Hotel is outdated but everything is working and rooms are.ok.

It was a very good stay. I am sure once the construction is complete it would even more enjoyable. Everything is convenient so you don’t have to go far for a good time. Most of the staff is very friendly. First impressions go a long way. The guy at the desk should remember this. I will definitely be back.

I was very disappointed that I was NOT told that the resort was under serious construction. I would not have come!

I went for my birthday with my girlfriend and had the most amazing time so good of a time we didn’t even get a chance to do everything amazing time!!!

Stay was to provide a place to sleep while we visited our grand-kids. Wife could not reach toilet paper from commode. No table and chairs in room to eat at. No complimentary breakfast. Construction project underway leaving a long walk to the entrance. No drawers in nite stands.

The property was nice, beautiful, close to the casino, the all the staff members in the hotel and in the restaurant and casino. Thanks again for a wonderful visit.

We have stayed at the Rod 'N' Reel many times over the years. We have always found the service, efficiency of the staff, and attention to cleanliness to be top notch.

Had stayed before and had a great experience - this time not so much - huge bugs in the room, fire alarms in the night, noisy neighbors - poor communication about restaurant hours over the holidays.

Weekend shuttle to North Beach and back for non drivers - there is no taxi service or Uber service in the area.

I stay here whenever I visit family in Chesapeake Beach. Reasonably priced and close to many things I like to do.

I loved everything about the Rod and Reel Resort and can’t wait to return in the Spring. My room, the lobby area, and overall property was fresh and clean. I loved the outdoor area and promenade, and how convenient the hotel is to the boardwalk and local recreational activities. Each staff member I engaged with was professional and friendly and I pay myself on the back for making such an awesome choice. Thank you Rod and Reel Staff!

Reserve king size bed suite with a balcony. Balcony had A huge AC unit outside of my door. I do not have a balcony or view. Room was missing a desk chair. Terrible room assigned even though there were lot of empty rooms available.

I had four major issues with this resort. First, due to ongoing renovations, the parking area was distant from the check-in location. Second, there is a non-refundable $20 charge per night which is called a “resort fee” (presumably helping to pay for renovations!). Third, I found the host staff indifferent, cold, and uncaring. No helpful information was offered, one had to ask about every detail. Finally, when my wife became ill on the first night of a two-night reservation, and we requested to cancel our second night, the manager denied us ANY refund, despite the fact that Expedia had approved the refund. I will certainly NOT be going back to Rod ‘N’ Reel!!!

I booked 2 rooms and was given rooms on 2 different floors if someone books 2 rooms they would probably prefer to be close to each other and at least on the same floor my friend is handicapped and it would have been easier to help him.
There were ants in the room and on the bed

When entering our room the front door it slams shut. Bathroom room would not shut. Closet door broken. Patio door would not lock. And screen on patio would not latch. Ants on counter, desk , nightstand and ice bucket. Also all on coffee pot. Hotel solution was to give us a can of bug spray. Rust in shower/tub and sink. Stains on chair.

The room was horrible, shower had mold and painted over the mold and mildew. The smell of the room was awful, had to purchase candles at the cvs.
The water was coming out sideways in the sink, you had to hold the handle down the entire time to flush the toilet. I want my money back!!!

This property was fully under construction when we arrived—-they were hammering on a new roof and there was a gigantic crane on waterfront so some things were blocked off. Because of all the construction their indoor pool was closed! They checked us into our first room—- filthy with unmade bed. Clearly never cleaned after prior people left. They then showed us our second room… exactly the same. Never cleaned!!! They then gave us our third room. Clean and nice water view but shockingly also a completely open huge window view INTO THE BATHROOM!!!!!! We had to jury rig the hanging of towels for any semblance of privacy in the bathroom. It was not a good experience and we left one day early. Sadly we expect nothing from Expedia in terms of a refund for our second unused night. Just very very bad experience all around.

I liked the quietness of the property. My view was great, the bay I will be returning. I would like to have a larger bar of soap for showering. The soap that was provided was good for washing hands but not bathing. The front desk personnel were very friendly and courteous.

I rented the room for family members who had never been been to the Chesapeake Bay area for a brief vacation. They enjoyed every minute.

Everything was nice accept when we woke up there were a bunch of ants on the dresser.

Restaurants were under construction which was explained prior, no problem. The carpet in room was dirty, we couldn’t walk around in socks. Overall we enjoyed overnight stay. We will revisit once construction completed
