About this condo rental
Nestled in Monticiano, this charming condo for £82 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Apartment with two double bedrooms, two bathrooms, large living room, 5 beds, private garden. Our house, located in an ancient medieval village on the outskirts of Siena, not far from many centers of artistic, naturalistic and culinary interest, such as Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, the Chianti hills and the Sienese Crete, spas such as Petriolo and Saturnia, is a construction of 1800, whose renovation, completed in 2013, we took care of personally wanting to maintain the ancient architectural features while using cutting-edge materials and techniques in respect of energy saving and ecological impact. Although we are in the historic center of Monticiano, through the "Vicolo degli Orti", you access a secluded garden where you can spend pleasant moments of true relaxation, enjoying a panoramic view that extends over the endless expanses of woods. In front of its entrance, the apartment has a private space equipped with comfortable furnishings, but it is also possible to occupy the common areas, perhaps to use the barbecue or to harvest organic vegetables or aromatic plants directly from the small vegetable garden. The renovation of the apartment wanted to keep the original structure intact, which was used as a "stable" and therefore retains the ceiling with beams, rafters and bricks and the old-made brick arch. Given the presence of two doors, the living area with kitchenette is very bright and large. A large glass door leads to the sleeping area and the bathroom. The apartment can accommodate 4 people having, in addition to the double bed, two sofa beds in the living room.

We were looking for a location that would allow us to visit several locations within an hours’s drive. And we needed access to parking. This location fit the bill. Property was exactly as described and photographed. Safe and walkable-town. Three restaurants. Much like all of Tuscany, very narrow and curving roads so rent the smallest car you can. We were awakened every morning to roosters crowing and the braying ofFrankie the donkey. Wi-Fi service best on lower level. Very clean property. Gorgeous rear terrace. Lovely stay with Beatrice.

The owners of this property were lovely-friendly and helpful, and it was spotlessly clean. However, accuracy in the property details was lost in translation. We read that the house was on the "outskirts of Siena" ,but the village was a 45 minute drive up a windy mountain road from the city of Siena itself. ( The details probably meant the outskirts of the REGION of Siena?) We were also not given details of the layout of the house and the need to climb up steep stone stairs from the kitchen to get to the bedroom and so out into the garden. My health issues made this a challenge . Heat and mosquitos on top meant that we cut our stay short to find a hotel with air con and less vulnerability to insects in order to protect me from infection ( I have stage IV breast cancer). Our lovely hosts couldn't have done anything about the heat or the mosquitoes! But we think they should clarify the location of the house, the journey to the city of Siena and point out that there are steep stone steps to negotiate, as this would be a hazard for small children as well as those with mobility issues. We were very sad to have to leave several days early, especially when the host family were so friendly, but sadly this property did not work for us. Clearer property details would prevent this happening for other guests. Many thanks.

Leider viel zu kurz
Schade, dass die Zeit so schnell vorbei ging. Denn das Örtchen Monticiano liegt nicht nur wunderschön in mitten einer abwechslungsreichen toskanischen Landschaft, sondern auch unsere Ferienwohnung auf zwei Ebenen mit zwei Bädern und zwei Schlafzimmern war geschmackvoll im toskanischen Stil eingerichtet und lies keine Wünsche offen. Jeden Morgen frühstückten wir auf unsere Terrasse oder im Garten unter einem Pfirsichbaum mit einem traumhaften Blick in die Landschaft. Die Vermieter Beatrice und ihr Mann waren äußerst hilfreich, gastfreundlich und gaben tollen Tipps für Ausflüge.
Wer eine Unterkunft mit noch originalem italienischen Flair jenseits des quirligen Tourismus sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Monticiano bietet alles was das Herz begehrt - einen Bäcker, einen kleinen Supermarkt, eine Bank und zwei Bars.

Propre et bien situé
L'appartement est très propre, bien rénové avec une terrasse très agréable avec vue imprenable sur la vallée. Monticiano est un très joli village avec toutes les commodités juste à proximité de l'appartement. Nous recommandons vivement le marché du vendredi matin, petit mais avec de très bons produits.
Beatriz et Luciano sont très sympathiques et donnent de bons conseils, à suivre absolument.

