Room was ready before check in time which allowed us to unpack our things and get ready for the Riverstone spa

Everything was great except for one little thing…the hashbrowns were over cooked

Restaurant was closed all days we were there. We should have been notified. It was -40C and we had a wheel chair. A real issue to get meals.

Relaxing staycation in great location. Walkable to the Forks Market and Human Rights Museum and glad that the winter trails were open. Having the spa on site was also great

Although I did not use either the spa or fitness facilities, I did usually check these sites out and they looked to be in good condition.

The location was great but the hotel beds were lumpy and awful. The room with two queen beds had no other comfortable seating in the room and we were there for almost a week. As soon as we checked in we were met with hidden fees, $21.50 per day for parking. We were gobsmacked. The hotel restaurant was extremely expensive and everything was ala carte. Pork chops $58.00 without any potatoes or veg’s. The food is not haute cuisine by any stretch of the imagination. They either need a chef or a menu change. Worst hotel ever as we picked it because we thought it was high end. Its average at best. At checkin we asked for an upgrade and we were told that we’d have to give up our two queen beds for a king and a pull out couch. Really. So from checkin to the end one disappointment after the other.

Great location at the Forks market beside the Red and Assiniboine rivers.
Reasonable rates, nice staff.
The bad: parking was a bit of a free for all but it worked out.
And most urgently: we had a power outage in the whole area for 12 hours. The hotel had no backups and NO LIGHTS AT ALL in the hallways. No emergency lights, it was pitch black. Eventually staff were stationed with flashlights in the halls.
A power failure is a rare occurrence I admit, but it really was shocking how unsafe and unprepared they were.
Overall i recommend this hotel. Just keep your phone charged just in case!

Here for a short business trip. I would stay here again.

Was hoping for a nice evening away, however, overall was disappointed. Room had some wear and tear and staff weren’t overly friendly or genuine. The power outage also added to the not so great stay as had to get ready for the day in the dark and the hotel so far hasn’t offered any compensation.

Love the hotel and location. Beautiful park and the Forks market beside the hotel.

It was an easy hotel to stay in, spaces large enough to not become crowded, convenient to downtown, friendly desk staff, and response was quick to requests for additional items for the room, and something that needed repair.
The restaurant food was very good, but the alcohol costs seemed very high. Might stay in the hotel again, but wouldn’t go back to Smith. Give 4 stars because we believe there is always room to improve.

We requested a late checkout and we were charged $30 for 1 extra hour.

I understand the need for a security deposit, but as I was in room for over night on Sunday only and it is now Saturday and that deposit still has not been returned to my card, I am annoyed by having to contact the facility for this. Also

Great stay at a wonderful property. So many dining options at the Forks. Check in was flawless.

Did not appreciate the extra parking cost. They have snacks in the room - $7 for a chocolate bar! Bar/restaurant closes very early. Front desk said 9:30, bit when we went for a late supper, turns out it was 9:15 because staff wanted to go home early.
The room is nice, quite big, and chairs are plush. The bed is so soft your feet rise because your body sinks. Pillows are lumpy. Which is why I am awake at 4AM writing a review instead of sleeping. No evening activities, which was disappointing for us.
Would not stay again.

The reception staff weren't very helpful. There was a large wedding happening the same weekend and it was very clear that all of the hotel staff's attentions were focussed on serving those guests and not the other guests. Reception staff barely even paid attention to my questions, ending with them not answering my questions at all.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff and nice view of the city from my room.

It's unfortunate that the beautiful park and grounds surrounding the hotel are a refuge for the homeless. The amount of drug use in the park is sad to see and feels unsafe. No one from the hotel cautioned this - but everyone in Winnipeg seems to be aware the The Forks can be rather dangerous after dark. The hotel itself is ok. Lack of parking options is odd for a property that uses the phrase - luxury redefined. The room I stayed in (406) had very stained carpets and some plumbing issues. Don't think I would stay again. The restaurant is fantastic though.
