Our experience at Casa do Romezal will was definitely the highlight of our 15 days in Portugal!

Staying at Casa do Romezal was the highlight of our vacation! Margarida and her Brother Luis were excellent hosts who went to great lengths to ensure our stay was special! Was great learning about the history of the vineyard and tasting the excellent wines and olive oil they produce. This experience definitely exemplified everything good about Portugal. My wife and I highly recommend Casa do Romezal!!!

Margarida is a wonderful host, full of tips for visits, restaurants, things to do. The porch of the B&B has a beautiful view over the valley, ideal to watch the sunset. We had a large room, with a comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet is really nice, with freshly cut fruit, and a variety of local cheeses and hams. Highly recommended!

A highlight of our 3 weeks in Portugal

Exceptional. Our stay at Casa do Romezal was a highlight of our 3 weeks in Portugal. The view from the Casa (and the pool!) was breathtaking. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with an assortment of homemade goods. But what really made the experience special was meeting Margarida and Luis, the brother and sister who have devoted themselves to the Casa and the vineyards as a way of honouring their father's legacy. Margarida was a warm and friendly host who made us feel very much at home, while Luis shared his vast knowledge of the Port industry as part of our Port & wine tasting. We felt priviledged to be able to walk in their vineyards.

May 2023 Casa do Romezal

Superb location. Panoramic all weather balcony with very comfortable seating. Relaxing and calm ambiance. Excellent continental buffet style breakfast. Margarida is a very knowledgeable and friendly hostess and went above and beyond answering all my queries about our two day stay. She put us in touch with an excellent local taxi service, Tavares Taxi run by Antonio who was always on time.

Pretty isolated location which is part of the attraction and, as we did not hire a car the taxi service was ideal and good value. We were not aware that the wine tours had to be pre booked in advance, but luckily a cancellation allowed us to complete the tour and tasting.

This is the highlight of our Portugal trip. beautiful scenery, cozy house and wonderful staff

Homely feel. Beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable common areas - living room with a fire place, dining area. Rooms are cozy. Property is peaceful, quiet and tranquil. The hosts are very friendly and make sure we feel at home. Breakfast is amazing.

Nothing that we didn’t like. Would be nice to have a heater / radiator in the bathroom, although the rooms are perfectly warm. We had wine tasting and walking tour of the vinyard. would be also nice to have actual tour of how the wine is actually made / tour of the area where the wine is processed and aged.

What a wonderful stay we had. The premises are spectacular. The view is breathtaking. The rooms are spotless and well equipped. There are many common areas to be used by the guests. Our favorite was the balcony, spacious, cozy and the view was amazing. Margarida was the perfect host, she was so accommodating and always available to help. Excellent place to enjoy the area and have time to relax and take in the scenery. Thank you Margarida for making our stay memorable

Great value and good relaxing experience

Margarida was lovely and took excellent care of us. The view from the room is priceless. A lovely pool: clean and cold water helped us through the heat. The facilities and suite design is lovely. The location: 5 minutes drive from Pesua da Regua. Luis gave us a very nice wine tour through the Winery and we bought some nice wines/port to take home with us.

The 300m climbing up to the Casa with the car is a bit stressfu at first,l but after the 2nd climb you get used to it, even in the dark.

Owner and staff were exceptionally accommodating. Facility was very clean with a spectacular View. One of the best wine tours we have experienced at their Vineyard. A short taxi ride from the train station and you are in a beautiful setting. Unconditionally recommended. Best part of our 2 week trip to Portugal.

Walking the hill into town for a supermarket but would do it again. 😀 and one cannot blame them for the local geography.

Gorgeous little house with an amazing terrace and two pools, very nice hosts, fantastic breakfast, great wine... You should stay at least 2 nights to explore the region. Go to the viewpoint in Galafura for sunrise, it's worth getting up at 5 in the morning!

A vineyard stay that feels like home.

Stunning location. Delicious and home-made breakfast. We had the whole house to ourselves because we booked all three rooms. I highly recommend doing the same if you are with a large family or friends. It can't be beat. The host is an absolute doll. Very sweet and so accommodating.

It was wonderful in every way. Just be aware, there is a very steep driveway, you have to climb to get to the location but, that's probably everywhere in Douro because it is all steep valley!

This is a real hidden gem!

Margarida the owner is such a lovely and caring person. She really makes you feel like home, but with a waaaay better view than at home. The pool area + view (sunset view!) is stunning. For breakfast you get a basket full of goods lovely prepared. The location is perfect if you want to explore the area (close to a bigger town and close to the scenic routes). The surrounding / landscape is overwehlming, the view from our room was breathtaking. It's just a real great place to stay. Highly recommended!

This is a super-friendly place where you can enjoy the nature, the landscapes, the food and everything that offers the Douro Valley. You will have breakfast with a picturesque view, a true rural location in a rustic stylish house. From here you can easily do the famous route along the river Douro to the city of Pinhão where you can take a boat tour too, reach different restaurants with great local meals or have walking tours and explore the nature. Great for the couples or even families with kids. The staff will take attentive care of your staying.

Margarida was exceptional! Friendly, and polite. The place was immaculate. Breakfast was amazing! And the location... Breathtaking... We also took a Gueda wine tasting with Louis. Great experience and great wines and porto ❤️

Both Margarida and Luis are amazingly nice and friendly. Food and wine were extremely delicious, rooms and common areas were perfectly clean. Location was close enough to the city but also not in the city crowdness and mess. Would recommend to anyone, and we are sure that we will come back soon enough ♥️
