The area is busy, expect to hear sirens. Rooms need deep cleaning, tubs are outdated but they are nice and friendly. The rooms are spacious and breakfast was great

DO NOT STAY HERE! First and foremost, coming from a Celebrity Journalist this Hyatt by far is the WORST Hyatt I’ve ever experienced. A hotel this run down should not be allowed on 3rd party platforms or even in existence. You’re better off booking at the Residents INN that’s 0.5 miles down the street. Don’t be fooled from the looks at the front desk. Once you pass through it’s HELL on earth. The customer service from the janitorial is WAY better than front desk, by far. That was the only positive experience. Upon checking in, they did not have water operating in the rooms. They even cut it off majority of my stay and wouldn’t even accommodate a partial refund for all interruptions or inconvenience. We were even welcomed to bugs in the room. So much disturbance. Need I say more? If you’re in the Irmo/Columbia area, book at the Residents Inn. Trust me, this Hyatt is not worth another penny.

In the past, this has been a better hotel. The current inconveniences are all due to an ongoing renovation project, which affects the comfort and good feel of the property normally. During this day, the rooms have not been completely finished. There is cleanup and finer touches inside the rooms that remain to be done. I expect when the renovation project is completed, this property will return to a fully excellent rating. By the way, the breakfast is still superior to almost any other in the night staff at the front desk is stunningly, efficient, and friendly. (Courtney, I’m referring to you.!)

Horrible! The hotel was in the middle of renovations and construction! Walked thru a construction zone on the same floor as my room! The room smelled like fumes! Tried to change rooms but they didn’t have! Worse stay I ever had in a hotel

First the room I reserved was not available so they put me in an accessible room. It had the smallest darkest shower and the ac/heater had issues it ran all night and never got the room the right temperature and the floor was soaking wet. Someone had sprayer bleach cleaner to mask the smell.

The customer service definitely could have been better. Was told because I booked by third party and not through the actual site that my reservation for a king bed could not be honored. I requested a pack n play for the room for my baby. The pack n play was in the room but did not have did not have the mattress, leaving it useless to us. When I asked the front desk staff, she called the manager who told us this is the way they come. I can assure you they do not come this way. You can’t put the baby in a pack n play without the mattress. See attached pictures. You can see the bottom of it, which has a hard metal piece you can lift to store it. This was a very simple accommodation I requested and they were not able to help. Probably won’t return.

Toilet didn't work properly. Bathroom is poorly constructed. Door right on top of the toilet. Can't see a fat person fitting in there. For the money they charge there is no microwave. Even Super 8 has a microwave at half the price of Hyatt.

This property was exceptionally clean. Staff were friendly, courteous and made you feel welcome. Complimentary breakfast was very good. Definitely will stay there again and recommend to others.

Was not aware that the hotel was under construction. It was not loud, it was just visibly under construction. Our room was outdated. Also, parking is free, but Expedia asks if you want to pay and I did. Now I can’t prove that I did because the rate is not broken out in my receipt.

I understand the hotel is being renovated, that’s fine but it looked like they just messed things up and walked away from the job. We were there for 5 days and I never saw anyone doing any work. Never once did anyone come clean our room. We had to ask for towels a few times and take the trash out ourselves. When we pulled out the sofa bed, the old dirty sheets were still on the bed. Upon arrival to our room, there were still dirty towels in the room as well. The breakfast wasn’t the best either. If you are looking to stay here and relying on having breakfast, don’t. They have a hard time keeping up with what people use and they have a very poor selection. Lastly, when we checked in the customer service was lacking. Nothing was explained to us as far as breakfast times. They gave me a bag with a water bottle and two red tickets, I still have the tickets but have no clue what they are for!

Everything smells really nicely upon walking in. It was nice to feel the warmth after being in the cold. I was impressed how the attendant called us in the room to see if everything worked okay. The staff’s friendliness is what adds to the overall experience. The room is very nice and clean.

My experience at this hotel was decent at first. They are doing renovations so of course the lobby wasn’t great. However, the morning we left I had to call the police because my license plate was stolen from my car. I called the front desk and they said there were no cameras facing the parking lot only the entrance. Please beware!!

Property is undergoing extensive renovations. Reception was moved into the same area as morning breakfast buffet, but there were no tables or chairs. We had to take food back to our room and hope that buttons in the elevator worked. Stuff tried their best to accommodate the guests, which was difficult under the circumstances.

The beds were absolutely uncomfortable. A few of us stayed there for our friends, daughters wedding. The one room the bed had stains on it that you could see right through the sheets. They had a mattress cover on it that was too small to even cover it. The couch was stained as well. The floors were not vacuumed and they were stained. They moved me to another room and that was just as bad, I went to use one of the wash cloths and it had somebody’s facial hair or another type of hair in it. To think I almost used it on my face. I did not enjoy my stay there, nor did I sleep well at all. The breakfast was cold every morning and there were no microwaves to heat anything up in. You had to have the staff heated up in the one behind the bar. I tried to speak with the manager several times, and the front desk person gave me the runaround and kept telling me they weren’t in. I have attached photos. You will need to zoom in on some of them to see what I mean. They say they are under renovations, and kept apologizing. However, for what I was saw, there was no excuse. Our friends who also stayed ended up sick and believed it was due to mold in their room. As soon as they were moved, they started feeling much better.

The stay was a mess. First our room temperature was set at 60 and the room would not cool down. A housekeeper came in the room without knocking while one of us were without clothes she said she's sorry she thought it was on her checkout list. We woke up several times throughout the night to change the temperature. Now this is the worst of the hotel stay.. we're leaving from the 6th floor, get on the elevator ,as soon as the doors closed the elevator dropped really fast to to the first floor. Then the elevator was bouncing up and down when we stopped and the doors would not open. We hit the open door button still wouldn't open. We were terrified and panicked. Then finally the doors opened after that terrifying ride, warned a gentleman to not get on the elevator. Upon checking out we told the clerk Tony what had just happened in the elevator and the room not cooling off , he really disregarded our comments And was like "ok I'll let them know". We just left and will never EVER EVER stay there again. Not to mention the room ceiling was a mess peeling and the carpet was filthy we were too tired to find another hotel. When we left it was a relief but now I'm can never look at elevators the same it was a feeling I have never felt in my life in the elevator. Shane on this establishment.
