Our trip was amazing!Great Food! Friendly Staff! The grounds are so beautiful! We loved everything!!

Loved this resort, quite quirky as very spread out but meant everyone had plenty of space regarding Sunbeds etc. I stayed in bungalow overlooking bay, superb views, lovely comfy bed. Food- good choices and variety available.
Staff so helpful and catered for all your needs. Thoroughly recommend.

Without a doubt this was the most beautiful and pristine beach I have ever seen. The staff was lovely and the food always seemed home-cooked. You can snorkel just a few yards away from the beach and see every kind of fish and coral you could possibly want. We even saw stingrays (no sea turtles though). Every night we were treated to the most glorious sunset. The resort is still undergoing some renovations. Most places and spaces are complete, but you can see some spaces are still in the works. I hope when all is said and done that there will be hooks or towel racks in all the bathrooms (my only criticism). We loved our fellow guests as well. Also, highly recommend yoga with Clemmy!

This is a nice, quite secluded and quiet hotel, ideal for a good rest. The facilities are ok, in the process for renewal and expansion. Very welcoming staff, good buffet for breakfast and dinner. Nice entertainment during dinner, but it could be more varied and include other options also during daytime.

Lovely place and beautiful beach. Friendly staff and great food.

friendly, quiet and relaxed

Lovely big room, superior sea view. Close to beach and all other amenities. Sea rough at times. Not of weak swimmers. Lots of fish, cocktails, good food and very friendly

Resort setting is beautiful. Beautiful views.
Do not come here if you cannot take steps very well.
No elevators/lifts for disabled people.

Almost every room has ocean views or is beachfront. Kayaks great. Sometimes wind too strong for Hobie cat free usage. Food is above average and darn tasty. Hardworking and kind staff. Dalston a gem.

Quiet, Great Staff, Good Food!
Not enough lounge chairs on the beach - others would go down early morning and save chairs and sometimes never use them until late in the day. Hawksbill is doing some much needed renovations at the resort starting in April. Rooms were comfortable but needing attention.

The staff were wonderful. Dalston was a joy! The beaches were lovely. Very quiet for those who want a relaxing vacation. Not much to do. Entertainment at nite was nice, generally ended at 9:30 pm. Good, so it wasn't noisy too late. The rooms have no televisions, so, it was always an early bedtime. Never seemed too crowded, even though they said they were fully booked. The rooms, sidewalks and stairs need to be updated and repaired. Not a place to go if you can't walk up flights of stairs, trip easily, or expect rooms to be more than adequate... but, hey, how long do you spend in your room anyway, other than to sleep? We enjoyed the visit, the views, the beaches and the staff... had a lovely time!

Gorgeous beaches! Sleepy resort, far from activities. CABS ARE EXPENSIVE!! NOT a true adults only resort, children age 12 and up are there. They were very well behaved, but still present. The resort is in need of renovations, but it is very clean. Staff is wonderful, especially Dalson, Kevin, Mira, David, T (at the desk) and of course Denise! We had a great time soaking up the sun and scenery.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Hawksbill Resort in Antigua. Our reading of the various reviews led us to expect an older "3 star" resort, perhaps with less modern amenities and shine, but well maintained with lovely beaches and great staff & service. All of that is exactly what we experienced, but we were also blown away by the quiet, serene atmosphere and frankly gorgeous sand & water that Hawksbill provided us.
We stayed in a Bungalow in the Honeymoon section of the resort, and we loved it. We had fantastic beach & water views from our balcony and we were right between 2 of the 4 beaches on the resort. The rooms are simple, functional and clean. We had a slight issue with the plumbing on the first day (our fault, not theirs) - I mentioned it to the front desk and we had someone from maintenance and from housekeeping arrive in 20 minutes to fix it and make sure we were happy. This was our experience with all the staff at Hawksbill, friendly, responsive and eager to assist.
The food at Hawksbill is simple and satisfying, if unspectacular. Breakfast & dinner are both served buffet style, and we were always able to find something we each enjoyed.
We felt that overall we received fantastic value for our money during our stay at Hawksbill. For serenity and the sheer beauty of nature, I don't think you could beat it anywhere at it's price point. We learned that quite a few couples have been coming here for 20 years, and we would absolutely return as well!

