We understand that the former Shilo Inn is under major renovation, but the room that we were put is was not very clean and looked quite shaby.. We hope that the next time we stay it will be better. We love the loation and the staff have always been very nice. The lobby is looking gorgeous and excited to see how the hotel is going to look in the future.

The homophobic desk clerk annoyed me & the breakfast was holocaust starvation-style.

AC/Heater in room was very loud and old. The toilet ran on/off all night. The bathroom door wouldn’t open and shut due too the NEWLY installed tile floor. The window blind only covers 95% of window and lets a lot of light in from the parking lot.

Probably is at nice location on the river, not many river view rooms.
Currently property is under renovation, so noise level is high, cleanliness & appearance is low.

We stay at your motel quite frequently for a get away. We like the new renovation but our favorite rooms are now too small! They crammed two queen beds in all the rooms facing the river! It is so cramped and just not comfortable at all. All the king beds are now facing the parking lot. Not so good. Why not take a few rooms with a view and put king beds in them? Just an idea. Either way thank you to the manager for trying to accommodate us during remodel. Doug did a wonderful job of moving us when some extremely noisey and angry people got a room next to ours. Hats off to all the staff great folks. We love this motel just not the rooms anymore. Hopefully you can remedy this? Thank you for your amazingly good service! Nick

the property is under construction. the room, we expected didn't come with view, we had to change rooms. the second room had cobwebs around the ceiling and stains on the furniture. we got a flat tire from the construction and I got food poisoning from the on-site restaurant... not the best anniversary trip we've ever had.

I came for a girls' weekend and stayed in a room with a girlfriend. Our room was much nicer than our friends' room next to us. I am really glad to see that the hotel is being updated and I can't wait to see what the final result looks like.

Newly renovated. Bed very nice

TV Cable Channels were frozen
Door Jam at bathroom was missing and a nail was exposed
Food in dining area was poor at best for the price
No soap, shampoo in holders
The reservations said river view, but it was not!
The lady at the front desk in the morning was “stand off ish” and acted like we were a pain!
I’ve never complained about a place I’ve stayed before, but this was poor at it’s best!

The staff was friendly and the location was quiet and comfortable. Our room had a full trash can under the suite sink however and the local TV channels were frozen during our entire stay. Our overall stay however was pleasant and we will stay here as we have stayed here several times before.

Construction on property but a decent quiet hotel on our tour of the Pacific Northwest!

All I can say is I hope the renovations will help them. Everything was in disarray.

Close to freeway...too close to noisy traffic.
Pricing should reflect the renovation.

Renovations were being done to the front lobby, but our stay was still very pleasant. Clean, quiet, comfortable room. Excellent service and very friendly waitresses at the restaurant. And the room rate was fantastic. We will stay here again.

The hotel was under construction. No signs where the lobby was. The morning breakfast was terrible. There were no food items left. And there was no coffee. Nobody refilled the food items and the coffee. We had to run next door to a fast food restaurant to just get some breakfast.

Sept 16/17th had Construction all day long until 7:45p even on Sunday night, nail guns, saws, tile saws we couldn’t hear to check in? I feel sorry for the employees trying to check us in between the tile saw… electric cords and air lines across entry walk ways to check in area… totally unsafe! An elderly woman got caught up in the lines very scary… I asked for a manager no response so far… our room 214 smelled like urine and carpets are sticky and stained should have left the room but no other rooms available so my wife sprayed the rugs and floors with Lysol bad stay! Don’t stay here! I must say that the staff was friendly and seemed to be embarrassed of the unsafe condition the guests are being subjected to… Tim

Hotel is under renovations...so a little inconvenient upon parking for check-in at this time & Entrance not clearly marked.

Under construction but was not a problem. Issue was our drain for the shower didn't drain well. Other than that no complaints, can tell they are renovating.

With the construction going on it was unsafe getting in and out. Other than that, it was excellent all the way around.

Hotel was convenient on our travel. They were doing construction and on the outer entrance to the building had caution tape blocking the lobby area. People were smoking right outside our room making it hard for us to sleep and breath at times.
5.0
Despite major construction to walk through checkin was relatively easy even though it was all done from a temporary desk in an empty room surrounded by plastic walls. Our room was clean and comfortable but next to be on the upgrade list.

