It's my second time staying here. Compared to all other hotels with the Grand Canal view, nothing beats this hotel's price.
The only downside is you have to be ok to climb long narrow steps as the hotel is located on top of the building without any elevator (it's an old building). But of course, the top view is the best!

Great location, reasonably comfortable bed, hot shower and lovely breakfast. Staff were excellent. A great place to stay for a long weekend.

What I dont like on my stay is they always know when the guest is going out and going in. They are also very strict with visitors.
But if you’re okay with that, the place is very clean, comfortable and cozy. Friendly receptionist.

On arrival we found 69 steps up to reception, there was no air conditioning, the room was dark and gloomy, and the bed was no more than a camp bed which raised in the middle causing you to roll off, on complaining to staff nothing was done, the room was very expensive and nothing short of a disgrace.

We have just enjoyed 4 nights stay, we got upgraded to an apartment due to someone else cancelling and the room was amazing , couldn't have asked for a better location, views of the rialto bridge and the morning gondalas whilst enjoying breakfast. All staff very helpfull and polite especially the guy serving the lovely breakfast each morning.

Erica, Nicolletta and Michael were extremely warm and friendly and so helpful with their suggestions!! The hotel is perfect and centrally located to everything. No complaints from the beginning to the end.

The room is super small and the floor is slanted. You need to ring the bell to get into the hotel but one day I stood in front of the hotel in the rain for 10 min with no one answering.

Convenience location, Close to Liberta bridge. All staffs are nice, room is quiet and comfortable. I didn't mind steps up to the front desk because I had only my backpack, I didn't carry my luggage. but if you inform that on first page on homepage, It would be much kindness for all of us.

the only issue was the 4 flights of stairs getting to the front desk. it was a challenge. 😮💨😮💨 anyone with mobility issues or older (like us) will find it diffucult. lovely once you are there.

70 steep steps (4 stories) to get to the lobby and room was beyond dissapointment. We had two 50lb suitcases as well as backpacks due to a three week travel plan (a staff member did assist). We should have been advised.

Front desk staff are nice and warm! We had a triple room which was very spacious. The view of red roof and bell tower from the window is impressive. Steps away from Rialto Bridge and market, but the hotel is still quite and safe.

Brilliant location close to the Rialto bridge. Charming old building. Very helpful staff. Somewhat daunting stairs up to reception but we were aware of that. Would certainly stay again.

After walking up 3 flights of stairs to the lobby. We had to walk up another flight of stairs to the attic room. That if over 5 7 you will not fit in the toilet room or shower. Then the red velvet wallpaper and the mirrors over the bed was a surprise Breakfast was great with amazing views of the grand canal. Location is great for grand canal transportation and walking to St Marco square

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
As long as you are fit I would strongly recommend this hotel but if you struggle with stairs it’s not for you as there are 69 to get to reception.

Excellent location and very nice accommodations in a traditional small European hotel. Just need to be prepared to climb stairs since hotel is on the 3rd floor with no elevator.

This is our third stay at Locanda Sturion!🙂. Wonderful location with great views of the grand canal and Rialto Bridge. The room was perfect! Spotlessly clean, freshly updated bathroom with high quality fixtures and fittings. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. All just perfect for our 2 night mini break in Venice!!

Location, location, location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good selection for the buffet breakfast. Only thing to be aware of is the 72 stairs to reception as they are quite steep.

Nice location with friendly staff, lovely view over the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge, 10 minutes walk to Piazza San Marco ,Basilica San Marco, Campanilla San Marco and Doge Palace. Easy to get to the hotel from Piazza Roma about 25 minutes walk.

Great location near the Rialto bridge. Helpful staff—I couldn’t have gotten my bags up or down the 68 steps without their help. The building is ancient and charming, but needed to keep the windows open to cool the air.

Lots of steps to reach room. No elevator! Rooms are very small and tight. Noisy when setting up for breakfast due to location of our room.

We were thrilled with the location of our hotel as it made it easy to see Venice and stop back into our room as needed. We found it easily and received grrat directions on how to return to the train station. Room was quaint and food was great. Very happy with our decision. Send one party member up the stairs to check in before you haul up your luggage. We were pleased to be on the way up the stairs. (Note if you get this room lock your door. You are across from the luggage room. We had a few people think that our room was where their suitcase was hanging out.)

A lovely apartment, clean, spacious and the ebst location! Ok so there are a lot of stairs to climb, but if you are moderately fit its really not a problem! The breakfast was lovely, fresh warm bread put onto your table as you arrived and I asked for a cappuccino every morning Instead of the instant coffee and they happily made it! A great stay and we would deffinately return to this hotel.

This hotel is historical in nature so definitely not modern. The decor is very old but the view is sensational. We had suite #1 with 2 huge windows overlooking the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge. The stairs to the hotel itselfwere a challenge with our luggage, 71 steps straight up, but we were made to feel very welcome with cold lemonade and iced-tea upon arrival.

Immediately friendly response from hotel on booking. Clear directions given for reaching the hotel. Welcoming on arrival and couldn't be in a better location for seeing all the sights.

This is a friendly, comfortable, reasonably priced hotel, but you must not mind stairs. it's 3 flight up, but it's worth it for the value and location. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
