Come experience what an East Beach Cottage is all about! This 4 bedroom, 4 bath home is located in the desirable East Beach neighborhood... East Beach is convenient to numerous Island shops and restaurants, as well as the Historic Coast Guard Station. It is a great neighborhood that has easy access to the beach. The beach is an easy walk - only .3 miles... 1813 Bruce Drive is nestled amongst wonderful live oaks on an oversized corner lot complete with white picket fence. The fence is 3/4 surrounding the property, so not completely enclosed. Hardwood floors throughout the main living space and marble tile in 2 bathrooms are complimented by bead board ceilings and a tabby fireplace... It maintains that classic quaint cottage feel however has an updated kitchen to include granite counters and state-of-the-art appliances, expansive laundry room, large screened-in porch right off the kitchen, and a large front porch with Adirondack chairs and swing... The fourth bedroom and bath is located in the private guest house which is above the garage turned game room, which has a Ping Pong Table, Foosball table and full sized refrigerator. The guest house living quarters (accessible by exterior stairs) features a large den with a sleeper sofa and day bed. It also has its own small refrigerator and Keurig coffee maker. There is a bedroom with a king bed and full bathroom attached directly to the bedroom. This space is perfect for the in-laws or another family wanting their own space... My wife and I and her 3 sisters and their husbands met for a get-together. We were delighted with the accommodations! It is a nice quiet neighborhood, plenty of places to sit and visit, the house is clean and has a very well stocked kitchen for cooking and serving meals. Kenyon K

The Beach Cottage was perfect for our week at the beach. The property was exactly as described and the suite over the garage was a great option. The beach was easy to access. We were especially impressed with the kitchen: plenty of dinnerware and cookware. Kevin was extremely helpful with check-in and answered any questions we had. He responded immediately to resolving an issue that required some maintenance. We highly recommend the cottage for future rentals. It was an excellent choice for our 3 generation family of 7.

Loved this bungalow!! So cute and cozy and hated so badly to leave!! Kevin was quite helpful and responsive to all questions regarding check in and out. Can’t wait to go back!

We loved this property, especially the front porch and the large screened in porch! Our kids had a ball playing foosball in the converted garage. The proximity to the beach, the village, playground, etc. was terrific. However we found that for our family, renting a golf cart was absolutely essential for hauling chairs, kids, etc to the beach.

Online pics don’t show how much room there actually is! We loved the front porch and screened porch off the kitchen. We all played ping pong and other games in the garage and appreciated the extra full size fridge for beverages. The walk to the beach isn’t bad even with the scorching hot temps. Kevin touched base with us upon check-in and when we had any questions he responded right away. Great stay!

My family and I had a relaxing, comfortable stay. The home offers excellent amenities and a location that makes beaching and sight-seeing super easy. Kevin was highly responsive and amenable to requests we made. The apartment above the garage got a little hot, but the AC rebounded quickly with temperature adjustments.

Beautiful property with just a few small issues involving trouble with the Smart Lock and the front door having issues with opening. An extra set of house keys would be nice also. Otherwise, a great stay!

We have family that lives full time on SSI, and before getting to The Cottage we were fully expecting to just use it as a place to sleep. We were mistaken! We hardly left the area and family decided to visit us instead. The 6th St. beach entrance was perfect to set up "base" for the day without too many people around- even for July 4th! We did rent a Moke to help get kids and beach supplies back and forth easier. Having the garage was great for storage and its second refrigerator and freezer was huge! The house was clean, stocked, and ready upon arrival.
We wish there was an outdoor shower but the garden hose worked just fine to clean off sandy legs and kids. Will be back!

Had the best time with family as we celebrated our daughter's wedding. Location was great for beach and restaurants. We loved the separate areas of the house to spread out and spend some alone time.

This was our 4th year staying here and we enjoy it more each year. The front porch is so welcoming and the perfect place to sit with coffee or a glass of wine. The bedrooms were perfect for 3 couples, and my husband and I and our baby used the garage apartment. It was great to have quiet space for him to nap and sleep. We can’t wait to book again.

We come to St Simon’s East Beach often and this was our first time to rent this house. It was a wonderful house with a big screened porch. All aspects were top notch. Now our favorite stay.

The house was perfect for myself and group of friends for a girls weekend. We loved all the common areas to relax in including the screened patio and front porch. It is walking distance to the beach and the neighborhood is so beautiful. We cooked almost every meal at the house and needed nothing as the kitchen was very well stocked. The house was very clean and Kevin, the host, went above and beyond to take care of everything we needed. It was very hard to leave the beauty and peacefulness of the property and I would rent this house again in a second for future trips to St. Simons.

This home was absolutely fantastic. In every way. And the owner was extremely responsive when we had questions. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, this ranks among the top tier in beach houses on St Simon's Island. Especially if you have up to 8 people, which it easily accommodates without feeling cramped at all. I will go back here again for sure.

We had a incredible time for our week in this wonderful home - it is the house you look at and say, I wish I was staying there! And we were! The style, decor, and furnishings were lovely. The landscaping was very interesting and very well maintained. We were just one family, but there was room enough for 2 with the apartment over the garage - we couldn't decide between the master in the house or above the garage. The game room (former garage) was great fun too and also provided for beach supplies - wagon, chairs, toys.
The kitchen and mudroom/laundry room provided for everything we needed.
The walk to the beach was so enjoyable - down a short road, along a trail through a grass field and a short walk through the dunes. The beach is fantastic. And the town of SSI is great as well.
The hosts were very gracious and communicative as well. We will definitely be back!

We came here for a family trip and the house was very comfortable. The host was helpful and offered suggestions and was communicative when we needed to get in touch at the beginning of our stay.

Three generations of my family stayed in this house for seven days and there was not one argument or fight. Not that we're particularly combative people, but my boys are 8 and 9 and my dad is an acknowledged curmudgeon, so seven days of utter harmony is a landmark! I attribute all this love to the completely peaceful, beautiful and comfortable surroundings of the house on Bruce Drive. My parents loved the luxurious guest apartment over the garage, and my kids played Monopoly in the living room. The free wifi allowed my husband and I to even get a little work done. Having the (massive, gorgeous, nearly deserted) beach so close meant we could hop over there, fly a kite or build a sand castle, and come back for lunch rather than pack a huge cooler. We will recommend this lovely house to anyone who will listen. Thank you for sharing it!

No words can describe how perfect this house is for a relaxing getaway! From the comfortable accommodations, the precious decor and easy beach access, this house is perfect for anyone looking to escape to the beach and quaint town of St. Simons. It slept 9 people very comfortably... thanks to the amazing mother-in-law suite over the garage. All you will need is some fabulous food, delicious drinks and, of course, your bathing suit and flip flops. The owners are very gracious and helpful. You will undoubtedly leave wishing this was your own personal house!

East Beach is the nicest part of St. Simons, and this is a classic East Beach cottage. It is roomy, very comfortable, and beautifully decorated -- the photos don't do it justice. All the furnishings are first class. The neighborhood has a quiet, residential feel, and an uncrowded beach is a short walk away. The owners are very easy to deal with.

My family stayed here for eight days over the Thanksgiving 2010 holiday. It was a great fit for our group of eight (which included two small children). The grandkids were able to have a bedroom next to their parents and our youngest son and his new bride stayed in the suite over the garage. The kitchen is well appointed and the large laundry room with plenty of storage held our tons of stuff out of sight so the rest of the cottage looked neat. We had family visiting twice as well and found it was good for entertaining. The landscaped yard was lovely and the front porch was good for watching the youngsters run around the landscaped yard while we relaxed in the swing.
