About this house rental

This will give you a total price including the taxes and fees that are charged on a per stay basis. A MINIMUM OF ONE WEEK IS REQUIRED DURING THE PEAK SUMMER SEASON. Able to sleep 15 in beds, this home works great for family reunions or for a multi-family get together. With bedrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors, there is plenty of room to spread out so everyone can enjoy the place without crowding. There is streaming service in the family room and three bedrooms, a blue-ray player in the family room, and a DVD player in bedroom 4. Bedroom combinations: Bedroom 1 - King, Bedroom 2 - 1 twin trundle and 1 bunk bed (full on the bottom, twin on the top), Bedroom 3 - 1 Full, Bedroom 4 - 1 full and 1 bunk bed (full on the bottom, twin on top). Bedroom 5 - 1 queen. Located only one block from the main street with its shops and eateries there are now a great new pizza place and Brown Dog Ice Cream (ranked among the top ten in the country by Trip Adviser). This is a golf cart friendly town and carts are available for rent at several places as well as beach cruiser bikes. Day trips to Chincoteague and Virginia Beach and even Williamsburg are all doable Visit Cape Charles, stay at Life's A Beach and experience one of the best vacations you've had in a long while. This home is now set up for STREAMING services Although there is an upstairs balcony, it has been locked.

Great place to stay. Not too far from the beach and very close to a great little town with great shops.

3rd time staying there and everyone was happy that we came back.

No toilet paper when we arrived. Beds in master bedrooms were hard. TVs in bedrooms didn't work. (Remote batteries exploded). Bathroom sink sprayed water everywhere. We couldn't use the 2nd story balcony because it was unsafe and moved when we walked on it. Need a blender. 18 guests and not enough towels for the week at all. Other than the few little things, the bay was great for littles. The beach with waves (Virginia Beach) is an hour drive, and you have to pay tunnel tolls everytime. 14$ during the week and 18$ on weekends. That would have been nice to know... but we did enjoy the stay. Quiet town. Great ice cream and brewery was a bonus.

6 adults, 5 children, and a dog...and there was plenty of space! We had a great week.
Wifi worked great, kitchen was pretty well stocked, and there's no place better to stay than in Cape Charles!
The house is close to the main street, but a little bit further from the beach. Be sure to look into renting a golf cart for the week (well in advance, because they sell out).
The house is a duplex so you share the front and back porch. Walls were thick though so we didn't hear them at all during the trip.
Great house overall (no bedrooms on the main floor, so be prepared to walk up lots of steps. Not an issue for our group though.)
Would definitely consider staying here again.

Nice location but house needs work
The pictures represent a well maintained house. That is far from accurate! No hot water in kitchen, kitchen floor has major slant, peeling paint through out house, nothing has been updated. The house is in a great location though.

We had a wonderful stay in this older, historic property. It was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for a few days away from home. We loved the proximity to downtown with shops and restaurants, and the walk to the beach was not far either. It was great to be able to bring our dog with us and she loved getting to explore Cape Charles! Communication with the owner was great and check in was very easy. The only criticism I have is that the listing wasn't specific that the house was a duplex and that the rental was for one side. We found out after we booked. This was not a problem at all, but would have been nice to see that specified in the listing. We were looking for a quiet place to rest during our teenagers' spring break, and this was absolutely perfect!

Love Cape Charles
Our group had a wonderful visit in Cape Charles. The rental is spacious, well equipped kitchen, very clean, and fabulous location. This was a really nice house, with plenty of room and privacy for all the friend couples on this trip. The AC was great...took no time at all to get the third floor down to temp. Ample parking. Breaker tripped when we tried to plug in golf carts, so we couldn't use the microwave, and the house smelled a little musty when we first got in, but once the AC kicked in it was great. Overall, this was a great place right in the middle of the town and walking distance to everything! VRBO has the wrong address listed, but that appears to be a VRBO problem, not an owner problem. I would definitely stay again!

