Good service. Location was OK. Condition of facility was dated but ok. Breakfast was great. Mattress was obviously well worn with noticeable deep indents on each side. Needs replacing. Curtains for the sliding door were not room darkening and partially transparent. Would not stay again unfortunately.

Room had mold above the shower light, seal on shower leaked. Timer for fireplace was broken. For the price I expected much nicer amenities.

Although the property is listed as “pet friendly” on Expedia, I was charged an extra $250 fee for traveling with my well-behaved, clean, and quiet dog. The receptionist informed me they only have 4 pet friendly rooms on the whole property and apparently I wasn’t staying in one of them. Seems like that would have been helpful information during check-in instead of check-out. I would have taken my business elsewhere had I known of the fee beforehand.

The Lodge has a great family appeal with a nice view of the water across the street. It was exactly the close location we were looking for to go explore Door County during our visit to WI. Upon arrival we received a free appetizer of our choice in the bar, very yummy and every morning they had an omelette station, a nice upgrade to the traditional complimentary continental breakfast. Overall a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend!

Delicious breakfast, great nights sleeping, close to shopping and sights, were all enjoyed by us.
An older lodge with the north woods charm and hospitality.
Will plan on a return visit.

The Lodge exceeded my expectations because of how clean and comfortable our stay was. The room had a jacuzzi tub (I was leery about using it but it was super clean), fireplace, a small kitchen area, and separate living/ sleeping space, private patio. The decor throughout is a bit outdated (think a cozy stay at grandma’s) but not important to me. Our stay included breakfast- with waffles, an omelette station (served hot & fresh made to order!), breakfast muffins/ cereal, yogurt/ granola, juice/ coffee/ tea. The property has a lively bar/ bar type of restaurant with similar food choices. The staff here were all very welcoming and friendly. They also welcome guests staying with pets as pet friendly rooms are available. (We stayed without pets and I didn’t see or hear one the entire time I was there.) The lodge is right across the street from water/ a small marina. The only negative is that there is no fan and the rooms aren’t very sound proof- hallway noise & noise from above is very easily heard. We had a group of women outside our room conversing/ laughing with disregard to their noise level in the hallway until late. A white noise machine/ fan can help with that.

Place was super cute and friendly only thing that needs serious work is the pool.. it was very run down and filthy.. kids were wanting to swim and it was really gross

The room is musty smelling. The floor is dirty. I want my money back!! The manager was nice. But did not give me a new room. Was going to charge me for a upgrade!!! Ridiculous!!!For the money i spent on this room.. It should have been a really nice place .

I liked that is was older and had a lot of character, was very clean but roof and deck had a little mold from the dew, would definately stay there again

This property was once elegant if kitschy mid-century, and I visited out of curiosity.
The property needs a serious facelift and presumably structural work. Failing that, just removing the mold, painting, power washing the walkways and paying attention to landscaping would make a difference. It's likely wood rot has damaged the exterior and mold with snow may have damaged the roof. The rooms were quite noisy too. Flooring needs some work and sound deadening. Another guest made similar comments to me at checkout about the depressing condition of the property.
The beds were comfortable. The maids did a good job of cleaning but rooms were very musty due to water damage to the structure and carpeting. Would not doubt black mold exists in the walls.
None of my comments are likely news to the proprietors, but further delays in addressing issues might just spell the end of the Lodge.

The place is old and kinda run down looking. Building needs repairs and updating and so do the rooms. For $170 a night (a non weekend rate) I expect a lot more. The room was dated, and there was mold on the shower ceiling. The patio doors had these flimsy locks and even flimsier bar to keep it from opening.
They allow dogs but only in a few rooms, so call ahead before booking to ensure the dog rooms are free. Also they require you to put ur dog in a kennel while in the room even though they don’t say that on their policies until after you book.

The tub was old and disgusting. The shower head only hung straight down. The property overall needs repairs. The ceiling tiles at the registration desk have water damage stains. The room smelled musty. Only half the heating elements in the toaster work. The outdoor tiki bar/restaurant was fairly nice. Our waitress was slow and forgot my drink order twice. The beds were clean.

Bathroom doors don't lock. Balcony doors didn't lock. Shower faucet really bad. Carpet seemed like it was wet. room was dark and didn't have enough lighting. The iron was the smallest I've ever seen and didn't even iron the clothes properly.

It is a beautiful property. But, the inside of the hotel is old and worn out. Beds are old and uncomfortable, old lamps and chairs. I think if the owners would put some new furniture, beds, decor it would be worth the price they are charging. Currently you are paying for grounds and location, not the hotel itself.

Could use a lot of updating. Pretty run down. Shower did not work which resulted in my elderly family member having to get on her hands and knees to wash her hair. To expensive for its condition, however the staff were very friendly.

The property was nice, close to the water. It has its own restaurant and tiki bar. The breakfast includes house made omelets which were delicious. The wait staff for tiki bar was almost non existant. Couldnt get anyone's attention to wait on us.

Room was old and needed repair on essential items. The shower did not work no matter what I did to correct it. I could not call the front desk because there was NO PHONE in room. The room decorating was dark(ceiling and trim) and only had three table lamps with dim light bulbs to light up the whole room. Did not include a hair dryer for my wife. Skid resistant sticker on bottom of tub were removed but residue remained. Did make complaint to hotel personnel.

Excellent location. Extremely friendly & helpful staff. The rooms themselves could be updated. Fixtures etc. are dated. Overall an excellent experience though. And did I mention the friendly & helpful staff? 🙂

Property owners have done a great job keeping up with maintenance and care. I have stayed here for years and can say it’s never been better. Loved the tiki bar addition.

We got a big suite after a snafu at another place, so our experience might be different. Suite was great with a nice balcony to sit and listen to the birds with coffee in the morning. Lodge was old but maintained. Clean, but needs paint. Everything worked. Bed was comfy, shower was great. Breakfast was terrific with made to order omelets and tasty scones.

While the property was older and could have used lots of maintenance, the staff was very friendly, and the tiki bar area outside was nice and fun and made it an enjoyable experience.

This hotel has only several dog friendly rooms and those have additional fees plus the rooms are more expensive than standard. We needed an upgrade to come with our dog. Hotel staff was very helpful and gave us a great deal. Also they have fees for children over 12 but hotel did not charge us any additional fees since hotels.com did not mention it on their website. Overall a very positive experience!

We had a great experience on our 2 day stay. Very clean and comfortable room. Food was good also. We were going out at 6 am and the hotel made sure we had coffee and a roll, even thou the complimentary breakfast didn't open until 8 am.

The room was very out dated. The bed was not comfortable at all. I liked we had a patio. We tried to have dinner at the bar Friday but service was more concerned about regulars so we left. I probably wouldnt stay here again. Not for the price and quality of the room.

Friendly staff and great service!

property in good location to water.
The photos fail to communicate the "tired" state of the "lodge". Furnishings are old, and the place needs a fresh look to compete with competitors.
Staff was friendly, and helpful. As with everywhere you go these days, they are shorthanded and doing 2-3 jobs.
