The location was superb, with breathtaking, idyllic views over the bay. The walk to the private hotel beach is only a couple of minutes, or twenty minutes if you prefer the public beaches down the road in Istro village. There are four or five villas clumped together in the Collection, but you have complete privacy, allowing you to relax by your pool without worrying about being overlooked.
On arrival, the very jovial Alkis greets you at the hotel reception and shows you to your villa. He also looks after the pool to make sure it's always clean and clear, and a lovely cleaner visits everyday to make sure the villa is in tip top condition throughout your stay.
There is so much space, both indoors and outdoors. The rooms were airy and the garden was beautiful. And the views over the bay were spectacular, especially in the evenings as the sun went down.
We spent a couple of evenings at the hotel restaurant by the beach which offered a delicious menu. The bar hosted a couple of Greek music nights, which were fun (if Zorba is your thing!).
There was nothing we didn't like, but I can offer a few tips to future guests based on our experience:
- If you're driving from the airport in Heraklion, it's well worth stopping off in the Lidl by the airport to pick up some basic supplies: dishwasher tablets, washing powder, washing up liquid - as well as food & drink. There are also some lovely mini markets in Istro to top up supplies as and when you need them. The hotel also has a gift shop where you can also buy water and wine.
- If you're not familiar to air conditionning units (like us), then it's worth learning how to use them before your first night's sleep! Some units work better than others, and it takes a little experimentation to get the best out of them.
- As others have noted, the saltwater pool does make your swimwear go green/blue, so you'll need to wash them regularly!
As a suggestion to the owner, it would have been useful to have some sort of information pack about the hotel, local area, suggestions for places to eat out, entertainment etc. Just the basics before we set out to explore for ourselves!

A true gem! The location is amazing. The private beach was amazing and in 2 minutes walking distance. The salt water pool was a delight. The accomodation was private with amazing view and quiet. The bed super extra comfy. It is pet friendly and this reveals many about the owner, the staff and the the whole "character" of the facility. totallly recomended.

Beautiful house with fantastic view.
The hotel close to the group of houses was still closed and the access route needs some cleaning. The area is a bit neglected. Also the house needs some things fixed, but I suppose it is because we were there before the holiday season begins

Great view, lovely terraces and pool (we did not use the area much due to bad weather, but in season it must be fantastic). Spacious, clean. Two bedrooms with panoramic views. Nice walk down to the beach. 3 large bottles of water and fruit.
You hear the sound of the main road above the villa. Only one electricity outlet in living room. We were end of October and weather was cold, as was the house when we arrived, and it took some time to heat the rooms. Fortunately there were warm blankets. The lighting in house was not pleasant, only the ceiling light worked, no reading light in living room. We asked the kind man who received us for wood for the fireplace, and were told he would bring it the next day, but this first night we did not feel at home. The next evening there was still no firewood until we called the owner, and then plenty was brought, so we did have a very nice second evening with fire in fireplace. This makes a great difference when staying in a house off season, so it was a factor when we chose this villa.

Great view. Sizeable accommodation. Pool OK though obviously cool this time of year, especially as north facing.
Overall place is tired. Blinds broken; no useable outdoor furniture as all soaked (no covered space). Shower was unnecessarily fussy/complicated. TV channels limited to Greek/German. Ants were an issue on kitchen floor and cabinet surface though not uncommon in this climate. Istron was obviously towards the end of its season.

Very nice villa with a great view to the bay. A bit uphill (about 350 m walk from the beach), but with everything we needed for the perfect vacation. Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and coffee-machine is a nice addition to the greatest view on Crete. Daily cleaning service is very helpful as well. Beach sunbeds and umbrellas are free for the guests. Welcome gifts and upgrade makes us feel even happier. We are planning a new trip there for the next summer/autumn.
The pool was a bit colder than expected, but we were there at the first week of October. If you are a tennis player and plan to play tennis at the nearby hotel court, take/buy somewhere your own tennis balls and be ready for the hard concrete court, not the "real" hard surface. But it's not about the villa, to be fair.

Amazing views, serene location was very peaceful, pool area was great for kids and had a had a lovely breeze. Comfortable beds. Friendly and COVID-aware staff.
The pool turned our swimwear green which was very annoying since they are now ruined.
