Walk to the historic downtown square. Campfire Circle, Trails, Barnyard. On the River Walk Minutes to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, Dinosaur State Park and Granbury. Enjoy Fishing or swimming on the Paluxy River. Also perfect for Reunions, Retreats and Weddings. Chapel in the Woods. Fort Worth and Dallas 1 hour, Austin 2 1/2. What a quaint little farm great for an easy vacation stay with lots to do! Our 5yr old loves the animals and the short walk to the river for fishing! Wendy was so kind and even offered complimentary breakfast!

My family and I were looking to get away from where we live to visit some parks and found a lovely place to stay here at The Country Woods Inn. The property was exactly what we were looking for, complete with all sorts of animals to watch and interact with. The accommodations themselves were very nice and had some nice history to them as well (homes from the 1800s!). It was very quiet and had plenty of space for our dogs to explore and so many awesome things for our daughter to do while there.
Highly recommend this place for families looking to get away and enjoy some relaxing family time.

It was great cabin was cozy and rustic . when we arrived like on cue a black horse came to visit . at dusk and dawn deer was roaming in field close to all glen rose had to offer we had a lot of fun dog friendly cabin and attractions

If you are looking for a great family friendly place to stay look no further than the Country Woods Inn in Glenrose, TX. My grandson and I stayed 3 nights last week and loved it.
The property managers Wendy and Chris are the best! Wendy meets everyone each day to make sure your stay is going well. Breakfast is served in the barn each Saturday and Sunday morning, which is a bonus! Chris makes the best, fluffy pancakes each Saturday morning.
The children really enjoy the petting zoo and being able to feed the goats, sheep, horse, donkey and llama!
Such a great place and within a couple miles from Dinasaur Valley Park.

Fun Family Getaway!
This is a fantastic place for a family getaway! The exact unit was not available, but the owners were able to accommodate us in an alternative unit, and the kids loved the bunk beds! There is so much to do on property, it really fills the time between other attractions to/do see in Glen Rose. The kids loved all the animal encounters on property. Other guests were super friendly as well. Be sure not to miss Big Rocks Park that is very nearly ON the property. The whole family enjoyed climbing and jumping from rock to rock. We can’t wait to go back when the weather is warm and stay in a cabin right by the river and play in the water too!

The "locals", a donkey, a retired champion barrel racer, llama, sheep, goats, pig, chickens, and rabbits, make everyone feel right at home. A friendly herd of deer visits the neighborhood most evenings and mornings in the pasture.

Great Get-A-Way
We only spent 2 nights there, but could have stayed much longer. The cabin was very clean, it was quiet while we were there, lots of bunnies running around, great property and Wendy the property manager was very nice and helpful. Can't wait to go back.

It felt like we were visiting family. And there were so many fun activities for the kids. We were never bored or not enjoying ourselves. It was four days of pure bliss. We are already planning our next trip out.

Disconnect from technology and reconnect w/family
We had a great time staying in the Spartan airstream and are already planning a return trip. The adults, 9 year old child, and our golden doodle loved every bit of it. The grounds is set up perfectly from the walking trails, petting corrals, space between the cabins and airstreams. Walking distance to the Big Rocks was a bonus. Helen and Kim were amazing! Great family memories were created here! Book your trip now; you won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic Experience
We stayed one night between visits to Dinosaur Valley State Park and Fossil Rim, but could (should) have made a long weekend of it just at the cabins. Can't wait to come back with a larger group for a longer stay.
