About this house rental

Nestled in Samos Prefecture, this lovely house for £170 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Greece Registration Number: AMA0000004011470782 Tax file number 057764220 Built in 1929 and restored over the last two years to its original grandeur, the home is one of the most outstanding properties on the island. It has three floors, each providing panoramic views of Samos/Vathi town and harbour and totals 180m² of living space, with an additional 60 m² roof top. Located just metres from the central pedestrian shopping mall and the main town square, and a 20 short walk to Gaggou Beach the luxury home offers all of the convenience of town living from a secluded and quiet position. The property comprises a formal and an informal living area, separate dining room and kitchen – all as originally configured but totally updated. There are three double bedrooms, and a study/fourth bedroom. There are two bathrooms (main with large shower) as well as a toilet area on the rooftop. All rooms have stunning views over the port, town or surrounding mountains and capture all the summer breezes, while the master bedroom has a private wrap around balcony. Fully Renovated Traditional Home: The house is a traditional up-market house, nearly 100 years old. It could not be better located for anyone interested in staying in Samos/Vathi - close to everything but in a quiet secluded area. It is made of local stone - the outer walls are 80cm thick and internal ceilings are 3.5 metres high. The renovation completed in 2008 included new plumbing, electrical re-wiring, replacement of light fittings, laying new floor coverings and installation of central heating and solar hot-water. There is a water pump that ensures good water pressure in every part of the house - including the large upstairs shower room. The original wooden windows and shutters have been repaired and repainted and the front door replaced by a hand made replica of the original. The house has been re-painted inside and out in the traditional style of the house. Facing towards the harbour, the house is always cool and receives refreshing breezes in almost all weather conditions.

I live my dream
I live my dream
A well located spacious house with a spectacular view overlooking the old town and the harbor of Samos from a beautiful large roof top. The rooms are clean and the bathroom fulfills all your needs. The owner of this lovely house was pretty involved in giving us a hand where ever we need. The lunch we had together in a typical fish restaurant was very delicious. Finally if you want to have a great time , go to Samos : ) Cathleen, Rochus and Philipp

Steven's house, which he has lovingly restored, is a wonderful place for a family vacation. We were seven adults and a 6-month old child. We all fit comfortably and enjoyed the spaciousness and wonderful airiness of the rooms. Air conditioning in the two main bedrooms provided excellent cooling. The other two bedrooms (one a "library") were just fine although they only had portable fans. It was unusually hot for June when we were there, so additional AC would have been welcome, but the breezes from the north provided ample comfort. There is a marvelous rooftop veranda with lots of room (and a second refrigerator nearby). We found ourselves ever assembling roofward! The kitchen is amply outfitted for home cooking. There are three toilets to accommodate a crowd. For a family our size, we could have used a second shower, but really we are not complaining. Steven, our host, was ready to accommodate if problems arose, but we really never had any. We parked our car a block away, and it is a five-minute walk to the town square with restaurants, boutiques and specialty food stores, so we felt almost like locals. The museum with the famous kouros is also only a five-minute walk, ferries 10-15 minutes, and it's easy to get on the road and traverse Samos island. The only downside is that the house is really not built or situated to accommodate anyone who has difficulty with stairs -- there are many both inside and outside. But a marvelous accommodation for anyone seeking to live among the residents of a typical Greek village. High recommendation from us.

My wife and i decided to begin retirement with one year in Samos ,we contacted Steven and arranged 11 month occupancy, the house is huge about 1200 sq ft on each floor and the two levels have four bedrooms and two bathrooms ,it is conveniently located just a block from a commercial street and two blocks from the main square But the most amazing thing about the house is the rooftop, it has 180 degree view of Samos harbour, vathi town, ferry terminal and open Aegean to the north The rooftop also has a bonus room for overflow guests and a third bathroom ,If you rent this house you will enjoy just spending time up on the rooftop enjoying the spectacular views Karl and Denita

The house is a grand home of immense proportions beautifully restored to its original character. Every room was well equipped offering wonderful views from each window. The terrace was breathtaking with 180 degree views of the whole of the Vathi Bay and town. We could not have asked for more. Within a few steps from the main town, the convenience was great. Also I want to thank John who came to greet us at the port and bring us to our car and to the home. He was a gentleman even providing us a few groceries items in the house to make a head start. My family and I had a wonderful stay and we will definitely be considering taking it up again.
