Didn't meet expectations.

Good location to ferry port and national park. Nice beach bar but closed early. The buffet breakfast had a good amount of choice, but options were a bit hit and miss.

Don't feel the hotel was as advertised. In desperate need of an update. Felt very 80s. Paint touches in the hotel were shoddy, decorators in desperate need of some masking tape. The 'pool' advertised is a kiddie pool and during our stay it wasn't even filled up. The hotel also advertised as having WiFi but this isn't available anywhere except the lobby. We wasted a lot of data here. We looked at the buffet dinner for €20 as saw good reviews about it but there were limited options, looked a bit like school dinners and although we arrived at the start time food looked a bit dried out. Very minimal options for vegetarians. We spend some of our time sunbathing but had lots of handymen around painting and drilling which didn't make us feel very relaxed. Overall we were hoping to sunbathe, lie by the pool, have a nice dip and relax. Didn't feel this way here. If you have the option to come for the day, I would recommend not staying.

Great location and there is great potential, but this hotel needs major renovations first

The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. Very quiet. The staff were helpful. The buffet dinner for €20 each had lots of selection but we couldn’t even get a glass of water without paying for it. It would be nice if non-alcoholic drinks were included in the price. Nice balcony so we could sit outside.

Rooms were small. Wifi didn’t reach our room. There is no elevator in the “Pavilion” building so we had to lug our luggage up several flights of stairs (there were no offers to help). The configuration of the room meant that the wardrobe door smashed into the main door hinge every time it opened. Better to just remove the doors altogether as it’s not functional the way it is. We kept tripping over the strip on the floor between the bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom lighting needs to be improved. There is no safe in the room for valuables.

The location was good.

All the halleays smelled really badly, breakfast didn't taste good and hotel restaurants served awful food.

Paradise of the nature

Best location ever , view unforgettable, excellent staff, pin forest everywhere , beautiful lakes nearby , sea water brilliant clear in blue green colour , great breakfast and dinner , without noice at night. Don't miss to visit this pearl of Adriatic see.

A great pool area in a great location, but the building itself needs a big overhaul.

The location can not be bettered. A true paradise.

Exceptional

Do not be out off by the low(ish) rating of Hotel Odisej. We had quite low expectations but the hotel, staff, setting, facilities were all excellent. Yes, it’s a little tired in places, but for a dream-like location and view, this place is hard to beat. The wellness centre is an added bonus with treatments and a free sauna for guest. Wi-Fi works in communal areas, deal with it.

It was amazing.

Overall experience was excellent. All staff contributed to that. The hotel has an excellent manager, their chef is amazing, as well as receptionists, waiters/waitresses, cleaning ladies etc. Food was amazing.

Perfect for exploring Mljet national park.

This is only hotel in national park. Is on perfect location for exploring Mljet national park. Hotel has nice rooms, breakfast and dinner were self served with outstanding choice of very tasty food. All personel was very friendly and helpful. Big recomendation!

The room was generally comfortable (albeit fairly basic) but there were obvious signs of damp/areas of mould above the shower in the bathroom, which you could smell as soon as you entered the room.

Superb

Perfect location and we had a wonderful view of the sea from our balcony. The staff was friendly, the property was well kept, and the bed was comfortable. We had the half-board option, and the buffet dinner and breakfast were both good with a large variety of choices.

The Wifi signal did not reach our room. You can see the Wifi access point in the hallways, and it just seems to depend if your room is near one or not. The wifi worked well in the common area and at the beach bar.

Incredible location and value for money

Incredible location, beautiful beach bar, amazing views from the balcony, and super cheap for what you get. .

There was lots of choice of food, but the standard was pretty poor. The pillows were really uncomfortable.

Pleasant visit to Mljet

The hotel is in a great location - directly beside the port so easy access from the ferries. The National Park is a short walk away. The staff were very helpful - we were looking to hire bikes and they suggested we wait until we got to the small bridge in the park - this was very useful as one of the pathways into the park had a number of steps so was a lot easier without carrying bicycles. We hired the bikes for 2 hours at the bridge at that worked fine for us. Rooms and bathrooms are a little dated but were comfortable and suited our needs. We were in the Pavillion which I preferred as the first building had the restaurant and had a lingering smell of food.

As some other reviews have commented, it's canteen style dining. There were a lot of different options available but if we were staying longer we would have been looking to eat out.

fantastic location by the sea, clear waters to swim in, only 15 minutes walk and you are at the lakes of the National park, good choice at breakfast, staff were friendly, definitely worth having a balcony/sea view- loved waking up to that view

Make sure you get what you paid for

Friendly staff. The first room we were given was very disappointing and not what we thought we had booked - this was rectified by getting a different room the next morning when one became available. Buffet meals are rarely great but this was as good as I've had at this price.

The room we were given was very small and didn't match the pictures from Booking.com Had I not done my research I would have accepted this room was normal and never known I'd been wrongly treated. Shower water was at the top end of warm - not the bottom end of hot. Air conditioning in the first room didn't work and in the second room it wasn't very good.
