The Ridge Grand Marais Michigan Enjoy Lake Superior and beautiful of this amazing custom built 5 bed/ 3 bath home! Located in a prime location the house is only about a mile from town, restaurants and the beach but yet far enough away to still be able to get away from it all. Also close to the trails enjoy the ability to just be able to jump on your snowmobile or ATV and head right out from the house. The first level with it's open floor plan living, dining and kitchen areas feature the best view in town. The Kitchen is fully equipped for every chefs dream with custom knotty alder cabinets, granite coutertops and all the essentials. There is also a massive industrial style dinning table and a breakfast bar that looks out over Lake Superior for plenty of seating to entertain or enjoy all those home cooked meals. The first level also includes the bunk room with a lounging area and large flat screen TV and a full bath. The second level features a central TV lounging area, two king master bedrooms, 2 full baths, another king bedroom with a sleeper sofa and double bedroom with sleeper sofa. There is a large covered balcony that has panoramic views of Grand Marais, the break wall, the lighthouse and Lake Superior, its the perfect place to sit back relax and enjoy a good cup of coffee! And if you enjoy snowmobiling or side x siding you are going to love this custom attached toy garage that has it all. This custom garage was designed with convenience in mind and features garage doors on both ends for a convenient pull through option. It also offers tons of storage so you can hang up all your helmets and gear and the best part, it has heated floors! No more frozen sleds or wet gear in the morning, just walk out into the heated toy garage and head out on your next adventure! There is also a attached 1 car garage and tons of parking in the driveway for all of your vehicles, truck and trailers. And the driveway is a circle drive so no more backing up trailers or trying to figure how to get turned around. Fabulous house. Great accommodations. Beautiful views. We visited Whitefish Point and Sault Ste. Marie. We also spent a day in town. It was fun to visit Grand Marais Tavern and the Dunes Saloon. I would recommend to stay here if you enjoy the outdoors but want a place to come back to so you can cook out, make dinners, enjoy the fire, and visit with family or friends.

The views are absolutely stunning! This house has it all and it is a beautiful house! Comfortable and well thought out and well appointed. We didn’t get to use the garage (we don’t have toys) or the fire pit (weather) but the house fit us perfectly and was a great location! The property owner was helpful and kind and a great resource! Yes, it isn’t cheap, but worth the money, esp if you have toys! We had a great stay. Thanks!

What an amazing home base for our annual adventure! The home was perfect, the view was amazing! The weather was fantastic and the trails were great! We had a fantastic week at your place, the home was spotless, the beds were great, it had everything we needed! Highlights: two hearted River, Crisp Point lighthouse, Benny the Troll, log slide, many waterfalls, Uglyfish Bakery, Dunes Saloon for dinner. We got a personal tour of the Pickle Barrel museum as well. 320 miles of trails on the side by sides. Thanks for sharing the Ridge with us this week!

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at the Ridge for a week in August 2023. What an incredible property!! We have been coming to Northern Michigan/U.P. for 15 years now, and hands down, this was the nicest house we have ever stayed in. The views of Lake Superior and Grand Marais Harbor from the house were jaw-dropping. We never got tired of looking out the windows and were sad when it was time to leave. The house is spotless and extremely well-maintained. The owners are fantastic to deal with. They checked in periodically to make sure everything was going well and to see if they could answer any questions. The house was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. (We used the large propane grill to cook dinner each night.) Plus, we were greeted with a treat basket full of delicious goodies, as well as two high quality thermal tumblers as a welcome gift. We have never felt so appreciated as house guests! We had a blast playing all the games in the separate game room -- foosball, ping pong, pop-a-shot, corn hole. My husband used the separate exercise room every morning. The house is ideally situated to explore Pictured Rocks, as well as other nearby attractions. (Crisp Point Lighthouse was a highlight of the trip.) Grand Marais is a magical place, made all the more special by being able to stay in this incredible property. Would stay here again in a heart beat.

Couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay. My husband and I were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with our 5 adult children and their spouse and we all agreed the house was perfect both in amenities and location. Lots to do in the area - atv riding, hiking, lighthouse tours, Picture Rock sunset cruise and just hanging at the house together. Would definitely come back again. Beautiful home!

Best VRBO house we've ever stayed in! Re-lived a family vacation from 30 years ago to the UP. House was plenty big enough for the next generation with 7 adults and 4 kids under the age of 6. Didn't use 1 full bedroom. JD and Jason were great hosts and very helpful before and during stay, neighbor is remote enough, but was very nice and came over to warn us about a bear in the area. House is better furnished than our own house, beds very comfortable. Game room/yard games provided endless entertainment. Very clean and easy to clean. The toy garage hosted many dance contests. View of Grand Marais harbor and sunsets was amazing. We wish the house was about 10-12 hours closer to us so we could go back more frequently. Only negative comment (and this is very very minor) a few extra dish towels would be helpful. To avoid some gravelly roads, map directions to Grand Marais and then the house, rather than directly to the house.