You can walk everywhere (less than a mile) or rent a golf cart, even an 8 seater! Beach was great, outside shower at the place was great. Minor rental home issues: back door lock was tricky, kitchen sink sometimes randomly switched to the spray gun (shooting the victim in front), and some beds were wonky but the kids didn't mind. Overall just what we were looking for: three families, 7 kids.

perfect spring break
We had a great stay in Cape Charles. The location of the house was perfect, easy to get anywhere by foot, bike, or golf cart. The house was large, plenty of space to spread out and the beds were comfortable.

Great stay
This house does not disappoint offering the quaint charm that is uniquely Cape Charles. Location is amazing and there is plenty of space for a large group. This is our second time renting this property and each time the property was clean and checkin and out was effortless. Thank you!

This was my first time using VRBO and unfortunately I was pretty disappointed. I’ve used other rental services before and never had an issue. This house needed some serious TLC. The back door didn’t lock properly, the front door knob was pretty loose. The back door was also about to fall off the hinges, there was a loose piece of metal on the 3rd floor roof that banged against the house when the wind picked up which was the last 4 days we were there. The noise in the house was extremely loud. I notified management the 2nd day and was told it would be taken care of the next day. 4 sleepless nights later, it was never fixed. Not only was it loud inside the house but it was also a safety hazard if it were to come off completely and fly through the yard. The shower handle was broken at the valve and the garbage was so full the day we arrived we couldn’t do anything with our garbage for the first 3 days.

The back door didn’t lock properly, the front door knob was pretty loose. The back door was also about to fall off the hinges, there was a loose piece of metal on the 3rd floor roof that banged against the house when the wind picked up which was the last 4 days we were there. The noise in the house was extremely loud. I notified management the 2nd day and was told it would be taken care of the next day. 4 sleepless nights later, it was never fixed. Not only was it loud inside the house but it was also a safety hazard if it were to come off completely and fly through the yard. The shower handle was broken at the valve and the garbage was so full the day we arrived we couldn’t do anything with our garbage for the first 3 days.

Nice Old House
Nice Old House in a beautiful small town. Covid kept us from doing many things we might otherwise have done, in particular, dining out. But the beach is nice if a tad shallow, and a few trips to Kiptopeke got us in some deeper water. The take out meals we had were good and it is convenient to grocery, seafood, and farm stands. All in all well worth the cost and drive.

Blazing heat...
Property gets an A+ for great AC, that's for sure. 100+ most of the week we were there and house stayed nice and cool, even on the third floor. Mattresses on the bunk and single beds are definitely showing their age and we're not very comfortable, and 15 people would have been really tight, had all our folks made it.. Covid prevented that unfortunately. Nice house, super convenient to the shops etc and an easy cart ride to the beach.

Lots of room and a quiet street
My family enjoyed our first visit to Cape Charles. This home provided ample space for my family which included five adults and two children, ages 4 and 2, plus 2 small dogs. We were able to check in early (around 1:30P) as the cleaning service had completed this home prior to the 4:00P check-in time. The kitchen had everything that we needed and everything was in good working order. We especially liked having the outdoor shower in the back of the home so that we could rinse off sand from our days at the beach. My only suggestions for improvement are 1) supply at least 2 sets of house keys in the envelope for renters to use...since there are probably multiple families renting the home it would be nice for at least two families to have a set of keys to come and go independently, 2) replace the blinds/curtains in the first bedroom on the second floor...there was one window that didn't have a blind so we hung a blanket over the window for privacy and to block out the sun somewhat, 3) replace the chaise on the 2nd floor deck as it is broken, 4) replenish lightbulbs in lamp in living room and refrigerator. We will definitely visit Cape Charles again! Thank you for "sharing" your home.

Great for family reunion
We gathered together for a planned interment at an Eastville church and family reunion. We rented out both sides of the house for a total of about 25 guests. The house was beautiful and well provisioned with everything we needed. It was wonderful to walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Great Large Family Rental!!
We have stayed at many places in Cape Charles over the years. I think this was the best! It was big and spacious. There were plenty of towels, kitchenware, games...and the dining room table was the best to gather around for dinner, playing games and doing a puzzle! I stayed on the third floor...so I didn't feel bad about missing my weekly boot camp class! We were also 3 houses down from St. Charles Catholic Church...so it was a quick walk to Mass on Sunday. We love Cape Charles already, but the stay here made it even better. I would certainly stay there again. Thanks for having us!
