Dinner Plain is a gorgeous little village, the property is very well appointed for self catering, the beds are nice a big, nice sized living room.

Our first impressions were great but these started to fade once we had our first showers. It was obvious that the shower had not been cleaned in a while, evident by the presence of soap scum, hair, mould. We SHOULD have been the first guests in the property for 2 weeks as Vic had come out of a lockdown, that day! Secondly, the oven. Burnt food juices hadn’t been cleaned from previous guests. No big deal. Thirdly, dirty bin. No biggie. As much as we both noticed the above, we didn’t care too much for the lack of detail when it came to cleanliness, until the time we were to check out. Upon removing the sheets (as bizarrely requested to do) I was shocked at my discovery. As I pulled the sheets down to the bottom end of the bed, I was mortified when I found old smearing's of blood on the doona/ duvet. We’re not just talking a couple a drips here. It had obviously been seen by housekeeping, but had been poorly ‘hidden’ by tucking it into the bottom/foot/ end of the bed. Maybe they shouldn’t have requested taking the sheets off…To say that I was disgusted was an understatement. I’d been sleeping in this bed for days, it really was disappointing way to end the stay. What we were shocked by (other than our disturbing discovery) was the lack of communication from the property following our feedback. I messaged over the app, I text messaged, I tried to call, all to no avail. Had we simply been acknowledged by Simone and/ or someone else from property management, we would not have had to write this review. In fact we we didn’t want to write a review! But we could not ignore, being blatantly ignored. It’s actually a real shame as it’s a lovely apartment, albeit one which is severely lacking in one critical detail. Cleanliness. If the owners of Apres would like some images, Simone was sent some. Alternatively, contact us via the app and I can send them to you.

Thank you so much Simmone, your property is excellent. I was relaxed as soon as I stepped through the door. Fantastic kitchen with everything you would need. Beds were comfortable and warm, very quiet, endless hot water. Thank you for supplying linen at the last minute.

No WiFi, but good excuse to stay away from electronics. Also, wondering why all property owners are making you strip beds & take rubbish out, after a lovely stay it makes you feel like hired help, but I’m not being paid.
