Acadia Lights Cottage\n
About this house rental
Jennifer, July 2015 "We absolutely loved staying at Marion and Pat's gorgeous house in Maine! Our daughter adored the lighthouse room, and slept like a dream every night. We bought clams and mussels and cooked in Marion's amazingly well equipped kitchen, enjoyed sitting on the porch taking in the incredible view, and when we felt like exploring, Acadia National Forest and Bar Harbor were just a short drive away. Can't wait to come back next year! Thanks again for everything" The space We invite you to vacation in our beautiful ocean view home facing Flanders Bay, Frenchman's Bay and the full panorama of Cadillac Mountain in the Schoodic Area of Acadia National Park. Our house is situated on the Old Route 1 Postal Road between the Scenic Coastal Highway of Maine and the shore of Flanders Bay in the Downeast Schoodic area. Wake in the morning to the sound of loons calling overhead, eagles and osprey circling the pristine bay outside the window, and the sunrise casting its brilliance upon Cadillac Mountain hovering over Bar Harbor in the distance. You will probably note the quaint spectacle of the lobster boats setting out for the days catch on Flanders Bay. Then, after a full day of kayaking, canoeing, hiking, birding, antiquing, or just enjoying the scenery of nearby Acadia National Park, relax on our old fashioned Victorian porch as you watch the glittering waves dance below the setting sun and the lights of Bar Harbor Town. We are located amongst several charming fishing villages and you can walk to the lobster shack at the end of our street for a full Lobster Maine dinner, Lobster or Clam Roll, or even just an ice cream cone. There are several excellent full service restaurants in the Schoodic Area which we can happily refer you to. Kayak and bike rentals are available for touring the Acadia National Park at nearby beautiful Schoodic Point. Or take a day trip by Ferry from Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor across Flanders Bay and Frenchman's Bay beyond. Explore our many local ponds including Tunk Lake, Little Tunk Pond or Donnell Pond run by the State of Maine where you might catch site of a moose! Or Climb Schoodic Mountain for breathtaking views. Our home is steeped in the history and tradition of Maine and was previously the site of the Acadia View Lodge during the earlier part of the last century. Over the past fourteen years we have completely renovated it in a way that captures the idyllic and unique ambiance of the area. The Log Room and The Acadia View Room both offer a queen-sized bed with luxury bedding. There is a third upstairs bedroom with a Queen Futon that is perfect for kids. And a pullout sofa bed in the downstairs den as well. Each of the new, full baths is equipped with towels, soap, shampoo, and hair dryer. Our downstairs bath has a new soaking tub as well.
