Summary: Modern touches in a historic building- + Fully renovated apartment +Comfy queen size bed + 3 minutes to Downtown , Riverfront & Museum District +WIFI and wired internet (100 Mbps) and 2 Smart wall mounted TV's each with a Chromecast +Granite countertops +Stainless steel appliances +Wood flooring +Exposed brick The Space: The Franklin Street apartment building was used as Wilmington’s first hospital in the late 1800’s. The age and historic charm show through in the slightly slanted floors and exposed brick. The Cool Springs area of Wilmington, Delaware boasts beautiful homes and apartments with lots of historic charm, with a convenient location. Guest Access: Guess have access to the laundry room The Neighborhood: Cool Springs is filled with people who care and are involved in the neighborhood. There are many events including porch parties, Christmas caroling, Potluck dinners at the local art gallery. 1 block away is the 3rd Place where you can go to meet neighbors or for inexpensive coffee and free WiFi. There are beautiful historic homes including the University and Whist Club which was the home of James Tilton the first surgeon general of the United States. Convenient to downtown Wilmington, train station, bus line, Philadelphia, Newark DE, DuPont, Chase Bank, Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, Hagley Museum, Brandywine River Museum, Delaware Art Museum, DCAD, Wilmington University, Del Tech, Parks, AI DuPont Hospital, Christiana Care Hospital, St. Francis Hospital, Kennett Square, Widener Law University. Festivals include Greek Festival, Italian Festival, Polish Festival, Mushroom Festival, Chadds Ford Days, Brandywine Battlefield Revolutionary Times. Getting Around: We are convenient to Dart bus line, SEPTA train station, I-95, Philadelphia airport, BWI airport, Wilmington airport. There are plenty of garages, let me know if you need more than one. Other Things to Note: The unit has 2 doors, and private access to both. Keypad lock ensures easy access 24-7. Interaction with Guests: I am available most days as needed

From booking, to checking in, to checking out..seamless, painless and perfect. Luke was fantastic with directions, checking in to ensure all was good, quick to answer when I had a question. Spent 5 nights in this cozy, comfortable apartment. Close to everything within 15 drive. The most comfortable bed I've slept in while traveling. Great stay and first time in Wilmington. Luke and his rental have left a lasting impression...Thanks Luke

I highly recommend this a place to stay.
I took two weeks at Luke's place for a solo study retreat and loved it. The railroad-style apartment is spacious enough for one or two people to stay very comfortably. The kitchen is well equipped. The bed is one of the most comfortable I've ever had the pleasure of sleeping in. And Luke, the property manager, is very responsive, even to the point of swapping out the dull kitchen knives set that was there when I arrived with a set of fresh knives with great blades.
It's in a lovely neighborhood surrounded by well-tended homes and with a park across the street. The four-star is for location, and that's only because I was there without a car, and it's not a well-served neighborhood in terms of groceries, for instance, if you're on foot.

The property interior is very tasteful, the owner readily available, and the amenities plentiful. The only down side for us was the location, which is partly our fault. We did not realize the property would be smack in the middle of the city which we were unfamiliar with. Caused a lot of trouble for us to commute to various places.

Everything was accurate just like in the pictures & the entire place is sparkling clean. For me, I always appreciate when there’s access to at least 2 tv’s for reasons we all know when staying with other people. The neighborhood is peaceful with a park across the street, another about 2mins away and a handful of things to do in the area. Parking is very easy to find so that wasn’t stressful.

I was working in Christiana over the memorial day weekend and hotels prices were jacked up assuming because of the holiday so I tried VRBO for the first time and found this little place. It was perfect for what I needed. The place was clean and the bed (which I always struggle with at hotels) was perfect - not too hard and not too soft - yes I am Goldilocks. :) I really don't have anything bad to say about the place but if I had to come up with something, the staircase that leads up to the unit was really narrow making lugging a suitcase up there (in the pouring rain) a chore. I can only imagine moving in! The other negative was the unit had an odd Asian food smell. I assume it was the neighbors seeping in the unit but it was a little odd. Luke, the owner, was amazing at responding to issues. I had difficulty figuring out how to lock the front door's electronic lock and he immediately answered my email. Great first experience with VRBO.

Perfect apartment for our short trip to Delaware. Cleanliness is first and foremost for us and this was simply spotless! Well-stocked, quiet and parking was easy. We were able to get to PA easily and it was a simply drive down to the DE beaches.
My only slightly negative comment would be regarding some of the surrounding neighborhoods. Overall our stay was wonderful and the apartment is impressive.

I was here for 5 days. This property is convenient to the Wilmington waterfront and many restaurants. The wifi was great. I talked with Luke about a minor issue and he was very responsive.
