We have stayed in many Fairmont hotel around the world and almost at all major town in Canada. This one is the least favorite one. The view is totally the best as we have to room overlooking to the center of lake louise. However, the room is old with brown sticky carpet and old brown wooden furniture. It did not reflect the luxury it supposed to offer. With this price and check in at 4pm plus parking is not included, I would recommend just came for a view and stay in Banff like our previous visit here

It was a great stay..we were hoping for an early check in but they gave us an upgrade which was awesome. Room was a little small but the view was fantastic!

Location: right in front of Lake Louis, cannot get any better, about 90 mins from Banff town so that can be a bit of a bother if you want to go to the town
Room: very nice, but you have to pay more to get one with a view. Gold floor comes along with access to a lounge with beverages/food access which is very handy and recommended
Restaurants: Plenty to choose from, food is good with amazing staff/chef. Reserve in advance else it can be tough to get a table.
Tours: Excellent staff to help organize tours like treks, rides, sports etc. Free shuttle for ski resort
Shopping: excellent retail shops, really nice collection.
SPA: 4/10; no access to showers, steam room etc. But they are building new SPA facilities.
Swimming Pool/Gym: basic can be better.
Overall: choose when you go very carefully. Its nice to go any time of the year but depends on your preference. Winter can be rough but the hotel is less crowded.

Chateau took care of our bags while we parked the car, and let us check in early into our beautifully appointed, clean room.

Wonderful stay. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms were comfortable. They had a wonderful selection of teas and coffees in the room. The community family room had games and hot drinks as well. On-site restaurants are quite pricey for what you get so we drove into town several times to eat. The ice skating cost $86CA for a family of four.

My husband and two children first stayed a the Château 37 yrs ago in the summer. We decided to return in another season. As beautiful as lake Louise is in the summer/fall, it is absolutely magical in winter! Granted temp -35 was not what these Arizonans anticipated but the staff at the Chateau was so welcoming, so pleasant, helpful and warm! We kept saying how beautiful everything was. Waller Stube restaurant was a bit chilly but the fondue hit the spot.
We started at the Fairmont Jasper and are now at the Fairmont Banff Springs finishing our Canadian winter
odyssey. Great memories to add to the Canadian experience. Thanks Fairmont!

Wonderful stay! Great amenities, lovely view over the lake, lots of adventurous hiking around the lake. Our room was too warm and the thermostat did not work, but efforts were made to fix it.

The front desk staff are unbelievably friendly and helpful and professional. The chateau itself is breathtaking and it is right on the lake I’m almost unspoiled beauty. There are so many dining and cocktail options onsite and the room I had was spacious and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to everybody. Treat yourself.

Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is one of a kind. Obviously its proximity to the Lake is outstanding. Each of the staff we dealt with were fantastic.
Our Concierge (I believe his name was Nigel) on the day of our arrival was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We used all of his advice to enhance our hikes and our stay.
We attended the outdoor fire and Darcy was personable and friendly. He did a great job and in our view is a great guide for any guests staying at the Chateau.
We enjoyed our meals at the Lakeview Lounge and The Guides Pantry was great for a quick breakfast before heading out hiking.
The on sight shops are exquisite.

So this review is a little difficult. The staff was amazing which made the stay great but there were a lot of non-Fairmont Hotel type mistakes that were made over the five days we were there. Overall, I would rank my stay a 3 1/2 out of five stars, mainly because the staff was so great. The facilities need to be updated and the logistics of the hotel need to be Cleaned up.

If it wasn’t for Lake Louise I wouldn’t stay at this property. I will definitely return to Banff, but not to the Fairmont. For the price point it fell miserably short, albeit staff was great and you can’t beat the location. Getting nickel and dimed ($45 for daily valet parking, $8 for a croissant ?!, insecure internet access so that paying $10/day is the only option) is one thing, but the jr suite was nothing special and the toilet sounds like a silo when flushing. Plus the room has a huge noisy portable air conditioner…not what I’d expect from a supposed high end property. Los Labos Toiletries were nice. The restaurants were okay to good, not spectacular. Again, for the price point I anticipated great food. That the ATM didn’t work was annoying….hence we couldn’t tip the staff. Overall- thrilled to visit beautiful Alberta, but underwhelmed by the Fairmont.

The location was perfect, right on the lake with a few lovely hikes literally on the doorstep plus shuttles to Moraine Lake. There were a number of restaurants to pick from or a “grab and go” shop which was convenient, although very busy at certain times of the day such as during breakfast. You can pick up some souvenirs from the various gift shops which is a nice addition. Unfortunately there was building work taking place while we were there which was very noisy for much of the daytime, and the bathroom would benefit from some updates, which would have made it a 5* stay!

If location is what you’re after, then this property is 5-star. Service is especially good as well. But…the hotel is aging and the owner isn’t keeping up. They are adding something which makes it quite ugly and loud at the moment, but maybe that will be finished in a year. If you care about it, call them. Otherwise there will be a crane in your view, lots of workers and lots of noise including hammering and jackhammers. In addition to that the hardwoods were very rough in our room and maintenance had to be called after every poop in the toilet. We expected much better for the premium price we paid.

Rooms in the hotel are very small. We had to insist on a change and pay an extra $100 per day in order to have a room large enough to open our suitcases and move around. Send room was wonderful, but wasted a couple of hours moving. This was already a very expensive room, not good value for money. Wonderful location but I would stay elsewhere for this cost.

A phenomenal and memorable experience. The location and breathtaking views speak for themselves, as we heard one person exclaim “People come from all over the world to stand on the shore of Lake Louise in front of the Chateau”. The hotel and its accommodating staff were magnificent We arrived very early and was able to check in early to our very clean, quiet, and spacious room with comfortable beds and stunning lake view. The entire staff from the valet, bell captain, front desk, concierge, and dinner reservation desk were engaging and extremely hospitable. Equally impressive were the hostesses and waiters/waitress who served us exceptional breakfasts, lunches, and dinners at the Louiza, Alpine Social, and Lakeview Lounge. Direct access to highly rated trails, canoe rentals, and shuttle bus to Moraine Lake are terrific bonuses.
