A room not a homestay

The room is small but well cleaned, A/C and the fan were both great. The bathroom was very small but had good hot water. Its great value for money the owner is friendly when you see him but he is only a phone call away.

It is not a homestay as advertised as the owner doesn't live/stay there. I had to let myself in key was left on the window so you don't get the personal touch like a genuine homestay, toilet paper and towels are not provided which is very poor. Communal areas are not that clean. It's positioned away from everything in not the best part of the town no lights so a torch would be a good idea. Puducherry town is a bus or tuk tuk ride away. It is not a bad place if you want to be away from the noise and crowds, it wasn't what i expected from the description or reviews maybe it's just me, but i have been travelling around India for the last couple of months and stayed mainly in homestays . I can see there would be lots of people who would like the tranquility. If on a budget it is fantastic if you want a homestay look elsewhere.

Perfect

The room has all we needed, and the property is located in a very silent and local neigbourhood. There is AC, WiFi, hot water and the host is very happy to provide what else we needed (kettle). The host is super helpful and made our stay just perfect! Highly recommended!

Very good

The host was too kind and friendly. He always made sure we were okay. He even offered us coffee in the morning. I might stay again only for the wonderful hospitality and service (ps: if the price is reduced)

The location is far from the centre. Considering the location and the amenities offered, cost for the room was way too much.

Exceptional

The stay was very pleasant and it didn't feel like we were an outsider staying there. It completely felt like home. We really liked staying here. Mani was very friendly and was always checking in with us for all the necessities in prior. He also helped us with places to visit in and around pondicherry as well. It's a real homestay. I would definitely prefer to revisit and stay whenever I'm going to Pondicherry. I just slightly missed having a tv which didn't seem to bother me at all, cause we were out all day and tired all night. Friendly owners, cute kittens, fresh greenery, blossomed flowers, rustic stairs etc. And at silent nights you hear soothing waves from the sea which is very calming on the terrace. Everything was perfect.

Everything was intact! Nothing bad. The only concern was that there were guys alternatively drinking opposite to the stay everyday which kept me alert at all times which again has nothing to do with the stay. Because the stay has 24/7 working cameras, gates and doors locked which helped me feel safe inside. Hope there is some action taken from all the residents across.

Just my feelings

Mr. Mani Shankar, the proprietor is a man beyond words. His Hospitality is like rose touching . The person just touches your heart deep. The property is in a solitary place but give you a divine peace fulfilling your aim of travel.

Worst unsafe hostel

I'm a solo traveller and I'm travelling solo for 4 years but I haven't come across a hostel worse like this. Mani the hostel owner was a very rude person. He commented on my lip stick, threaned that there are many cruel hostels in pondicherry than this. I felt so unsafe. Night at 10pm he came and literally asked when am I vacating and when i said i will only leave by 12 pm as said in bookings.com he started fighting. The area the hostel is in also unsafe. Also the hostel doesn't have any beach view as mentioned in website. I suffered a lot because of this owner and this hostel. So please don't choose for your own safety. He didn't give bedsheets, and didn't switch on AC till night

It was splendid.

Though my arrival time was 9.30PM, the host came from his home immediatly handedover the key and even arranged food for me. Nice and safe place to stay. Serenity beach is very nearer.

Comfortable stay

Mr. Mani was very polite and humble person..He guided us about places to stay, time to spend, food throughout our stay, homestay was clean and located in less crowded area and no disturbance... Overall it was comfortable stay

Here are few things which need clarity or need of improvement 1.Stay was not Beachfront, we can hear waves but its not visible even from terrace( covered by trees) 2. Serenity Beach is approx 1+ km by walk 3. About 100m to the stay location is confusing as it's not properly connected via paved road 4. Bedsheets provided were clean but not at all comfortable

Didn't allow us to stay. He said Tindivanam guys are not allowed. He should have mentioned that earlier. Its a discrimination..

Mani is a very kind and helpful host. The rooms are very clean, the view from the roof terrace is very nice. The place is located halfway between Pondicherry and Auroville, a bicycle can be a nice way to move around the area.

It should only be taken into account that during summer time it is very hot, and that the neighborhood is not the cleanest, with garbage around the streets and nature.

Very nice room, good location halfway between central Pondi and the lovely beaches to the north. Manisankar and his wife were very sweet, always ready to help. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended. Thanks for everything!

I liked the view from the roof top I could be there all day. The area is quite local but I felt very safe and tranquil air. The owner Mani is also very kind and takes a good care of guests.

If there is a table in the room/roof top I could have worked effectively.

Lovely place with lovely hosts!

Very good value for the money. Simple but comfy and with everything you need. Mani Sankar, the owner, is always available and very kind, as well his wife and his manager. It was very quiet and everything in the room are very brand new.

It is not very central but with a quick ride you are in Auroville or the beautiful promenade.

Humble quiet and nice place

I liked the location of the place because everything is nearby and easily accessible. Also they have a private parking lot to car Max 2 cars inside the property. Also the host Manisankar is extremely humble and polite. He and his wife who manages the property took care of everything and i was extremely satisfied with the service. Best place when compared with the price. Surely do visit

Room seemed a little small to my liking. Wish they provided a table and a chair as well. But everything else is very good and upto standard
