We are also a smoke free property. AMAZING VIEWS ABOUND IN THIS STUNNING 5 bedroom 4 bath Sunset Beach home with PRIVATE POOL and boardwalk to the beach right out your front door! Sunset Beach is an exclusive gated community with a neighborhood pool, clubhouse, and tennis courts. Guests will love gathering in this open floor plan with large kitchen, dining, living rooms, and multiple open air balconies. There is a huge screen porch overlooking the beautiful Apalachicola Bay and the private pool, complete with dining tables for outdoor dining or family fun time. Great for entertaining family and friends! This floor also has a Beachside King bedroom with views of the gulf and BEACH from its own private balcony and bath. The 2nd level boasts Master Suites with King sized beds facing the bay with large covered porches along with 2 more bedrooms with balconies providing great views of the beach. Each bathroom comes with double vanities giving multiple guests their own space. The house is one of only a few in the gated Sunset Beach neighborhood that has its own private pool. The boardwalk is directly across from the driveway, just steps to the beach and great gulf views. This house has a well equipped kitchen, has double vanities in each bathroom (this is a must for female guests!), luxury linens, multiple TVs, great views due to the empty lot directly in front of the house, a private pool, and has direct beach access. The #1 Beach is adjacent to Sunset Beach…St. George Island State Park (9 miles of untouched beaches, dunes, bay, marshes…and boat launches) Hootie Hoot Beach House at SGI has access to the Sunset Beach Clubhouse with community pool and tennis courts. Sunset Beach COMMUNITY POOL is heated. (The target heating for the pool in the winter months is 85 degrees. The beach was perfect and located just steps from the front door. The beach was not crowded at all and the home was incredibly spacious. The pools was awesome to have if the waves were too strong for the little kids too!

The house was the perfect size. Even on the second row off the beach it had a nice view of the beach and ocean.
Family area was perfect for the adults and the college teens stayed in the room off of the livingroom which worked great for our family.
Short walk to the beach.
The outdoor shower was a perfect addition.
The swimming pool was not very clean, it was cloudy but we still used it everyday. We did not call and tell anyone so that is our fault.
I would stay again but would like to see some of the following things done to give a 5 star rating.
The house needa a good cleaning, not just a wipe down. Dirty on window seals (bugs and dirt build up) also under beds and against wood work (not just the center of the floor needs to be cleaned each time). Bikes need work or replacing , tires flat and dry rotting on one of them.
Paint peeling around the house, in kitchen it was rough. Shades need replacing in living room. 1 missing and 1 did not work. The day bed and pull out needs replacing. Only bedroom that was not comfortable but managable for younger teenagers. They can sleep anywhere and be happy. I still give it a 4 star for a wonderful vacation. The response from the owner was quick and helpful for the couple of things i did send to her.

Our stay was wonderful at Hootie Hoot. House was exactly as represented through description and photos. The large dining table and family gathering area was perfect for us all to be together. Owner was quick to respond when we had questions. We had no problems during our stay. We did let owner know about the pool fountain not working(which did not impact us using the pool at all, we just wanted to let her know) and pool company came to fix immediately. Would recommend this home to family groups.

Wonderful location directly across the street from the beautiful beach. House was very clean and well maintained. Enough room for 3 large families with children. Owner/manager was easy to communicate with and always responded promptly.

Perfect family vacation!
This house was perfect for our family. We had 6 adults and 3 children. The area is very quiet! This was out first trip to St George and we loved it!
I feel like the kitchen, dining, living areas were much larger than how they looked in the pictures. It is very spacious! It was the cleanest beach rental we’ve ever had. The kitchen was very well stocked with anything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool! It is a very short walk to the beach. While on the beach there was nobody right near us. We had plenty of room for games etc.
I would highly recommend St George Island and this house! We had a great vacation!

Family beach vacation
We recently stayed here for a family beach vacation. The house is very clean and well kept. It's one row from the beach with private community board walk right in front of the house and clear beach views. The owner is very sweet and responds quickly to any issues or questions.The house was exactly as advertised. We would definitely stay here again.