The house was amazing! Perfect home base for all our UP adventures. Clean, well stocked, and plenty of space for our two families vacationing together. Teens loved the game and bunk room. View was incredible. Everything we needed plus a few extra comforts. Owner even gave our car a jump start when battery died as we were checking out! Only teensie tiny complaint was that the lights in the entire house were super dim. But in the summertime there was so much daylight it wasn’t much of an issue. Wish we could have stayed longer and would definitely come again.

The property was perfect for us. We were so thankful for our time there. The only downfall was the mosquitos, but they were not as bad when the breeze picked up. We hope to visit again soon! The town was idealic and we had so much fun shopping at the small shops and eating at the food truck! Highly recommend the ice cream shop in town! My family loved it so much that we went there almost every day:)

The house was perfect for mom, dad, adult kids and spouses to enjoy a wonderful family vacation in the UP. We drove to a few nearby hiking trails and Munising for kayaking. We loved the small beach in Grand Marais - warm, beautiful weather led to volley ball, soccer, and spike ball matches on the beach as well as the yard. Great restaurants with lots of variety in town. The house itself is fantastic - spaces and amenities were wonderful. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need - just bring your groceries. JD’s quick response to any questions was appreciated. Seriously so fun, comfortable, and relaxing! (Sunsets, garage games, speakers throughout, flat grassy yard, fire pit, on and on!)

We were all so impressed with The Ridge! It's a beautiful house that has everything you need to relax and enjoy your time. Our family enjoyed exploring the nearby towns, and took advantage of the large dining table and great room by having dinner and hanging out. Each family had plenty of their own space too. We couldn't be happier with our time here.

This is a wonderful property. It’s spacious, well-appointed and maintained very well. We had a minor hiccup with the water heater at the beginning of our stay but it was due to a mechanical malfunction and the owner facilitated the necessary repair right away. Our group of 12 thoroughly enjoyed our time there and have this property in mind for a future return trip.

Beautiful home in a great location for our group of fishermen. Centrally located to areas we fish, close to town and very comfortable. JD is an excellent host and helped us tremendously. This is the second year we have stayed at The Ridge and won't be the last.

We had the best time! The kids loved the game room and the bunk room. We enjoyed watching the waves roll in and the deer and the bald eagle who visited in the front yard. The home is very well set up- everything is well stocked and cared for. The owner is wonderful to work with and we all had such an incredible trip! We highly recommend this as a fantastic place to stay!

We came up to go snowmobiling and had a great time. The beds are super comfortable, great kitchen with everything, great location to the trails, the heated garage was awesome (7 sleds fit great), view of lake superior was better than the photos. Would love to see a hot tub for next year, haha

We are a group of friends who take an annual trip to the area to ride ATVs is this incredibly beautiful part of the Upper Peninsula. Thus home served as the perfect place to stay for this. We appreciate nice accommodations. This place is by far the nicest place to stay in or near Grand Marais. New, very well maintained and very clean. Awesome views of nature and Lake Superior. Everything you might need is provided. We met the owner upon leaving and he was very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend.

The Ridge was perfect for our group of 10 that traveled from southwest Michigan for our first annual side by side riding adventure. Conveniently located just outside of Grand Marais it was easy to gas up the buggies and fill up the coolers before we hit the trails.
The house is gorgeous with beautiful views of Lake Superior. The game room was a blast and the kitchen with its high end appliances made meal prep a breeze.

Our whole family was taken back the layout how this house was built to handle the number of people getting ready for a wedding on the beautiful beach of Lake Superior. Bathroom facilities were no problems getting showers and finding one open when they were in need of one. The kitchen was a womens dream with all the table space and working area. The owners filled the drawers with every utensil you could think of , shelf full of spices, beautiful pots and pans, three different coffee pots, wine glasses and very nice dishes. The most beautiful view overlooking the lake in the morning, noon, or night. Our 3 grandchildren lived in the recreation area playing games. Amazing, Amazing place!!

We've stayed at this property multiple times and it's great. We also love the quaint little town of Grand Marais! There is lots to do to keep everyone busy, its quiet, well maintained, well appointed and the view of Lake Superior is awesome. The only drawback is the distance to Munising/Pictured Rocks (about 45 minutes). . . not a reflection of the property, but just something to let future guests be aware of ~ it definitely was something I was curious about when I originally booked this property. Thanks for a great stay!

Property is absolutely beautiful. Lake Superior views right out our windows, the night skies breathtaking. Everything has been thought out for their guests. Game room was so much fun, kitchen had everything we needed, beds were all comfortable. We received a text on Sunday to be sure any questions were answered. Will for sure stay again if in area. Thank you for a fantastic week!