Easy to find. Still smelled smoky, but I get that. A/C was noisy.

The remodeling made the property nearly unworkable. I waited in line for over an hour to get registered. The room and bed were good, but the floor wasn't cleaned well. The breakfast was bare bones and there were no tables or chairs, so had to try to carry it back to the room through locked doors with our hands full. We should have been informed of these problems when we were making reservations, or better yet, it the motel should have closed until able to provide adequate service!!!

Staff was friendly. For a newly renovated room..less than impressed. No place to hang anything, no shelf & pole, door seals installed very poorly, drywall was blotchy before paint so….photographs thru.

I would steer clear of this place, unless you want to experience a night in a homeless camp. Very unsafe. We had 4 nights scheduled and cancelled the last 2 on the first day. There are homeless people walking through the courtyard and parking lot all hours of the day and night. The 2nd morning the police were at the room next door with guns drawn because someone had broke in and been staying in the room and refused to leave and saying he had a gun. Swat teem arrived along with at least 30 more cops. We got evacuated out of our room by screaming cops. Children are traumatized. Cops in riot gear and shotguns everywhere. Not a single warning from the staff to tell us what was going on. They should have cleared the rooms next to the incident prior to the cops coming in. We couldn't even leave because our belongings were still in room and the cops had the whole area blocked off. 2 hours later we were finally allowed in to grab our stuff and leave. The unbelievable part is Shiloh inns won't even refund our stay. They care zero about there customers. Took 7 phone calls and over a week to even get the manager on the phone. Worst hotel experience ever. They said a free room isn't going to un traumatize your children! And it's not our fault.

This property is under construction, but there is nothing posted anywhere in the hotel or online. There were hundreds of nails all over the front entrance and where breakfast was being served. It looked like it should have been closed. There were no signs, no clear pathways, and no words of apology or help from staff.
The staff didn’t pick up the phone when we called the front desk for clean sheets, because the sheets smelled like pee and smoke when we arrived…we called 6 times and asked for maid service. We used the maid service sign, only to be told that we have to come and tell them or call them to get that service (which we did and still did not receive that service). The woman at the front was rudely insinuating that I should just know to come and tell them I needed something rather than calling.
Because of the construction the hotel is very noisy and it was hard to sleep past 8:00. Our room smell was so bad that we had to buy air freshener.
My family has stayed here two other times and this was very disappointing.

The whole lobby was under construction and messy. The toilet in our room leaked. Our key card only worked half of the time

Room was being remodeled with no hair dryer, towel racks, clothes rack. Their best feature is the on-site restaurant. Buffet Breakfast was messy, messy put on banquet tables in the lobby. No one cleaned the tables and same items everyday.

The Shilo Inn is under renovation, which impacted the lobby and breakfast. However, our room was recently completed - very nicely updated, clean, and modern. The on site bar and grill is excellent. We look forward to staying again.

Our rooms were clean and comfortable. Had a fridge and microwave. The property itself was beautiful and great for walking our dog. Friendly staff. Recommend.

The staff was great, bed was comfy. Issue was the remodel situation. It would have been nice to know in advance.
Our room had a strong smell of paint and the entry to the building had a key entry but the door didn't close all the way. Defeats the purpose of safety. Our airconditioner was super loud.

We ordered a river view room, the room we got looked out at the parking lot. It was late so we didn't bother to complain. The room was clean. Everything was dated and you could see where the paint was peeling off in the bathroom (doors). It was functionally just fine, just visually felt like no one has been re-investing in the property. The free breakfast really was terrible. Just biscuits and gravy, some bagels, and juice. The biscuits looked fresh, but the gravy was just a giant brown mess in a container on the table. This type of breakfast really is just starch and fat - I just can't eat that way, and neither should anyone else. No proteins of any kind - not even powdered eggs, which I wouldn't have eaten either. You can do things like waffles or pancakes with some fruit relatively inexpensively. You need to dress it up too. People eat with their eyes first. It is not enough just to pile stuff on the table. There is new construction out front, which will probably be good, when it is finished. Right now, it just adds to the rough appearance. There was a guy eating a massive sandwich right on the counter at check-in. He appeared to be a friend of the hotel or the person checking us in. This was really not an appropriate place for him to be eating, and it added to the (lasting) first impression of the hotel.
