Didn’t realise you could not use a European adapter here, it had to be a Italian one!!! ( never had this problem in Sorrento), also be aware that you have to pay the city tax in cash only, not by card.

The location is superb and our room had a nice view of the grand canal. The roof terrace is lovely and the dining room has a beautiful view out across the canal

we stayed here in 2007 and the bathrooms haven’t been updated in 15 years. Some of the panels were badly damaged and the bath was discoloured with black mould on the water jets. The pillows were very hard and no other option was available. No tea making facilities.

The staff was very service minded and great friendly and nice. Especially the Asian girl from the breakfast service was very nice. We were very satisfied and we will recommend the hotel to all our family and friends.

Location is very good and easy to reach from Train station (Vaporetto stop is next door) and walking distance from San Marco.

Room 104 -no view whatsoever -furniture in bad and old condition -weird shower setup, very uncomfortable -no mini fridge, no coffee machine/kettle no complimentary items whatsoever -no bidet but only hose -rust in places

They were upset when I asked to pay the unexpected extra taxes on my Credit Card, trying to insist I take out cash when I was going to be late for a plane.

location can't be beat. not in the middle of the crowded tourist spots but easy access to everything. right on the Grand Canal at a water bus & gondola stop. Across from the well known Fish Market and along the main Strada Nova full of shopping, bakeries, cafes & restaurants. The breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious. The staff was very attentive to providing coffee & refilling the buffet.

Overall minimal complaints but the bed was very firm. My back was killing me each morning. They provided me an extra pillow but I would have killed for a foam or pillow top. My husband was really bothered about how badly the shower water went all over the floor. he had to use 2 towels to sop it up every day. we were thankful they changed out the towels daily. Wifi can be very weak or go down - but that is true across Venice. We were able to login to some streaming to wind down in the evenings and play shows with minimal buffering. wifi also worked well enough to call our kids and upload pics.

We loved this place, central location, the room with lots of space , very nice breakfast, very kind and helpful staff.

The shower had a little problem: it couldn’t drain all the water and it went over the edges so half of the bathroom was flooded. But the cleaning lady did a good job on that- it was cleaned in no time.

We had a view of the grand canal from our room which was magnificent, and the hotel was only just around the vaporetto (waterbus) which was so handy, the location couldn't have been more perfect, less than 10 mins walk to st marks square and all other attractions. The room was huge with an enormous bed that could have fit 5 people! Amazing!

Wonderful stay at the Foscali Palace Hotel! Excellent location right next to Gondola Station on the Grand Canal and on the main walk. Helpful staff and great breakfast. Beautiful rooms and hotel.

While traveling in Europe I miss wash cloths and hair conditioner. But that is standard, so just be prepared.
