My son and I had an absolute blast staying at the cabin. It was rustic, but has everything you need to get away. The location was great and the access to fishing was amazing. The boathouse was an added feature that we really enjoyed. Lots of room and it was able to for my 19’ boat. Mike is a great host and is very accessible if needed, he helped answer any questions we still had. We can’t wait to go back and stay again.

Haddo island is a beautiful slice of heaven. It's perfectly rustic . Cabin and outhouse very clean and well stocked . Grounds are beautiful with amazibg views of the Bay from all angles. Fishing was good, we didn't fish very much but we caught two perch, a baby pike, and two small mouth bass. We let them all go but it was a fun experience catching them. Mike was a wonderful host, he quickly answered any questions or concerns we may have had via email/ text. We rented his boat to go to and from and it ran great. Honestly though we were content just sitting in front of the outdoor fire pit in the evenings and on the dock during the day, taking in the breathtaking views. Wish I could have stayed longer!

This island cottage was everything we had hoped for! There was so many activities to entertain us and a variety of places to just relax. We would definitely come back here again. We spent most of our week down by the water - swimming was great and so much fun with all the water toys. The terrain was perfect for walking barefoot everywhere. I don't know if it was the season, but a surprisingly lack of pesky bugs.

I was a little bit nervous coming with all the reviews about things to do etc. However, once arrived, we found that anything that was needed to be done (propane, shower, generator to vacuum, filling water tank) was all actually labelled correctly and easy to follow! A very impressive set up. Hot water instantly in the shower. Clean up after ourselves was very easy, and the previous guest left it nice for us. It was a lot nicer in person that I imagined- huge grounds, beautiful screen sun room and lots to do! I did notice the voices carry a lot from the boats, which like advertised, was busier on the weekend. However it brought comfort knowing large wildlife will probably not join us. We had several dogs with us who had a blast!! The swimming was beautiful and touring around on paddle boards etc was absolutely wonderful. The maps provided for getting to the island and rocks around were super helpful and easy to use. There was so much to do and explore I didn’t get through my book!! The only thing I’ll do differently next year, is bring less. Everything is actually there that you need, other than what the owner suggests. I brought drinking water which was provided. Really hope I get a chance to book next summer!! Thanks so much!!

This is truely a self use cabin. The cabin book is a must read for beginners. The cabin was as described and comfortable for being "off grid". The terrain was more rocky than anticipated, but it wasn't an issue. My children, 9 and 11, absolutely loved the cabin, island, boat, and extras. We've never been to Canada before, so we learned first hand how intense the mosquitoes are! We had bug spray, lotion, and candles, but they were still thick. That is my only complaint, but its nature, so I can't complain much. The fishing was phenomenal. We caught more fish than I can count on the dock and near the island. The boat ride was short and island was easy to find. The nearest town is easily accessible. My favorite part was hearing the loons. We can't wait to come back.

This was an amazing location and experience for our family and we had a great time. We had a number of teenagers with us and there was always stuff for everyone to be doing from fishing, paddle boarding, tether ball, bonfires, swimming and just sitting around reading a book or hiking the trails. The one thing to be aware of is there is a lot of little maintenance things to keep your eye on while there (water levels, battery levels, propane, gas etc) and if you are not really accustom to this sort of stuff it can be extremely nerve racking and anxiety causing. I regret not getting better clarification around expectations in regards to some of these items previously as we left some of them the way that they were left for us... only to find out later that this probably wasn't the expectation. This was not in anyway the owners fault, but more so our own lack of experience in this sort of environment and some poor assumptions that we had made. There is lots of material provided both ahead of time and in a binder when you get there that lay out how to care for the place. Just make sure you read it thoroughly and don't miss anything. Overall though the place was clean, well laid out and there was plenty of room for everyone. Would definitely highly recommend it. Thanks!

The island in Warren Bay used to be owned by my husband's grandparents, and he spent summers there as a child. For him, this was like a trip down memory lane (albeit now with more grown-up responsibilities). It was my and my two kids' first time visiting, and we had a blast. Highlights include: jumping from the diving board, sunning ourselves on the dock and on the nearby beach (accessible by boat), hiking, a campfire and Aero bar s'mores, a surprisingly luxurious outdoor shower, and of course, views of the gorgeous lake. The beds are surprisingly comfortable and the cottage offers a variety of books, board games, kitchen supplies, blankets, tons of different flashlights and lanterns, what looks like a years' supply of bug spray (you will need it), hammocks for a light doze in the middle of the day, and fun water toys like pool noodles, paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, and a big inner tube that makes for a relaxing float around the bay. Take your family if everyone is into the outdoors and enjoys lazing around, losing track of the time, and taking many naps near the water. Consider finding another place to stay if you're more into Wifi, indoor plumbing, having your meals prepared for you, and swimming in a chlorinated pool :)

We had a great time at Haddo Island. It is quiet and peaceful but not lacking in things to do. I especially loved the tetherball for some family fun! The cottage really does have everything you need, so no overpacking required. We would love to go back again in the future!!
