Amazing stay

It was a great stay even though we only spent one evening here. The room was big and the private onsen bath is just so lovely on a cold day. The staff did not speak English but they tried hard to accommodate us. The in-room breakfast was exceptional. If anything, it's a bit of a distance from the train station, so would have to wait for the bus to come.

Exceptional

If you enjoy the traditional ryokan experience within a more modern hotel environment then this is the place for you. We stayed in the in-room onsen traditional tatami mat room where the staff serves meals in your room and not the hotel side which is separate. For the price, which is not cheap, you get impeccable service, kaiseki type dining that includes the freshest Izu seafood and multiple amenities. Most of the staff speaks limited English but try their hardest to communicate using google translate. They do have staff that can speak a moderate amount of English. Overall a very relaxing and pampered experience. If you have never stayed at a traditional ryokan I recommend making the splurge for a couple nights. The fact you get two kaiseki meals in room and all those special amenities really make up for the additional cost. They also provide a free shuttle to JR Ito station.

Nothing short of amazing

Amazing service, traditional cuisine with plenty of food and a nice Onsen experience after all. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, for dinner and thereafter was english speaking staff assigned to our room. The meals were plentiful and really well prepared, and consisted of regional and typical japanese ingredients. (This could be a challenge for picky eaters). They provided a free transfer to Ito station after our stay. Would definitely come again!

Nothing severe in particular, really. The initial registration and the first few minutes in our room were a little bit rough, because a few things had to be carried out via google translator. (Machine translating services are not good at Japanese.) But you could tell that they really want to deliver good service. After that, english speaking staff was available. Not a negative in general but something you have to keep in mind: it takes a while to get there from Tokyo. We went there after our journey to Osaka and took the train to Ito station from Atami.
