About this apartment rental

This flat has the C.I.R. code 027042-LOC-10852 and City code M02704210785. Cavazza Palazzo Foscari Mocenigo dalle Zogie (i.e. "from the beads") is a magnificent late gothic building of the first half of the Fifteenth Century that was donated in 1460 by Tommaso Cavazza, to the Confraternity of St. Mary of the Charity, then sold in 1487 to Michiel Foscari. In 1491, Pellegrina Foscari, Michiel’s daughter, married Alvise Mocenigo and brought it into dowry to her husband. The beautiful internal court consists of a double order of columns with a well with the Foscari’s coat of arms and an imposing "ingresso d’acqua" (“gate from the water”) on Rio del Piombo. You will reach the inner courtyard of the Palace by a private marble “fondamentina” (sidewalk on water) that starts from Ponte delle Paste. Within the court, at the left of the entry, a stone staircase with marble lions is the exclusive entrance of your apartment. Climb the stone stairs outside and few internal steps (total 23, no elevators in Venice!) to get to the first Noble Floor of the Palace. On the landing, to the left, the blue and gold lacquered, glass windowed, door leads to your 50 square metres apartment. Air conditioning is guaranteed by a portable conditioner during summer. There are two rooms: a 20 square metres living room with mt.5,30 ceiling heights, with a comfortable sofa, two armchairs "Louis XV" and a turkish sofa. Two large windows with curtains in flax fabric get to the balcony in “Istria” stone (mt. 2.70 x 0.80) facing Rio del Piombo, perfect for a late evening cocktail in June, an afternoon reading in spring, or a warm breakfast in winter. Rio del Piombo and the near Rio della Fava, which insists on the Palazzo facade, are plowed by gondolas or boats goods, but this won't hurt you at night. There’s the satellite TV. Internet is assured by WI-FI line whose access key you will find written within the apartment. The second 16 square metres room includes kitchen with induction 4 burners fire cooking, an electric oven and a fridge. No dishwasher or washing machine. The cook equipment is all of good supply and suitable for induction cooking - including the moka for Italian coffee - and with several small household appliances, including kettle and coffee maker... On the side of the kitchen there is a small bathroom with wc, washbasin and shower (the hairdryer is available). The spiral staircase leads to the 12 square metres loft where is placed the 140x200 cms. bed. On a corner, you will find two standers for clothes, shoes and sweaters. BECAUSE OF THE LOFT NO CHILDREN CAN BE ACCOMODATED IN THE FLAT! We will give you a set of queen-size bed sheets, a complete set of 3 towels, bathrobe and slippers for each guest. There is an ironing board with iron. CITY TAX - € 4 each guest/day for the first 5 days of stay. Taxes have to be payed at check-in. We will give a receipt for the payment. If you are two guests and you want the bed in the living room (the so-called Turkish sofa) to be made, there is an extra fee of € 30,00 for the work and supply of sheets.

This is a traditional Venetian apartment in a good location, and with a yummy pasticceria just outside your door. But what makes this place truly special is the host! Cristiana makes you feel like an honored guest and is available to help in any way she can. Even though she was not onsite during our stay she guided us through a difficult week and we will be forever grateful.

A lovely apartment in a beautiful gothic palace, with all the essentials. The location is very convenient for arriving with cases, and discovering Venice. (Pasticceria Ponte delle Paste, situated next to the entrance to the palace is a must for coffee and cakes.)

Very comfortable and homey. It was like living hundred years ago with all the artifacts and waterways under your window. Yet, modern interior and appliances. A wonderful stay. Central to all of Venice.

The location was unbeatable and security was excellent. The host was wonderful and responsive and bent over backwards to make this a special stay, especially considering that we were a bit late due to the crowds during Carnivale. Keep in mind that this is a very old building and so heating and getting it just right for sleeping can be an issue. The ceilings are high and gorgeous in our opinion. The bakery is next door for a nice espresso in the morning and all the tenants we met were warm and engaging. The location is unbeatable! The balcony very romantic! We highly recommend this VRBO and molto grazie to our charming host!

The apartment was immaculate and the owner offered help and advice that made our stay like staying with friends. There was some construction noise in the neighbourhood, but that was in no way the owner's responsibility and it is doubtless temporary.

Cristiana had our apartment filled with all the essentials we could want. Her place is so close, so central to all amenities. It has a lovely little balcony overlooking a quiet canal. My sister and I highly recommend this place, and if we're fortunate enough to ever return, we will be booking with Crisitiana again.

Everything you need in a place for you & your partner. Cristinanna was brilliant with communication & lots of helpful tips on places to eat etc. my husband & I had a lovely few days break away. Place was very clean & immaculate. Even a welcome bottle of Prosecco in fridge. Was a lovely surprise. Would definitely recommend this place 7mons to St Marco & less than 5mins to Railto bridge. Although getting lost in the streets is a must…
