About this condo rental
This cabin has 2 bedrooms with a third room that can be used to sleep extra kiddos! So we can accommodate 5 or 6 depending on everyone's size, and this cabin has a fully equipped kitchen and a washer and dryer. We are located on over 14 acres that is lakefront on Lake Lewisville with over 700 feet of shoreline. We offer a total of 3 rental cabins and RV spaces as well. All of our cabins are closer to the lake than the RV spaces. Enjoy sunrise over the lake from the substantial deck with your morning coffee or go sit in our lakeside large grove of mature trees to enjoy the breeze. Propane grills, fire pit, and kayaks are available for your use. You can ski, fish, boat, kayak and swim right in front of our property or go for a 10 minute ride by boat to the main lake. Anchor right here in front of the property to keep your boat or jet ski conveniently located during your stay. In addition, the fishing is superb right here off of our bank! Private gated drive with coded entry door locks provide contactless check-in. If you like the peace and quiet, wildlife and country living while still being close to the suburbs, this is the place for you. We are truly an oasis in the middle of the DFW suburbs. 35 miles from Dallas, 2 miles from groceries, and restaurants, 12 miles from Denton, about the same from Dallas North Tollway and only 7 or 8 miles from Little Elm city center. (We love pets, but we do have a leash rule. If you bring your pets, please keep them on a leash at all times when they are outside). Wi-Fi is great in the cabin!

My wife and I stayed at this cabin from March 23 through June 23, 2023.
The cabin is located in a picturesque setting that is teeming with the beauty of nature (a lake, cows nearby, trees, a beautiful sunrise, singing birds).
However, in my opinion the cabin is not worth the money ($4770/mo).
I sent Pete Maugans, the owner, a text midway into our stay explaining some of the ways that he could improve the cabin. I explained to him:
-My wife and I would not be able to watch TV several times throughout our stay because the internet would go down.
-There are several rooms that have burned out light bulbs or are just not light enough.
-There have been roaches sighted in the kitchen as well as mouse droppings in the pantry.
-The patio door is stuck and cannot be opened.
- My wife runs out of hot water when she takes a bath.
-The deck is unfinished.
-The wood floors are stained, cracked and splintered throughout.
-The dusty windows have old curtains.
-The living room couch is torn; the coffee table is broken.
-The air was not very comfortable though out most of our stay. It was either too warm or too cool in the cabin.
-It would be nice if the cabin is cleaned weekly.
- The washing machine makes a loud noise when it spins.
I tell you all this because I see you wanting to improve your business, a wonderful trait that unfortunately seems to be lacking in most business owners today.
But please, for the sake of your renters, do it soon!!!

Rustic with old appliances and window units for airconditioning. Clean sheets, towels, kitchen. Burner on stove don't all work and what ever I cooked it stuck to pans (I would update pans). Wonderful deck and access to lake with fire pit and tables and chairs. Pet friendly which our dogs and cats loved. Plenty of parking and very quiet. Neighbors not very close which gave us privacy as well.

Amazing lakehouse property, the house was clean and everything was what he said it was the only weird thing were the ghost LOL great thing I actually love horror related things otherwise I would've been scared but other than that and I can only speak for myself but I'll be renting from him again and i have others that have also rented his property, we all love it.

The house by the lake was great as it allowed us to disconnect from our busy lives. Spending time by the lake, feeling the breeze, listening 🎶 to the nature sounds afforded us with an opportunity for reflection and connectedness.

We sure enjoyed this place! The land is beautiful with a great view and access to the lake. The house was so perfect for our group! GREAT AC!! The kitchen had everything we needed with an awesome gas grill outside. Our favorite spot was the back porch! The cows come right up to the porch and will let you feed them corn cobs, etc. They were really a big plus! Pete was so accommodating and a great host! Would love to go back and hope he never sells this property to the 'McMansions that are encroaching all around it.

Longhorn 65th Birthday Adventure
We sure enjoyed this place! The land is beautiful with a great view and access to the lake. The house was so perfect for our group! GREAT AC!! Quaint and quiet
This was the perfect getaway - ina ranch setting only minutes from the city, great shopping and restaurants! Beautiful property, with huge trees and great views of the lake. So thankful I could bring my dog - she’s never seen cattle...especially long horns! Pete was so helpful and responsive - a few things in the house could use updating (along with the patio furniture), but it was quaint and quiet...and the perfect getaway for our girls’ weekend!

Could use some attention; several missing outlet covers, furniture & mattresses had sink holes, water dripped/ran in bath faucet 24/7, towels had holes, lampshade, side tables, & patio cushions were fragile/brittle.. Driveway is shared with another rental house, over looks an rv park, must cross pasture to walk to lake (too muddy). We adjusted our plans to spend most of our time away from the house, so not to break fragile items. Owner was responsive, and blamed housekeeper.

We were able to bring both dogs and both cats and get away from the noise and chaos of repairmen fixing our house damage from the recent storm. We enjoyed the lake view, the friendly cattle, and the very comfortable house. Pete was great!

In a COVID world it was nice not to be right next to neighbors and have some space. Good fishing right from shore. Having longhorn cattle right off the deck was a bonus for a family from WI. The kids especially loved it. Very friendly.

LOVEEDDDD
Hands down the best VRBO I have stayed at! Lived my best life for the week we stayed! Only had one issue but Pete was super attentive and got it taken care of! We became quick buddies with the animals! Loved loved loved!!

Great peaceful place.
We needed a place to stay to visit family in nearby Plano. Great place for pets. Enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the Longhorns. Pete is a great host!

Since we haven't been out much during the pandemic we really enjoyed the peace and quiet and could forget about the virus for a time. We loved having the cows in the backyard and were pleasantly surprised they had kayaks we could use. Our grandson fished from morning until night.We found the place homey and comfortable. The only recommendation I would make is to possibly get a new stove.

Great host, nice country stay
This is a nice place & truly like being in the country. I was a little surprised by how close the other guests were (several rentals on the acreage) & I wouldn't consider this place waterfront (at least in what I was looking for). However, the host & site manager are both wonderful people. The house is well furnished (loved the kitchen and deck!) A side note to renters about VRBO (they charge - as in, take the funds) a huge security deposit, about half of the cost of the entire rental, & hold it for a few weeks after the stay. Notice how they have people rate the properties/owners, but there are no questions to rate VRBO. I will not ever use VRBO again. Several better options available that don't do this.

Great mini vacay
We enjoyed our vacation here so much! It was such a nice get away for my husband and I! Our dogs got to come too and they had a BLAST! It’s the perfect place if you’re looking for something just a little out in the country but not too far from everything! We didn’t want to leave! Thanks for everything, Pete!

Beautiful Property
My son is a Senior and, due to the pandemic, was not able to have a graduation ceremony. So instead we had a Graduation Trip for the whole family. I am so glad we chose this property for our family. The land is absolutely stunning. There is a small copse of trees down close to the lake shore with a patio table & chairs and string lights between all the trees. The cows are friendly and were never frazzled by our little ones. The lake was so much better than our expectations. No trash, not busy or overcrowded, great shoreline, lots of ducks and birds. We just overall really enjoyed our whole stay. Oh! Plus the owners were super helpful and prompt in all communications. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer.
