Great choice for a stay in Elgin

Very convenient to the train station and some buses, a 10-15 minute walk to the main shops in Elgin and the central bus station. Also there is a Lidl and a huge ASDA very close. The restaurant is good and the staff very helpful. The included breakfast is generous and very good.

There were two things that made me give a less than perfect score, but neither is a deal-breaker. First, the ensuite shower/toilet room is very narrow. It was a squeeze for me to get in the shower, but I am large. A thin person would have no problem. The sink is also very small. Second, I had room 16 which is off a passageway that connects two parts of the hotel. There is a door at each end of the passageway and they banged shut every time someone walked through. Fortunately this was not an issue after about 10:00pm but during the day it was annoying. If staying here ask not to be put in room 16 or 17. Other than that I had no complaints.

Superb

Food was lovely, I recommend having dinner in the restaurant. I was in a budget room which was perfectly fine for me.

The lock on the door to the room is a bit strange and I could not work out if my door was locked from the inside at night time. The bathroom could do with a towel hook on the back of the door to use when coming out the shower. Neither of these small issues would stop me staying again.

Lovely hotel

Staff were lovely and friendly. Couldn't have been better. Great food, generous breakfasts. Very clean all round the whole hotel. Very well organised, no problems. Lots of free parking. We didn't use them but noticed two electric car charging points in car park.

The mattresses were a bit uncomfortable. Too springy for us. Also, walls were a bit thin if you know what I mean.

Sorry we could only stay one night!

Clean, comfortable and with a good restaurant and we’ll stocked bar, especially if you’re a whiskey lover! The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.

If we were being picky the flow of the shower could have been stronger.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The property was exceptionally clean and well looked after. Breakfast was piping hot and very good

I am sorry to say I could hear a gentleman in the next room snoring. Once the showers started in the morning the pipes made a racket.

Very comfortable

Room was spacious and comfortable. Had an excellent evening meal and breakfast. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and we had a very good experience.

A pleasant stay at a friendly, clean hotel

Check in was quick and efficient, staff were friendly, the evening meal was great with nice sized portions and reasonably priced, great location for walking into the town and ample parking at the hotel. The bar was good with an excellent selection of drinks,

The bathroom was very small with access to the shower being restricted with a sink in front of the door of the shower. The water pressure was very poor with a very limited flow from the shower. The price I paid was at the top end of what I usually pay for a hotel, yet the room didn’t reflect the price compared to other hotels I have stayed at for the same price
