careless management and broken equipment

die lage ist großartig, aber das ist auch schon alles.

wir mussten das zimmer zwei mal wechseln (für zwei nächte). das erste zimmer hatte null platz für unsere koffer und deren inhalt; außerdem waren verwendete handtücher im zimmer. das neue zimmer war größer und hatte mehr platz, aber die heizung funktionierte nicht und wir mussten ein elektrisches heizgerät verwenden. nach der ersten nacht tropfte es von der decke (vermutlich von der dachterrasse), und die kleider und der koffer meines mannes war total nass. also brauchten wir ein neues zimmer, das wieder etwas größer war, aber schon wieder keine funktionierende heizung hatte. das personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit, aber wir hätten mehr entgegenkommen erwartet, wie etwa eine einladung zum abendessen, dafür dass wir stundenlang mit problemlösungen und umziehen beschäftigt waren. die zimmer waren sauber aber verwahrlost: abgerissene wandhaken, kaum kleiderbügel, keine regalfächer oder laden für kleidung. ein „grand hotel“ sieht anders aus!

Trivelig personale og god belligenhet

Overpriset. Frokosten var mindre god enn et «vanlig» scandic hotell. Rommet var meget skuffende. Vårt dørkort åpnet feil dør, følte oss derfor ikke trygg på at noen andre kom inn på rommet vårt.

Stort sprik mellom pris og kvalitet.

Frokost var meget god. Fin beliggenhet og atmosfære.

Dårlig rengjøring av rom. Gjentatte henvendelser for å få påfyll av såpe/toalettpapir samt reperasjon av dusj. Svak oppfølging.

Glad we tried the grand out. But our stay at a THON hotel was cheaper and better

The location is excellent. Close to a lot of historical places.

Room very small for the price we paid. Very small bathroom with very unsafe bath shower combo. Breakfast was nice but nothing outstanding. Staff was not as friendly as other places we stayed. Room was extremely warm!

Heerlijk verblijf in centrum Oslo.

Ligging in centrum. Parkeergarage. Mooi uitzicht uit kamer. Zeer mooie kamer.

2 tv’s op de kamer die beide niet werkte. Receptie medewerkers konden ons niet helpen aan een postzegel, medewerking viel ons tegen.

In general, we enjoyed the gorgeous room.

The hotel is located in the city center, very convenient to walk around. The staffs were very friendly, they recommended some local activities for us. Me and my husband enjoyed our stay!

Apart from the arrival day, no staff helped us for the luggages. Since there are some stairs before reaching to the elevators, it was not quite convenient. Maybe they are busy at that time.

The best hotel to stay in Oslo

Impressive building and history, all the staff very friendly and the food was superb

Would have liked maybe a bottle of water in the room when we arrived.

Location, room and especially breakfast.

A serious deficiency was that after dinner it was not possible to have a nightcap in the bar, which closed at 2200. Most hotels around the world keep the bar open until at least 2300 and usually 2400.

Beautiful hotel in the best location in Oslo

Beautiful building on the best street in Oslo for walking and seeing the palace.

Even though we booked parking, no spot was left for us which made check in process really slow and frustrating.

Amazing location, close to malls and all tourist places. It’s a clean hotel overall, however some areas need improvement.

Cleanliness can be improved, especially in the corridors.

Great visit, but too bad we had bad room 213.. without breakfast too..

The Grand is one of our favorites in Oslo.

We got room 213, again… it’s a room without airconditioning. And on the hot days it’s cooking inside. It’s a room still not finished I guess.

The room and the hotel meet our needs and expectations perfectly

Fabulous location. Room (junior suite) was spacious and very comfortable with great views over the square below and the parliament building. Really enjoyed the option to have a drink in the rooftop bar

Grand Hotel grand service.

We arrived at the hotel being busy due to the visit of the Italian President. As all rooms were booked out we were offered an amazing upgrade of a wonderful suite. The room was quiet and had everything we needed. All the staff were helpful and very friendly. The rooftop bar was lovely and had a good view. Proximity to the train station made it easy to catch the fast train from the airport and walk from the station. The hotel was also close to the foreshore and shopping area.

Friendly and helpful staff with convenient location.

centrally located, near to all major sites, neighborhoods and train station and restaurants. reception staff, Bell boys are great.

overall it’s decent property but it does need some attention towards bedding in each room. mattress were so soft and pillows were not even pillows, it was bunch of feathers in the bag that soft it was. definitely needs some upgrading in bathroom where plastic shielding the water from shower is so small that it leaks the water out in sink area.

Very dissatisfying

I probably got the smallest room at the whole hotel even though I am a regular guest at Scandic! Also the room was not insulated regarding sound so every shout out from the street was fully transparent into to room!

The only positive thing was the location.

The bed was dirty, som plastic vinyl back that was worn out and rather distgusting, Extremely noicy fans. Some strange over ambitious gards harrased me at a toilet visit in the bar. Not worth the money, looked more like a cheap hostel. Further the food was worse than a cheap bar.

For some reason the bathrooms look very dated. They are clean and completely functional, just not very aesthetically pleasing.