Overall, we had a nice stay. You can't beat the location of this home as far as beach access. Although it isn't technically "beach front", it may as well be. Being just steps from the beach is a huge bonus and we would consider staying here again due to that. We have stayed in 3 houses on SGI, and I would rate this house as being in between the other 2. It was overall clean and well equipped, but also not overwhelmingly nice given the price. From the listing, my party had some different expectations as far as room/bathroom setup. So for clarity for future guests, I will lay it out for you:
The first floor (main floor, up a small flight of stairs from the carport) is where you have your kitchen, living room, dining area, outdoor dining/porch, and kids bunk room. The kids bunk room is beside the kitchen.
The top floor has 2 suites with bathrooms inside them, a queen room, and a trundle bed room. There is one bathroom in the hallway near the queen and trundle rooms.
For my family, having the kids bunks connected to the living and kitchen space was problematic, given that adults wanted to stay up later having a drink, talking, etc (it was family Thanksgiving) and the kids needed to go to bed. We couldn't be out in the main spaces without keeping the kids awake.
The community pool was supposed to be heated to a comfortable temperature. When we arrived it was as if it was not at all heated. We contacted the owner, who responded that maintenance said the heater had been fixed. The pool never really got warm enough to enjoy during our stay. We visited in November and the air temp was around 66 most days. Even our kids (9 and 12) felt the pool was too cold to enjoy. This was a bummer, as the heated community pool was the main reason we picked this property.
Some things we really enjoyed about the house:
- great beach location
- nice that kids can ride bikes/scooters inside the neighborhood away from traffic
- lots of kitchen and countertop space
I imagine in the summer we would have been even happier here, and we would consider staying again.

We liked this property, only a couple of things that the pool fountain did not work and had some of the concrete broken. Not a huge deal but would have liked for the fountain to have worked. Second thing the pool furniture was extremely rusted and should have already been replaced. Other then that it was a good trip

The home was perfect for our family. Easy access to the beach, swimming pool with fountain and adequate sleeping arrangements for 8 adults and 6 children. Ample parking including covered area for two cars and plenty of room for storage. We will definitely be back.

Our family had an amazing time! The house was gorgeous and an easy access to the beach, but away from the busy part of the island! It was part of our family’s first time on St. George Island and they absolutely loved it! We will definitely be going back!

My family enjoyed their vacation at Hootie Hoot! We had everything we needed in the home - the kitchen is well stocked. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. We enjoyed both the pool and the beach. Basically Beachfront
This property is listed as "across the street from the beach," and though technically true, IMO it is basically beachfront. The "street" that the house is across from is not the main thoroughfare of E Gulf Beach Dr, but a minor street within a gated community, making it a very short walk to the beach rather than the haul it would be if it was across the main thoroughfare. Due to an empty lot across the street, there are also great beach views. The only drawback is that the views are from the smaller bedrooms meant for children, and not from either of the two master bedrooms. This house was perfect for our extended family. The included beach chairs and bikes, however, are very decrepit. Next time, I will bring my own and/or rent from a local rental outfit.

Great spot, just steps away from the beach. Kids enjoyed the heated community pool. This is a small, gated community of nice homes. The street and drives are all brick pavers, really well done. No traffic, so kids were ok to cross the small dead end street to beach or walk to community pool. House was great with everything you need. Would rent again.

We stayed at Hootie Hoot for Thanksgiving with 3 generations. My in-laws, father, sister, and family of 4, including a 12 and 14-year-old. The house is even better than the pictures, and the community is fantastic. There is a heated community pool that my father enjoyed walking in each morning. My girls were in the ocean as we had a warm week. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed (and hadn't bought or brought) to make preparing Thanksgiving just like I was in my own kitchen at home. Thank you!! This trip was a memory maker. But when we arrived, it was in the den pointed at the INSIDE STEPS AS well as the steps upstairs. Creepy. The place was NOT clean. The pots and pans were old and stained. The light did not work above the stove, the microwave was rusty And filthy, most TVs did not work, pill wrappers on the floor, lights did not work, remote controls did not work and dish was in and out in den. We never could unlock a closet for essentials with keycode. Will not return.
