Keys didn’t work. Went back and was told to put them the opposite direction of the arrows. Room was old and smelled funky. There was a used towel hanging in the armoire.

The room had not been cleaned before we got there. There was still garbage in the trash cans the beds were not even made and there were towels on the bathroom floor. There was food in the fridge still and garbage under the bed it was disgusting

This is our favorite pet friendly hotel to stay at in the Coos Bay/North Bend area. It’s clean and the rooms are open & not cramped. Prices are generally fair for the area. Rooms are slightly dated, bathrooms are cramped & outdoor pool/hot tub not open in the winter. Free breakfast is continental. Nice doggy swag bag provided at check in.

I had stayed at this Red Lion several years ago. There was a restaurant and a night club with a comedy show. This time there was no restaurant or night club. In the morning I went for my free breakfast. I was told that the breakfast bags were gone when I got there at 7:30 am. I commented on this and was told that the bags had not been delivered for three weeks. Would I stay again. Probably, it was clean and staff was good. I was just disappointed in the changes.

They did not honor the reservation. They put us in their cheapest room and did not refund the difference. We reserved a king size bed and we were given a queen size bed. They said it was because we had a dog. I made the reservation for a dog friendly room with a king size bed. If they are not going to honor a third-party reservation then they should not take them. We were very disappointed. The staff was friendly but not apologetic or willing to work with us.

Good value; redeeming quality.

The room was kind of smelly. Risidual chemical, cleaning product. Lighting is not the best. Bathroom fan was super loud, was not separate from the light. No coffee offered with continental breakfast. The coffee maker in room was really dirty, didn’t even want to use to make coffee. People in neighboring room were extremely loud in late hours. Not able to sleep.

The shower didn’t work.
We were blamed for not knowing the night before we showered. Our fault for wanting to shower in the morning? The toilet would consistently bring stuff back up after being flushed.
Staff couldn’t locate manager. No radios? No cell phones?
The manager I did speak with had no authority to give a refund.
In the end they credited me $25.
Literally all we need from a hotel room is to sleep, shower and use the toilet. 1/3 (the beds) functioning with 5 people was no fun.
$185 for the night divided by 5 guests is $37 each for the functioning room. Each guest received a $12 experience. I think they owe me at least another $100.
Last time I stay at a Red Lion.
The Wyndham in Newport was around the same price our next night. It was leaps and bounds better than the Red Lion in Coos Bay.

Upon arrival at check in time of 3pm we were told our room was not ready as it was still dirty and being cleaned. We had to wait another 20mins, which was interesting as there were hardly any other guests noted as the parking lot was practically empty & the hotel looked almost vacant. Upon day of departure we went out to breakfast but had taken our belongings with us but left our refrigerated food items stored in the in room fridge. Upon our return at 10am our room was already being cleaned and all our food had been tossed in the trash. They assumed we had “checked out”, as there were not personal belongings present. It is ironic we couldn’t check in due to room being dirty but yet we hadn’t formally checked out and our room was already being cleaned. We told the desk staff not a good process to just assume we checked out. They need to implement some process whereby maybe the guests should leave their key cards in the room so they know whether or not guests have checked out or not. Next time lesson learned for us, to possibly leave the Do Not Disturb sign posted so our room will remain ours until we actually check out.

The room was nice, and the location quiet. The shower head was low (it's an older hotel), however, and the maid never serviced our room (we stayed 2 nights). Also, the man working at the counter was slightly rude after my key didn't work for the third time, practically accusing me of de-magnetizing it.
Overall a pleasant stay though.

Wonderful stay . Went to Shore Acres Christmas lights

Did not have breakfast and did not warn guests, did not check IDs at checkout to make sure I was the customer hows name was on the card. Ice machines where out of order and not all where labeled out of order and the ones that where where incorrect about which ones where working.

No heat working, very run down, we left, had to pay to go to a expensive hotel

Lots of Pros. The room was huge! The shower pressure was wonderful and like most logdings not made for tall people in mind.
Staff was very friendly and pleasent.
Some netural observations. The room wasn't dirty but could use some updates.
There is a entrance off the main road, but google showed the less traffic way in and out. That road wasnt what i'd call on obvious road, but was a helpful way to get in and out.
Bteakfast was prebagged and ready to go! Simple packaged danish and granola bar fair with a bottle of water. I did like this as I'm always the one tasked with grabbing breakfast and bagged is much easier to carry, added plus (and I'm sure this is the reason for bagging) COVID safe.
The con. It's a big one and the main reason for the less stars. The beds are very uncomfortable. Both the bed i used and the other bed used by my companion had us up in the middle of the night with aches. Now the pillows were wonderful.

Was told breakfast would be served from 6am - 10am which was a selling point for our stay. The morning of check out was cold and rainy on a Sunday morning where hotel was nowhere near capacity. Got up for breakfast and was told by the receptionist that breakfast would not be served because the truck did not come in. In a nutshell i was deceived and lied to and of course there was no offered attempt from the hotel to make this situation right. Stay away from this place.

This will work for one night; the room looked clean, the heater sounds like a 747 and the bathroom fan sounds like it’s little brother. When I unwrapped a clear plastic cup to brush my teeth….I discovered the the inside of the wrapper was wet as was the inside and outside of the glass! How could that happen?

We walked into the room and the first thing we were hit with was a smell of mildew. The hair dryer was cracked. We will not be back.

We requested a bottom floor for health reasons. The first room we checked into wasn’t cleaned and the front desk seemed upset that they had to upgrade our room because our particular room type was sold out. The new room was very spacious and pretty clean but the rooms are a little dated. The hotel property is huge with lots of rooms and plenty of parking. Pricing was ok but I would expect to pay that for something a little more updated. I would probably give an overall of 4/5 stars ⭐️

The location was very convenient, the front desk people were fine. The room, another story. Nowhere to hang our clothes. Not even a hook. No rack, no closet. The door was extremely hard to unlock and open. The window sill was very damp, moldy, and rusty with a spider web in it. The breakfast should be advertised as a hard granola bar and sweet roll in a paper sack.

I booked online as we were coming in for a funeral. We got the King with a pullout couch. The couch was very very old and decrepit and on top of that there was no bedding for it nor was there enough towels for 3 people to shower.

Comfy room, conveniently located, I stay here every month on a work trip.

Great stay evening staff that checked me in was very friendly and nice. The morning staff when I checked out was cold and brash.

Another customer was able to open our door with her key. We both had to go to the desk and get new keys. This is a serious security issue. Otherwise everything else was fine.

Much better conditions than last time we stayed there. The bathroom could use more attention. Shower handle was really hard to pull out. And floor corners were not real clean. Coffee in room was not very good.

The front desk lady was not helpful and rude. Gave me a room that was still occupied.

Went to watch the solar eclipse, it was cloudy so we didn’t get to see it. Had a great time visiting the area. Will definitely stay again.

Older hotel. Breakfast was a brown bag with cheap pastries and a granola bar. No coffee.

Older property needs updating, but clean and large room. Check in was a little slow and needed another person.
Large property. In the back away from the road is very quiet. Everyone was vary nick to work with.