Staff was wonderful. Entertainment less than average. Awakened every morning at 6:30 AM by loud garbage trucks running by the room.

The location was absolutely beautiful and the staff was a joy. The resort lacked a lot of amenities but I’m sure that will be resolved when the renovations are completed. The nearness of everything to the ocean is not something you find in the “mega” resorts, and the beach is incredible; clear calm water with no seaweed.

The resort is getting ready for a refresh in April for several months. With that in mind the staff was amazing and very helpful. Dalston was amazing, Mr. Henry the food and beverage manager was also very accommodating, he rolled up his sleeves to help his team and they put out excellent food. Sharnice at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I read some negative reviews before booking and ALL their complaints did not exist while I was there. We had a great time and the beach and sunsets were fantastic. I can’t wait to go back next year.

The location of the property could not have been better - my husband and I had a wonderful beach club room which was right on the cliff overlooking the water with the constant sound of the crashing surf. The bed was very comfortable and the cleaning staff made the room super clean for us every day. The property could use some updating (which is scheduled) but we knew what we were getting and liked the rustic and low key vibe of the place. It's pretty secluded (which is a plus in our opinion) but the front desk and local cab drivers are always ready to help make arrangements if you want to explore more of the island which we always like to do. And if the bartenders recommend a certain drink to you take them up on it - you wont be sorry!

Outdated. Falling apart

4 extraordinary beaches

Stunning location, the beaches are beautiful with very calm water. The resort is tired, hence low prices compared to others. It’s due to close for refurbishment in spring 2023. One staff member I asked said he will be let go then, if this is true of all staff it explains why morale seems low and service is patchy. However if you stay relaxed and show some patience it all gets done. As with everywhere we’ve been on Antigua the people are great.

We had a brilliant stay at the Hawksbill by Rex.
This hotel is not for everyone, if you want luxury accommodation, refined food, extravagant cocktails, you should go elsewhere. If however you want friendly staff, robust comfortable accommodation, acceptable food, and a lot of fun drinks, this could be for you.
The key reason to come here, and probably bring us back, are the beaches, I cant tell you how brilliant it is to feel like you have your own private beach, just you and a few fellow guests. If you are adventurous and head to Eden Beach (the only Nudist beach on the island), which is just along from Hawksbill, then you really do feel like you have your own private Antiguan beach!
We had a fantastic stay, and would come back again. We enjoyed it a lot, but appreciate some people who expect luxury and bespoke service, are unlikely to enjoy ti as we did.

This Hotel needs a major make-over. The room we stayed was really basic with furniture you would find in a cheap second hand shop.
We had no hot water during our 2 day stay and the plumbing did not function well in the bathroom with a partially blocked sink and water backing up in the toilet. You had to flush it twice to clear.
Staff were ok but many looked miserable and did not smile although some were extremely friendly.
Food was ok with a fairly wide variety to please all tastes.
The beach was wonderful and kept well groomed by hotel staff.

Staff very friendly and couldn’t do enough. Lovely setting but a little tired

Beautiful property and beaches. Food was not great. Breakfast very English. Lunch just Oke. And dinner was nothing special.
The staff was great and friendly. Our room was nothing special. No AC no TV. And very small.

My husband and I stayed at Hawksbill Resort because we didn't need a lot of amenities, we wanted to stay on the west side of the island, it was all-inclusive, and the location was beautiful. Although the resort needs better wifi and renovations, our stay there was great. They have a wonderful staff, a good buffet for a smaller resort, and four relaxing beaches to choose from. Because the resort is on a hillside, it's not handicap accessible. I point this out because my husband sprained his ankle before arriving and after seeing a doctor on Antigua, he ended up on crutches and couldn't walk much. The staff and management went out of their way to accommodate us in our needs. Overall, Hawksbill is a great value for your money.

