An dem Ferienhaus mitten in der Altstadt von Olhao war auch wirklich nichts auszusetzen. Sauber, gepflegt und vollständig eingerichtet. Genau richtig, wenn man kurze Wege zu den Geschäften und Restaurants sucht. Aber auch die Umgebung und die Strände auf den vorgelagerten Inseln haben uns positiv überrascht. We have spent a very pleasant time in this cosy house. Perfectly located in the center of Olhao, close to the fantastic market. The house is well furnished and area is quite. We would warmly recommand this rental for discovering the Algarve which is an amazing region.

Before reviewing this property I first must praise the owner Margarete, who could not have done any more for us to help make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The property is located within 3 or 4 minutes walk of the famous fruit and vegetable, and fish markets. It is ideally positioned to enjoy all of Olhao's many wonderful restaurants. For a couple staying the property is easily large enough, with its modern kitchen/diner and living room space as well as the balcony, plus the bonus of a large roof terrace. Our third year on the run staying in Olhao, and this has been our favourite place to stay.

We kwamen 's avonds aan en werden gastvrij ontvangen door Margarete en haar man. De man liet ons niet alleen het huisje midden in het centrum van Ohlao zien, maar maakte nog een tochtje met ons langs goeie restaurants en winkels. In het huisje is alles nieuw, niets ontbreekt. Zelfs twee dakterrassen. Heel aardig. We geven het verblijf een dikke 8.

Petite maison agréable dans le coeur historique de la ville. A quelques mètres des commerces et du marché incontournable. Propriétaire sympatique. Très bonne literie, propre et bien équipé. Terrasse en prolongement du salon agréable et couverte et terrasse sur le toit avec BBQ et transats. Rue calme. Bon restaurants dans les alentours.

Mitten in der wunderschönen Altstadt von Olhao mit seinen kleinen verwinkelten Gässchen liegt das Haus von Margarete. Das Häuschen ist ein Traum mit drei Ebenen. Im Untergeschoss befinden sich zwei Schlafzimmer und das Bad, was im Sommer schön kühl ist. Eine Treppe führt hoch zur großzügigen, voll ausgestatteten Küche und den Wohnbereich. Auf dem Balkon lässt es sich wunderbar frühstücken, da man durch die leichte Strohmattenüberdachung nicht in der Sonne sitzen muß. Wer dennoch die pralle Sonne genießen möchte, geht eine Ebene höher auf eine weitere Sonnenterasse mit Sonnenstühlen, einem Grill, sowie einer kleinen Dusche (offen in einer Ecke) zur Abkühlung. Das Haus liegt so zentral in Olhao das man alles sehr gut zu Fuß erreichen kann. Die große Markthalle am Hafen liegt fußläufig 8-10 Minuten entfernt. Restaurants und Tappas Bars in unmittelbarer Nähe sollten alle ausprobiert werden, es ist ein kulinarisches Fest. Das einzige was man beachten sollte, ist das die beiden Schlafzimmer direkt nebeneinander liegen. Das Hintere Zimmer mit einem Oberglas, da es kein eigenes Fenster hat. Dadurch hört man jeweils den anderen Schlafzimmerpartner gut. Magarete ist eine wundervolle Vermieterin, die sehr darauf bedacht ist das es einem gut geht und man die Zeit in Ihrem Haus genießt. Danke dafür! Wir haben es sehr genossen!

Très jolie maison dans le vieux centre d'Olhao. A 20 minutes de l'aéroport de Faro en voiture. Literie très confortable, climatisation et chauffage dans la chambre et la pièce à vivre. Cuisine avec tout ce que l'on peut demander. Très calme. Très propre. Parking très facile au bout de la rue. Deux terrasses : une sous auvent dans le prolongement de la pièce à vivre, l'autre sur le toit. Le marché (ouvert tous les jours sauf le dimanche) et les restaurants de poisson sont à 5 minutes à pied de même qu'un supermarché Pingo Doce. Nous avons beaucoup aimé notre séjour et nous espérons revenir.

