Stay away from this disaster of a hotel! My recent experience at the Fort Lauderdale Grand Hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment I stepped foot into the lobby, I knew I had made a grave mistake.
Let's start with the room. The door looked like it had been kicked in a dozen times and hastily patched up with some cheap paint; on top of it all, the lock was broken and was moving up and down as nothing was holding it. It did not lock, making me feel unsafe throughout my stay. The room itself was a breeding ground for nightmares. Rust covered every appliance in sight, making me question whether they were even safe to use. The ceiling was riddled with termites, and I swear I saw them scurrying around during the night. As if that wasn't bad enough, black mold seemed to have made itself at home in every corner, thriving in the damp, musty atmosphere.
The bathroom was even worse. The showerhead sprayed water in all directions except down, and the tiles were so old and cracked that I was afraid to touch them. Don't even get me started on the towels—they looked like they hadn't been washed since the 80s.
The staff were completely indifferent to the state of the hotel. When I brought up my concerns about the condition of the room, they simply shrugged and told me they were fully booked and couldn't move me to another one. It was clear that they couldn't care less about the comfort or safety of their guests.

The room was not bad and no issues with the staff until checkout. At my mistake I left my wallet in the room at checkout. I was 300 miles away before I realized. By that time my cards were already being used. Since the housekeeping only has access I can only assume that instead of being nice and at least returning my ID and other necessary cards, they decided to go shopping.

This hotel is an absolute dump! The pictures are definitely photoshopped or a room that was don’t nice for the purposes of the photos. Paint is torn off the wall. The toilet had poop stains in it. The floor was sticky. The linens looked like they had been urinated on - they were yellow! The smell is absolutely sickening almost made me vomit - I stood in the room maybe an hour - and left! I went to another hotel! Drunk people in the lobby, the reception desk was drinking and smoking. It was gross! Ewwww! Just the thought of that place and even leaving this review. I wouldn’t even wish it on my worse enemy! Don’t stay here! Stay away for sure! I requested a refund when I went to the counter and they ghosted me and never returns any of my emails or phone calls!

If I could give ZERO STARS I would. We left immediately after seeing our room and the environment around the property. It’s a cheap sleazy drug infested slum. Losing the money for the room was much better than even sitting on the bed or toilet. Absolutely disgusting!

The rooms appeared to be “renovated” but I believe the contractors were either blind or never held a tool in their life. The beds were about as soft as bricks, the overall cleanliness was disgusting. Cockroaches running around the room, musty smells and light bulbs missing from lamps.

Hotel is located by a couple restaurants. The lights didn't work in the bathroom area at all. The toilet wouldn't flush all the way. I had a big cockroach walk from the tv stand to the bed. For the price, I expected much more.

It was very unique in the fact that it was the most unsafe , loud place i had ever seen.
The receptionist with the nose ring and tattoos and earphones was unhelpful.

The staff have been super nice. The cleanliness of the hotel could be a lot better. Rooms are outdated. Walls are paper thin. The pool area looks ok but the pool itself looks dirty. For the price you can’t be too surprised.

Literally the worst hotel experience of my life. Room was absolutely filthy, stains on bed sheets, hair in the bed, no cover on the "quilt/comforter" if you can even call it that.
Walked out 15 minutes after check in to go somewhere else because it was so bad. Manager wasn't there to handle anything, I had to call repeatedly over the next couple days and still the manager was never "available" and nobody there could or would provide a refund for the experience.
Avoid like the plague, because it actually might contain the plague.

The pictures do not show the dirt. You will pay 4.95 each night for parking and 31.95 each night for a service fee and 100.00 deposit all for this dump. I hate false advertising. Ok wait the lobby was kinda fancy and clean. We had unwanted guests in our room also total ripoff

Pictures were very old from website. 4stars? Whole place was in disrepair. Sticky floors, bad smell, sketchy neighborhood, lifeless front desk attendants and NO REFUNDS

Worst experience. They do not have toilet paper holder in toilets, sink clogs, flush doesn't work properly, floor had holes, light did not work. Their staff was not supportive, asked us to wait for maintenance to come at night. We checked out in 30 mins. I paid about $400+ for a night for two rooms to get this experience. Also, do not be fooled by seeing their lobby photos, lobby is great, but corridor and rooms are bad.

12/20/2023: No sooner than 10 minutes after checking in and finding my room, a man in an adjacent room began firing a hailstorm of gunshots, and I could hear at least one other man yelling for help and yelling for the police. I then had hid in my hotel room bathtub for 3 hours as the gunman barricaded himself in the hotel room and continued firing out his hotel room window toward sheriff deputies and the SWAT team that came on scene. During a lull of gunshots I was able to finally flee the hotel room unscathed. As I exited through the lobby, the front desk employee was still at the desk and I asked how I can get my money back after living through absolute hell, and his only response was “uhh, I can try but management makes the final decision.” Most traumatic, dangerous, and disrespectful hotel experience I could have fathomed was even possible. And they brushed it off like it’s just another Tuesday night in Fort Lauderdale! NOT WORTH THE CHEAP ROOM.

This is a good hotel for a quick business travel, but for a family trip, the cleanliness is poor as well as the furniture. The entire hotel needs a pressure cleaning and a good painting.

I don't like leaving bad reviews but it really is not a nice hotel. The hall are horrible, dark, they have old machines in the hallways, the rooms are normal. But there are much better hotels with the same price. Twice in the night there was a loud knock on our door. no no no. Don't stay here.

The check in process was very smooth, the housekeeping services made my stay comfortable, the bed and bedding were extremely comfortable leading to several restful nights of sleep. The refrigerator in the room kept my beverages and snacks cool.

There was no towel in the rest room-> the whole place smells like weed and urine// In our room none of the electrical outlet would work// the bed sheet smelled like weed- and smell of weed and urine in the common area. The air condition has some time of yellow mold on it - and would start with a loud bang - I also see urine outside our room. There was a concert in the premise and we were forced to listen to loud bang and noises. When I mentioned all these to front desk- the indifference to our issues for a room we paid for is just unjust. I wonder how this hotel can even be listed in Expedia- prison condition is better than this- then they wanted $100 deposit- nothing in the room could even be $100 worh- yellow dust and mold every where - bed sheet smells like weed and no towels to be found in the hotel.

This was a terrible experience. The entire hotel was dirty and many spots smelled like marijuana. The room was dirty and the shower water pressure was extremely low. The window curtains hung down over the AC and the two options were either have the curtains stifle the AC or leave the curtains open and have anybody walking by able to see right into your room. There were also zero available outlets in the room for plugging in devices to charge, we had to move around furniture and unplug existing cords to charge our phones. The room was also right by a busy street with loud traffic and train tracks that had multiple trains blaring their horns during our stay.