Its a basic property. Quiet with limited onsite events. Where its shines is its location and staff. The beach is amazing and the food was very good. If you want to go “off the grid” this is the place

One of the friendliest staffs I have ever encountered at any resort. Reminded me of Sandals resort staff from 20 years ago when they were still pleasant. The beach is brethtaking and very secluded. Could hear the waves lashing at night from our room which was a positive. The food could use an upgrade culinary wise needs improvement. Strongest drinks I have had at any resort. No complaints about wateted down drinks here.

The property has a private beach. It is close to shopping in St Johns, the cruise terminal and market about 20 minutes away. A shuttle for a fee can be booked to go shopping. The all inclusive option made it easy. And the food was great. My favourite was the Hawsbill burger with grilled pineapple. The resort had a great vibe among the guests.

the property was excellent but the wifi was a disaster

It was perfect for what we needed as with the storm our flight got cancelled so needed an overnight stay.

This place is rated appropriately by others. Pros and cons. Nice to be right on the beach. The walk to eat depends on where your room is. We were in between the buffet and lunch restaurant. Limited food items. Limited times to eat. Lots of mosquitoes. Quiet. Had to move rooms due to AC not working. Staff friendly. Bar closes very early- about 10:30 pm. Low water pressure for showers. Extra bill at the end to cover government taxes which I was not informed of until checking out. Overall alright. Safe.

Had a very pleasant two week stay. We booked a superior beach view room, with air conditioning (in my opinion, a must after a hot day sightseeing or on the beach).
Very relaxing holiday and the staff are all friendly and helpful

This was supposed to be a relaxing week but the resort was full of teenage football players in some tournament. We had not been warned about this

Hawksbill is fantastic. It doesn't pretend to be glamorous or high-tech; in fact, it's the opposite. But given its situation, beaches and the lovely staff, it's a very great deal better anbd better value, than pretty much all of the high-class hotels I've stayed at.

Horrible, no air conditioning, no wifi, widow broken It was a horrible situation

Liked the beach and dining hall and lunch facility.
Disliked the chirping birds in the trees that disrupted sleep all through the night.

I loved the tranquil beach area setting. The view was awesome it was enclosed by the mountains and the sea. The ocean sound was mesmerizing .The staff was always so helpfull and approachable and helpful.
I could not deal with the heat in the room that my dislike. I enjoyed my stay.

Our bed was comfortable and our room was cold. However, the entire property is run down. We were too far away from the beach we wanted to visit and had many steps to navigate to go anywhere. The property is very spread out. Eden Beach has not been taken care of with only trees providing shade. The palm frond umbrellas were basically worthless. There were a few chaise loungers on this beach. The food was good but many food items would run out if one didn't eat early. The dining area is al fresco and if you weren't there early, the only seating left was in a hot and non-breezy area.
The alcohol was not top shelf by any means. There were a few very friendly staff members but we didn't feel overly pampered by any means.

This was our first holiday in 3 years and it delivered on every front. Hawksbill has some of the best beaches in Antigua! The staff at the hotel were amazing! Ever last person was helpful and friendly, especially Debbie at reception, Fenton and Danny in activities and Myrna and Bernadette in the dining rooms. I really hope that REX resorts takes care of their employees when they close for badly needed refurbishments in April 2022 because it try is the people that make the place. The rooms are dated and basic as are the dining areas. The food was good, always a selection. Tennis Court really needs to be redone, but was fine for a few games. The hotel could use a larger lounging area for guest to sit and have drinks. All in all, great value for money and hope it stays that way when the refurb is done and hope all the amazing people are still there when we get back.

The property was very nice except the water was off and we couldn’t shower or flush the last day.
