was not allowed. On the second night of my stay, I asked a friend to move my car out of the resort, but I was still charged for the third day of valet parking.

The food was very good, and the golf course and lakes were very beautiful surroundings. Cleaning of the rooms could have been better.

The property was very clean. Very well taken care of and manicured. It could use better lighting while driving down the main road. The villa we had was a little outdated, the first villa AC wasn’t working properly. However the staff was efficient in transferring us to a villa across the street. I didn’t like that I couldn’t connect a dvd player to the TV for my autistic son, who likes to watch his favorite movies. We did have to call maintenance to come and fix the service on the televisions because it said the service wasn’t available. They did come and take care of the problem. I didn’t necessarily like that we had to valet park our vehicle. Had I known that I probably would’ve not visited this property, however the staff was nice and helpful. Overall I don’t think I’ll be staying here again. Just not our preference when it comes down to it. Again staff was very nice.
