My home is in an upper-middle-class neighborhood. From my home, on a one-and-a-third acre lot, you can have an unobstructed, 180-degree view of the San Bernardino Mountains. This mountain range stays snow-covered from 4 to 5 months in the winter. Disneyland and Pacific Ocean beaches are 45 to 60 minutes away; downtown Los Angeles and Universal Studios are one hour away. You can go snow skiing or ice skating to winter resorts in 40 to 50 minutes. Redlands is a city with almost nonexistent crime. Nightlife is buzzing; even in these chilly winter nights (by Southern California standards), the local restaurant district stays busy with diners. Redlands also has the oldest and the only all-free summer concert program in the United States.
