Excellent value and enjoyable stay. You can park outside for free between 5pm and 9am which works well, parking during the day is by way of a good value pay and display carpark 100 yards away. Friendly bar with an excellent menu. Have stayed several times to date and would book again.

Quaint place, clean and excellent value for money.

Ok stay, balanced by strong negatives and positives of hotel.
Negatives:
Wifi did not work in room.
Shower takes about 15-20 min for lukewarm water.
Toilet needs about 2-3 flushes to fully flush.
Room was very small (though this was somewhat set in expectations).
Positives:
Receptive staff to problems.
Good service in breakfast and bar.
Location and (depending on day) free adjacent or extremely close parking.

Lovely stay in a hotel with lots of history and even a ghost! Room was a bit tired, but functional and clean. Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast was good, the lady serving was very very helpful and nothing was too much trouble!

We loved the history of Dobbins Inn and its location. Beautiful scenery! Breakfast next to the fire in the dining area and tea time in the afternoon was relaxing.

Warm welcome and friendly staff. Room clean and tidy. Bed was very uncomfortable but clean laundry. Breakfast was tasty and freshly cooked. Good location.

This hotel is a listed building. So, it has no insulation therefore it is very important that the heating works adequately. My room was freezing!! On mentioning to staff they brought an electric heater that was not adequate in warming up my room on one if the coldest nights of the year. I had a very uncomfortable night. In the morning on touching the bedroom radiator it was red hot! So the heating was switched off the previous night!
The tea at breakfast was out if a pump action thermos which was tepid, a fresh pot for each guest would have been welcome.
I paid £90 for my room and breakfast and was very disappointed. However I ate supper in the bar and it was first class.
The entrance where the reception is had an open fire that put putrid fumes all upstairs into the rooms.
All in all a very disappointing stay and definitely not worth the money.

This property was convenient to a few pubs and opposite Carrickfergus Castle (handy) but very average accommodation and noisy with people up and down stairs and opening and slamming doors till late!

Love this quaint place. Staff was absolutely wonderful and helpful. Bathroom is adequately updated for a great experience in a piece of history. Definitely recommend and would stay again.

I liked the feel or ambiance of the place with such a rich history. Would have liked for more of the history to have been shared. Shower was only good for petite people. Im not huge but not petite and it was tight. Friendly patrons and staff alike.

Good location for touring Belfast and Causeway Coast. Hotel recommended nearby Mayur Indian Restaurant which was excellent quality and value.

It is an old building. I enjoyed that but possibly the reason for poor internet (could not get it in
our room)
Loved Paula, she did the best she could. Also the housekeeper who helped out in the dining room at breakfast, she was great!

Staff lovely and friendly, I’m afraid everything else was awful.
Dirty shower with hair! Holes in bed sheets, loose toilet seat, no window, skylight that had debris falling down on to bed, to afraid to open it! Skirting boards extremely dusty, no iron to freshen clothes, only one sample size shower gel and shampoo which was not enough for a couple. Hot water issue whereby you have to run the hot sink tap for 5 mins to get the shower to run hot but there is no sign explaining this, we had to go down to reception, so so disappointed :-(

Enjoyed a very relaxing stay in Dobbins. Very comfortable sleep followed uo by excellent freshly cooked breakfast. Good location for Antrim's attractions.

It is not often that you have the chance to stay in a 12th Century property with 21st Century amenities, but Dobbins Inn is one such place. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, the food was excellent (we had dinner one night as well as the included breakfast). The wi-fi was a bit patchy, but that was understandable given the 3 foot thick walls! Carrickfergus is a lovely town with a great castle, and St. Nicholas' Church is a hidden gem. We would book again in a heart-beat!

Quaint is what I would describe the hotel it has its charm , it old and it looks it but again that's it's charm if your expecting 5 star luxury then your not going to get it but then again your not paying 5 star prices either , let's just say the hotel is cute it's across the road from the castle which is basically all there is to see and the castle tour was good plus relatively inexpensive kids will love it there's an awful lot of work to be done so be aware plus it's not really accessible for disabled patrons , but back to the hotel we got room 16 and I was surprised by how big it was the bed was huge which is a plus , when I first sat on it both back and front kind of elevated which I thought oh oh this is not going to be good but surprisingly I had a FANTASTIC nights sleep the duvet and pillows were great and over all very very comfortable the bathroom was clean and big with a shower over the bath not great again if you have problems throwing your leg over a bathtub and not a great shower you have to turn on both taps to operate it which is time consuming to try get the right temperature which again was not really possible as the pressure was not ideal plus you need to let the water run in the hot tap for quite a while to acutely get hot water , so not great over all I actually liked the whole place and would return the food is excellent the breakfast WONDERFUL it's not the Ritz but it's not too bad either if you like charm and historic then it has it in bucket fulls

My Husband and I stayed at the Dobbins inn on Friday 23rd June. The staff are professional helpful and was very intentive to us as guests. The food and service was excellent and room 22 was very clean and inviting. All the staff made our stay memorable. This is a place steeped in history the surroundings are fantastic. The owners of this Hotel and all the Staff deserve 5 stars. Thankyou.

Very comfortable and quiet. We only stayed for the 1 night and had to leave early for the ferry. The staff organised an early breakfast for us so we could eat before we left. Will definitely stay at Dobbins again:)

Our stay at the Dobbin Inn was fantastic the staff were so nice, helpful and friendly. The room was clean and the towels changed every day. This is a homely friendly hotel, and it is nearly 500 years old and over looks the castle. If you are looking for top friendly service and excellent food you would be hard pushed to find better.

We had a lovely one night stay at the Dobbins Inn. Staff were super friendly and even kept our food in the fridge as we were camping the next night. Carrickfergus itself is sweet at there's a lovely yoga studio around the corner where we went to an excellent class.
