The apartment was very well equipped and generally comfortable. The area is wonderfully wild and great for walking and exploring. The peace and quiet of nature is lovely. When it opened on the second day I was there, the fish restaurant was excellent although it was a pity that it is only open during the day, not in the evening.

Unfortunately the day I arrived all three of the local restaurants were closed. The only shop in the village closed two years ago. I did not have a car and there are very few buses. The nearest shops were 6 miles away up a very steep hill! I had to take a taxi to go and buy food and it would have been helpful to know all of this in advance, as I would have chosen to go on different days or to stay nearer to the town. The other problem was the neighbours upstairs who were doing renovations. They started drilling and banging about 9 in the morning and were still doing it at 1845. I am a writer and needed peace and quiet so it was exhausting. I had to go out all day and then was too tired to do any writing.
