We were here on a short trip, so this day was okay. I was very disappointed in the service of the lobby personnel. Both on arrival and departure were the same to staff member who I would like to read below average in. Terms of hospitality. I have definitely gotten warmer. Greeting from my local grocery store. Then a beautiful hotel.
Front desk.

The front desk staff was courteous, friendly and warm. The minor set back was that I advised them that bathroom window didn’t close and charging ports by bed were not working, and they said it would be fixed, but it was not fixed.

Service is good. Not super. And property needs a major upgrade

La Casa del Camino is a lovely old inn with many nice features but could be improved. Unfortunately its famed roof bar/lounge was closed when I was there due to rain and there were no other food or beverage services available in the inn. My room was spacious enough and had a nice bathroom, but needed rugs on the floor, a luggage stand for my suitcase, and instructions on using the stand-alone heating/cooling device. And morning coffee service should be accompanied by pastries or something, as a sign in the lobby says would be available.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Charming exterior and old Euro-style interior not maintained. Hallways smelt bad, like a cross between damp carpet and kitchen grease, which also pervaded the rooms, but to a lesser extent. Decor and amenities in serious need of updating.
Rooftop bar is a beautiful location looking back over the main beach, but without a menu or cocktail list to match. We sat down to eat, looked at the menu, which was average sounding and looking (based on other patron’s orders) sports bar food, so we left without ordering and went somewhere else.
The photos online do not represent the quality of the interior. Find another place in Laguna if you can (and not Pacific Edge, either, as it suffers from similar issues).

The room was very small and the insulation was very bad; we could hear any word from the room beside.

The trolley bus was great

Where to even begin. I’ve never stayed in a motel 6, but this is how I’d picture one to be. My fiancé (now husband) and I came to stay here for Valentine’s Day and to elope in Laguna Beach. This had not only been expressed to front desk staff, but even if we were not coming for a special event I’d definitely expect the rooms to be clean. There was a thick layer of dust covering every single surface in the room we checked into and sticky spots on the flooring near the foot of the bed and desk. The lady at the front assured me I would have a partial beach view but you couldn’t see anything out the window other than cars parking on the street and large bird of paradise plants-which is fine, but honesty would have been preferred. The rooms were nothing like photographs online decor/size wise, but they also failed to mention some of their doors from the hallway to room do not close all the way ( even when locked) as their is a gap from years of warp leaving excessive light coming into the room at all hours of the night. The ac/heater didn’t work in our room, our room was stocked with two towels for a 3 night stay for 2 guests. There were stains on the throw comforter at the end of the bed and spider webs in the shower and spiders in the shower curtain. The bed was so uncomfortable and the pillows so worn and flat that I could have been comfier on the floor. Managers and staff didn’t nothing to resolve issues and offered half ass partial refunds to “make it right”

Amazing place with a cool rooftop restaurant with sweeping views of the ocean and sunset.

Staying here was great! The staff was super kind and helpful with instructions for parking and check in/check out was quick and simple! My only complaint is that in our room, one of our towels was dirty, as if someone used it to squish a flying bug. Otherwise everything else was clean. I will be visiting again and would recommend this place to a friend!

Have been here several times, disappointed they did away with the courtyard breakfast but still an awesome place.

The inside is very dated. The hallways smell. It really needs updating. Bathroom is tiny. Check-in was fast and friendly. There is a lot of stuff to walk to, shops, restaurants and such.

Shower didn’t work but I still enjoyed it.

The manager and reception staff were all extremely helpful and great personalities. Made our stay thay much more enjoyable. I would recommend this property. It is a historical building and room are small and Eurpean style so dont come expecting big American style its a quaint property and has a lot of soul

Lovely, quiet rooms in a hotel with character. Laguna Beach is very nice with lots of shops and galleries. It was fairly easy to park temporarily and then shift the car to the hotel parking lot. There is a nice rooftop restaurant bar on the rooftop, but we could not take our own drinks/snacks up there. Front desk was not the friendliest.

I loved everything. Staff was brilliant. The bed might not please annoying people but I was very comfortable.

First and foremost I want to say that the staff here was very nice and pleasure to deal with. The wife and I just wanted to get away for a couple of days to relax and decided to stay at La Casa Del Camino. The location of this hotel is great. You can either walk or uber anywhere worth going to in the area. When booking the room the only room available was the Spanish Room at the time. The room was small but quaint. Other than just the ornate head boards and storage closet it was considered the Spanish room. People a little art can go a long way in a room like this. Our room was alined with the side street so we could hear everything going on. Let's just say it, was noisy. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The pillows had no support what so ever to them and the bed just seem very old and lumpy. They really need to check out the black friday sales going on. The wire's sticking out from the flat screen tv a bit tacky and the A/C in the room didn't work cause the outlet did not support the unit.

I checked in went to my room and immediately checked out it smelled like people had been smoking cigarettes and crack with all the windows closed my room faced the alley and there are no screens so anybody could just crawl in in the middle of the night I was partially refunded for one night out of two but I really feel I should have been fully refunded there was no way I was going to spend five minutes there let alone my birthday weekend 😕

This is a lovely place but SO LOUD. Do not stay here if hoping to sleep. I understand it’s in the bustling beach area and the location is fantastic but lordy it’s noisy. A little pricey for a tiny room but it is right on the beach! The rooftop bar/restaurant is awesome and has the best sunset view in town plus good food and drinks. Great, friendly staff too

I booked this hotel for my sister's trip to Laguna Beach.. She was visiting from England. She spent 6 nights at La Casa del Camino and thoroughly enjoyed her stay. The rooftop bar was a convenient place to get a drink and food, with a fantastic view of the beach that's just 60 yards away, and downtown Laguna Beach. The room my sister stayed in was on the 3rd floor (hotel lobby is on the 2nd floor, at street level) and had an entry "lobby" area with chairs, a table, and a bench for her suitcase. Next to that was an office area with a chair, desk and telephone. Further into the room was the bedroom which had a TV, air-conditioning unit, chest of drawers and a comfortable queen bed. The bathroom was small, but plenty big enough for one person and there was a separate room for the toilet and shower. The staff were super friendly. My sister said she would definitely stay there again and is already planning her return visit.

Concierge and staff was very helpful and friendly.
This is a boutique hotel with cute decor and great amenities. The food at the rooftop restaurant was really good.
I’m so happy we found this place, definitely coming back and recommending it to our friends.

I read the reviews about one person saying itooked dirty. Im very picky and it was very clean. The staff was very nice. The room my husband and I got was small, but that's what we picked, not hotels fault. They gVe us a ocean view. It was perfect for my husband and I. I go to Laguna to just sit and watch the ocean to relax and find peace. I dont need anything extra fancy. The beach is my fancy. The only complaint I would have, is that you have to carry your own towels and umbrella down to the beach. For someone who is disabled there's no way I would've been able to do it without my husband being with me. Other than than everything was perfect. The roof top dining was amazing as well. Watching the sunset was breath taking. I captured the most beautiful pictures. As for noise, they have a fan you can turn on to block out the noise. I also read that in a person comments. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
