Gorgeous apartment, loads of space, comfy beds
Was a bit warm initially but it cooled off & was comfortable

Good sized room, friendly staff, relatively comfortable bed, working kitchen appliances and TV
Very stuffy and a little humid

The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable.
The bathroom cold water tap and the exhaust fan in our family room (number 14) wasn't working. When I checked with reception I was told that it cannot be fixed. The Plumber has had a look before and has confirmed it cannot be fixed, which I thought is strange. There were no other rooms available. So I had to be in this room for 3 days. Brushing our teeth and washing our hands after going to the loo was a challenge as it had to be done from the kitchenette tap that's inside the room. Because you are staying with other family members this was a challenge.
Only 1 fan was placed in the corridor on the bottom floor away from the rooms. Which made it a bit claustrophobic on the 2nd and 3rd nights. The top floor had about 3 fans.
Because it is a family room and we had booked it for three nights, more consideration should have been given and a functional room should have been provided to us.

Was an underground experience
The place smelt terrible. Lack of power points. Portable fans in rooms cheap and noisy. Dishes in cupboards dirty. Carpets gross - leave your shoes on. Only saw cleaning staff… no reception staff. Very budget and in need of major upgrades. Much nicer underground places to stay.

Spacious and unuque

The friendly concierge and the cleanliness of the room were the redeeming features. The site is a former mine, which was also interesting. Guests can tour the entire venue to look at features left from the mine.
No tea or sugar in the room, only coffee sachets and a limited amount of portion control milk. We paid over $250 for a night's stay. The room was clean but dated, and the wood paneling was coming away from the limestone walls in two places inside the room. The bathroom was extremely tiny, and I continuously bumped my head on the towel rack every time I used the toilet. I expected more for the price, to be honest.

This place is central to everything: but the best part is Mel and her crew. Absolutely warm, embracing, loads of awesome recommendations.
This is outback living so don’t expect the ritz- although the hotel was still perfect for my stay and nothing too much trouble.
Coober Pedy is indescribable: go at least once to check it out!

Great room layput for such a small space. It's has an amazing wifi connection better than big cities. Lovely, welcoming staff. Awesome detailing in the walkways. Authentic mining feel. Kids loved seeing all the details.
No fans for circulation. Poor drainage for the shower. Water ran nearly to the carpet.

Such unusual and immaculate interior and surroundings. The staff were vibrant, helpful and made us feel welcome.
The clothes dryers were all ok when we arrived which made the cave setting toasty on a 35 deg day.

Next door to the Old Timers Mine and over the road from the Big Winch- location is perfect.
I had the best 2 nights sleep- it must be something about being underground.
Also close to the drive-in if you're there on a Saturday night.
Rooms were a little warm and we only had a fan- but it was manageable.

Different type of hotel being partially underground, nil aircon however very cool and fans supplied. A bit dated but met our needs.

We've stayed here numerous times. Have stayed at other accommodation at Coober Pedy, some of which was more expensive and less satisfactory. Have found that we prefer this one. Price is mid-range and you know what you get.
would rather not have had a room that has the door in the middle adjoining the neighbouring room. The neighbours were noisy and the door did nothing to insulate the noise coming through.

This place was amazing. Though short staffed we lacked nothing! The rooms were comfortable and would definitely stay here again.
If I have to write a complaint it would be that they don’t have a swimming pool but they directed us to one in town. So even that is not a complaint!

We stayed in this hotel just 5 days before this stay when we were on our way to Uluru. That stay was excellent. That room was much better than this one. There were mosquitoes in this room and it also had a musty smell.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. We stayed underground which was quirky. The fan wad sufficient to keep us cool. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We managed to park the car for morning shade so our car was cool .
Nothing.