Excellent location in a superb apartment - an absolute delight!
Typical Tuscan house in the very centre of old part of Monticiano. One bedroom on street level with great view over garden and countryside. On same level well equipped kitchen including oven. and a bathroom. One bedroom/lounge and 2nd bathroom on lower floor with double doors opening onto two level garden/patios. Very large outdoor space with ample sun-umbrellas, trees for shade. Side alley and gate from patio/garden leads to street - very handy for my wife's mobility scooter and my bike. Thank you Beatrice!

Disappointing stay

Great Tuscany Vacation
Beatrice and her husband are outstanding hosts. Their home is beautiful and situated in a small town no more than one hours drive from all of Tuscany’s best attractions. I recommend them highly for anyone looking for a great heart of Tuscany adventure.

Beautiful scenery
Absolutely beautiful home in the picturesque Tuscany countryside. The home itself is well equipped, very clean and comfortable. Our hosts were kind and helpful. There's a lovely little bakery a 1 minute walk away, and a market a 3 min walk away. We visited a local restaurant, Albergo Ristorante Da Vestro, and had a excellent meal, which was a 5 minute walk from the apartment. Highly recommend!

Bellissima Monticiano
In Italy for a wedding near by, this was the perfect base to explore this corner of Tuscany. Our host Beatrice, and her Husband, could not have been more helpful, the property has ell the basics we needed for our stay plus a beautiful terrace to enjoy the Tuscan countryside.
Monticiano is a small but beautifully formed village, we had our hair done at the local salon for the wedding, the two ladies were wonderful. There's a small but well stocked supermarket, a great wine bar, restaurants... Everyone we met could not have been more friendly.
Planning to return, it was a wonderful break! Highly recommend!

Super Unterkunft und nette Vermieter
Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt in der Unterkunft. Wir haben eine großzügige, in jüngster Zeit renovierte und schön zurechtgemachte Wohung vorgefunden. Es war alles vorhanden. Die Wohnung ist direkt im Haus, in dem auch die Vermieter wohnen und zentral in einer kleinen Stadt / Dorf gelegen. Alles tägliche wie Bäcker, Supermarkt, Bars, Restaurants, Frisör etc. sind vorhanden.

Lovely view apartment in off-the-beaten-track village
We loved our short stay in Monticiano. Beatrice and her husband were extremely welcoming and helpful. The village is lively and friendly, to the point that Beatrice even brought us bruschetta and cakes from a neighbour who had hosted a loud party the night we arrived. The apartment is pleasant and well restored (by the husband) in a venerable building, with a view over the adjacent farms. The beds were very comfortable. If you want to experience life in a small, tightly knit mountain village, we highly recommend this lovely apartment.

Appartement très agréable entièrement rénové .tres bien esuipé , super literie et terrasse très agréable au bord d un jardin très bien entretenu.. Superbe coucher de soleil depuis la terrasse.. Village très calme pour des nuits paisibles après de magnifiques ballades aux alentours..

Excellent séjour en Toscane
Cette belle maison se situe dans un joli petit village avec toutes les commodités, elle a été entièrement restaurée et équipée durant plus de deux ans par le mari de Béatrice avec des matériaux de très grande qualité, le mobilier et la décoration choisi par madame est de très bon goût. Notre appartement sur deux étages surplombait la terrasse, le jardin d'agrément ainsi que le potager, ces trois derniers sont à la disposition des locataires et directement accessible par le rez de chaussée du logement, légumes et fruits étaient à notre disposition. Béatrice a eu l'extrême gentillesse de nous offrir un gâteau préparé par elle même et leur adorable petit garçon Léonardo. L'accueil très chaleureux de Béatrice et de son mari ainsi que l'irréprochable qualité de cette demeure nous laisse un souvenir inoubliable, qui plus est en Toscane, région magnifique. Nous nous promettons de retourner en Toscane et de séjourner sans hésiter à nouveau chez Béatrice. Nous vous recommandons chaudement cette maison. Marie Christine, Philippe et Inès.

Excellent !!
We stayed for 5 days in Latteria. My wife who is a decorator chose the house from the photos on the internet.
When we arrived we liked it even more. It is a very good example of how to renovate an old space, with respect to tradition with all modern amenities.
The owners, Luciano and Beatrice are very friendly and nice and will make you feel like you're at home.
I highly recommend it.