We have stayed in Olhao many times and this is definitely one of the best houses we have stayed in! Clean, bright and comfortable. It`s in a great position and has everything you could need to enjoy your holiday! Margarete was lovely and the locals were so friendly and helpful to us when we got lost in the maze of streets! Die Wohnung ist großzügig angelegt, mit zwei Schlafzimmern, einem großen Wohn- und Kochbereich sowie zwei Dachterrassen (eine überdacht). Die Küche ist mit allem Notwendigen ausgestattet, auf der Terrasse ist auch ein Grill vorhanden. In wenigen Minuten erreicht man zu Fuß die Hafenpromenade mit zahlreichen Restaurants und den Markthallen. Verschiedene kleine Läden (Tante Emma Laden, Bäcker, etc.) finden sich in unmittelbarer Umgebung. Der Pingo-Doce-Supermarkt ist zu Fuß 5-10 Minuten entfernt. Aber in Olhão sollte man eigentlich frischen Fisch auf dem Fischmarkt am Hafen kaufen. Olhão liegt in einer Lagune und hat selbst keine Strände. Vom Hafen aus kann man allerdings per Fähre (ca. 30 Minuten Fahrt) auf die wunderschönen Inselstrände Armona und Culatra übersetzen. Am Stadtrand befindet sich außerdem ein Naturschutzpark mit Informationen über die lokale Flora und Fauna und einer alten Gezeitenmühle. In den Salzwiesen lassen sich vor allem Vögel gut beobachten. Die Besitzer sind äußerst nett und hilfsbereit und geben auch gerne Tipps über die Umgebung. Klare Empfehlung!

The big comfy bed and nice powerful shower won us over straight away. The kitchen area is fabulous, and I enjoyed cooking fresh produce from one of the best markets in Europe. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed basking in the Algarvan sunshine on the top terrace, which catches the sun throughout the day. The house is situated in the historic old part of town, and we felt as though we were 'Olhanense' albeit for only eight days. It was a comfort to know that Joao and Margarete were close by if we needed anything....... I would definitely recommend the house.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans la maison de Margarete. La maison est idéalement située dans une petite rue tranquille de la vieille ville mais à deux pas de toutes les commodités, du marché des bars, des restaurants et du ferry pour aller visiter les iles de la Ria Formosa. La maison est décorée avec beaucoup de goût dans un style contemporain. Les chambres et la salle de bain se trouvent au rez-de-chaussée et à l'étage on découvre une grande pièce à vivre qui ouvre sur une charmante terrasse où on peut prendre ses repas. Il y a aussi une autre terrasse sur le toit avec chaises longues. La cuisine est très bien équipée et il y a tout dans la maison pour passer un agréable séjour. Enfin, je remercie Margarete pour son accueil chaleureux et sa disponibilité. Je recommande sans hésiter cet appartement.

Très bon accueil de Margarete et Joao avec renseignements sur la ville et son environnement. La maison située en plein centre, quartier historique, a été entièrement rénovée, très spacieuse avec une grande pièce à vivre débouchant sur 1 grande terrasse suivi à l'étage supérieur d'une autre terrasse bien plus grande encore avec transats, fauteuils... Très bien entretenue, avec tout le nécessaire pour cuisiner -même barbecue. Rien ne manque. La voiture n'est pas nécessaire car proche des halles, de la gare routière et ferroviaire, de tous commerces et très bon restaurants et bars. Olhao est très animé toute l'année. Les plages des iles sont magnifiques, à perte de vue, classées réserves naturelles. Que du bonheur : Nous recommandons vivement cette location et remercions encore les propriétaires. We can recommend it 100%. Everything you need is there, you have 2 great, sunny and spacous balconies/ terraces; the house is renovated, furnished and decorated with both style and love; very clean and you`ll find everything as described in this announce (or even better!). We had a great time, the weather couldn`d have been better (although it was in early March), the neighborhood is very nice since it`s in the old, historic center, but only a 3 minutes-walk to the esplanade along the sea (with many restaurants and bars and the ferryboats going to the islands just next to Olhao where you can relax on the beach) as well as to the market place where you can buy your fresh vegetables, fruits and fish or just have a coffee and enjoy the sun. Also, the best bakery in Olhao is just around the corner of the house, so you`ll have great breakfasts. The owners are very nice, friendly and helpful and supported us in every possible way! Also, they are easy and very quick in communication, even picked us up at the train station in Faro when we missed our train. All in all: great vacations, great house, great weather, great town! We will come back :) And thanks again to Margarete and her husband! Sehr empehlenswert!
