Rooms were modern and clean and closer to station. However, even though the room had kettle, coffee, tea and milk,when they were over ( as I stayed for few days), went to the reception to ask for refills. But the gentleman said, they are not complementary and said he would 'order for me' which I will receive in the evening. All along he kept saying they were not complimentary and he would still order. I'm not sure if that's the policy. If yes not sure why they had kept them in the first place. Anyway I did get a refill (only once). Otherwise the stay was pleasant.

We expected more for the price we paid. The room was not very clean with stains on the bed sheets and pillowcases. Even after they cleaned, there was still hair on the floor. They didn't provide free slippers in the room. When we asked for slippers, they said it would cost €5. We booked two rooms. The rooms with stree view was beacuse of the sun, but the other side of tge coridor was very cold and the air conditioning didn't work. They gave us a heater, but it wasn't good enough, so we had to change rooms. The hotel staff were not friendly. The only good thing was the hotel's close location to a big shopping mall and train station.

Disappointing Room Experience Despite the promising exterior of the hotel, the room itself fell far below expectations. To start, the room 338 felt old and neglected. It was evident that maintenance was lacking, as the furnishings showed signs of wear and tear, and the overall cleanliness left much to be desired. The presence of a lingering unpleasant odor only added to the discomfort of the stay. Moreover, the room was overpriced for the dismal quality it offered. The mismatch between the cost and the condition of the room was glaringly apparent, leaving me feeling like I had paid far too much for far too little. In conclusion, this room was a disappointment in every aspect – from its state of disrepair to its inflated price. I would not recommend it to anyone seeking a comfortable and satisfactory stay.

We were there for a short, just is transit, but I did have time to enjoy the 8th floor pool area and an excellent meal. The front staff personal were excellent. .

Lovely stay as per usual

The hotel location is exceptional if part of the reason for coming to Malaga is to use it as a base for travelling around Andalusia. Just falling out of bed and being on a train platform within 5 minutes just cant be beat. The room was perfect. Thank you.

Spacious and new rooms. Expedia didn’t submit our bed preference, so we had to change rooms and landed up on the lowest floor looking onto the station roof. Convenient to walk to the old town, right by the station.

Lovely stay, had a junior suite which was big enough for x2 adults and x2 children, room was great well equipped and the Tv even had British channels 1-5 and children’s tv as well as French and German. I had requested the pull out bed be set up which it wasn’t, however a quick trip to reception rectified the issue swiftly and they even gave us some extra goodies for issue which was a pleasant surprise. The pool area was good, the pool was cold, but there was excellent 360 views across the city. The hotel is situated by a shopping centre and next to the train station and metro, not that you would notice as I couldn’t hear noise from anyone or trains just the occasional siren. The breakfast was well worth the extra pennies as well, loads of choice, fresh omlettes and pancakes as well the usual cold and hot meats etc. overall well placed hotel 15 mins from the airport with great links into town, friendly accommodating staff and nice atmosphere. Would definitely stay again and worth the money. Even got a bit of cake for my birthday which they noticed from check in details rather than asking!!

Close to train station. Great for departure to airport. Dinner was very good. Breakfast excellent. Price a bit higher due to Expedia booking. Recommend booking direct or other less expensive agent.

Near to the Beach, but a lot of stones and not very pleasant No good restaurants and No shopping

We stayed in the Barcelo Malaga on the first and last night of our recent trip to Andalusia and we loved it both times. We chose the hotel because of its proximity to the train station and we are very glad we did. It is very modern and clean, the rooms are very well equipped, the beds are comfortable and we really liked the outdoor area. We sat out both nights and made the most of the fabulous weather. The slide is fun too!

Used to be an exceptional hotel in its hayday but now getting tired and dated. The aircon was noisy but without it was too hot for a restful night, aircon was set at 23C, which itself is comfortable temperature for sleeping, but when the air-conditioning unit kicks in the resonance was enough to wake us. The laminate flooring is creaking as it is detached from the base layer. Five stars for the staff.

Love the location of this hotel because it is directed connected to train station. The hotel is only about 15 minutes from the town center. The only inconvenience is getting out of the parking lot because of an unmanned guard gate. It took our Uber 15 minutes to simply be allowed out of the parking lot.

Overall, we enjoyed our 4 nights but not without some reservations. The hotel is part of the central station/shopping mall complex so it's a fantastic location for those arriving in Malaga by train - even from the airport. On entering the hotel late on a Saturday afternoon, the first thing we noticed were some slightly unpleasant odours. The odours are obvious in the underground and around the Guadalmedina river so we assumed it's some kind of local drainage problem. At the end of a long hot day you can even smell it in communal areas up on the 6th floor - thankfully not in the room though which is an important point to make. The relatively small rooftop patio was crowded when we arrived, a little less so on following days. The pool is about 2.5metres x 5metres and therefore a little on the small side but it's ok for cooling down at the end of the day. On our first morning (Sunday) the breakfast area was crowded. The food selection is reasonable and they seem to make some small changes every day. A powered shutter blind in the room was a nice touch and it keeps the room dark if you want to lay in. A kettle was provided in the room but no complimentary tea, coffee or milk which seems a little poor for a hotel charging as much as the Barcelo. The staff we met were very helpful and friendly with good English skills. If you do book this hotel, you will probably enjoy it, don't pass up the opportunity of using the slide between the 1st floor and the reception area.

Great hotel in an excellent location. Rooms were clean and mostly well maintained. Breakfast buffet was fantastic with a great choice of food and drinks. We loved the hotels USP! A slide to the bar - great fun!

This property was exactly as advertised.. The one thing to note is that the pool is very shallow (maybe 3 feet). This isn't a problem but just something to note.

Brilliant hotel in a great location, train station on your doorstep, shopping centre as well. Pool on the roof with a good bar, what more could you want.

Excellent hotel in a good location next to the main train station. Very quiet, comfortable hotel, huge bed, nice modern bathroom and 4 lifts that meant you don’t wait an age for one to come along. We only had a sandwich one lunchtime but that was good. Two gripes - the overhead shower was dismal, hardly any flow at all but there was a powerful hand held shower in mitigation. And we waited 15 minutes to check out at 10.00hrs. Not all stations were manned (unlike when we checked in at 14.30hrs on Sunday afternoon) and one guy must’ve taken 10 minutes to check in one couple. Would recommend but plan your exit carefully!

The property is ok but could use a little upgrade

As a group of 3 girls, the room was great with 3 seperate beds. Breakfast there was enough to choose from. We got the train from the airport to the accommodation as it was only a couple of euro. Train station is next door to hotel which was great too. The slide in the hotel just makes it very unique and fun. Overall I would definitely stay here when I return to Malaga. Beautiful city

Barcelo Malaga is accessible through the train station. The location is about a 15 minute walk to the plaza. Getting a cab to the port area and beach is inexpensive, quick and well worth it!

This property is absolutely amazing! We would highly recommend. The staff are exceptional. Very clean, safe, quiet. Comfy beds and pillows.

Really nice hotel. Good facilities. Nice varied breakfast. Comfy room and great size bed. Fabulous location for train, and a short 20 min walk into main centre. Note: pool is not massive, but great for a quick dip to cool you off. House keeping can run quite late in day, so room not always cleaned by 4pm, but not an issue if out and about.
