This was perfect for a girls weekend getaway. The cabin was nice and cozy with a beautiful view of the lake. Angela was amazing with answering all of my questions and gave us recommendations as well. It was easy to find the location during the day. However, I do not recommend arriving during the night because it is very dark and the sign is not lite so you can easily miss your turn into the cabin. Would definitely like to return with the family during warmer weather to have enjoyed the outdoor amenities offered in the resort. Great spot highly recommend. Only complaint from one of my guests was one of the mattresses in the bedroom from the upper unit should be replaced. She stated it was very uncomfortable to sleep on that mattress.

Short fall weekend stay
Very nice beach area, deck, beautiful view from the deck. We were there a short fall weekend, cold and super windy so didn’t get to enjoy the beach, etc. this cabin is right on the water and a nice big common area in the upper area. Property manager was responsive addressed my a few details that needed taking care of.. we want to try and stay there again in the summer months.

The property manager was not very friendly from the beginning. After that I received the welcome email it said there would be a key and a welcome letter when we got there and there wasn’t. So I called the property manager Josh and he wasn’t professional and seemed annoyed. We eventually found out there’s a code and it’s a welcome binder on the table to the side with the code in it... I just think there’s a very big lack of communication. The deck and stairs were falling apart and the sliding door had a broken handle. They also don’t provide towels or toilet paper which for the price you pay they should. The view was the best part of the stay.

Location is fine. Cabins are cute. We stayed in Cabin 8. Has upstairs & downstairs but they are NOT connected; you have to go outside and re-enter each level. There is no indoor staircase.
The good: Views, fresh air, location
The bad: Lower unit door wouldn't lock, Slider hand locks with stick, laundry is in lower unit so you have to carry soiled clothing from upstairs outside to bottom unit. Upper unit fridge had no pull handle, slider door handle fell off, dead batteries in TV remote, when we opened the slider door to the deck, the entire screen door fell off, bringing your own towels, washcloths, TP, & paper towels, was very inconvenient.
The Worse: King size bed very uncomfortable, like a springy balloon, pretty sure the sheets hadn't been changed. That's a HUGE disgusting failure in my mind. BOTH beds in the upper unit had visible sand between the sheets. The smaller bed also had balled up paper towel remnants along with the sand. The lower unit had "worse" things on the sheets.
We hand swept the floors about a zillion times from all the sand everywhere.. and it was tough keeping up. And we never went on the beach. Sand is just everywhere. There were 2 vacuum cleaners - neither work (no suction). Several lights don't work, bathtub/shower combo VERY slow draining, plan on standing in a couple inches of your own dirty water before you finish showering. I text the prop. manager about the remote not working, the reply was, "It was working yesterday". I bought batteries and replaced them myself.
The ONLY reason we stayed after the above listed conditions was because we had a house fire and were desperate for a place (We only live a couple miles away from this place).
I sincerely hope they fix this place up. It could be very, very nice.

If you like what you see in the pictures, you will love it!
If you like what you see in the pictures of this property, you will be very happy with the property when you arrive! We used both the up and downstairs units. It is very clean (and I am a clean freak), everything worked properly, comfortable beds and had all amenities you will need with the exception of the ones they specified. My husband, two grown children, their spouses and almost two year old enjoyed a fantastic visit reminiscing when our parents lived on Spider Lake. We are already planning our next visit to this property!

My family really enjoyed our stay at this property. There were plenty of activities and we enjoyed it very much. The lake was warm and there is a nice beach area. It is close to Traverse City, so plenty of things to do. This is a resort, so much of the property if common areas shared with other cottages.

I had an amazing time here! I came up with my family for a vacation. There were 11 of us ranging from ages 1-60+.. there was something to do for everyone. We enjoyed laying out/ swimming at the beach, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, cruising around on the lake, and bonfires! Property is very well kept and property manager is very quick with responses and answered all of our questions. We ended up renting one of the pontoons and I would definitely recommend this.. Overall this was a great experience and I would definitely return again!

Great Getaway!
Beautiful location, and good communication with the owners. Absolutely loved the back porch for relaxing with a fantastic lake view. A great location for getting away, while still close
to downtown.

Beautiful Lake Views
What a beautiful view of the lake from our balcony! Our home was very clean and comfortable. Great property manager and Josh was super helpful. Everything you need is right here...boat rentals, beach, campfire area, huge deck by the lake, fishing and just a wonderful place to relax and have family fun. Our unit was the best because it had a private 1 bedroom unit downstairs, complete with its own kitchen and bath. Perfect for extended families. We will definitely return !

Great Up North Get-Away
Great location on Spider Lake! We rented the Bennington pontoon boat for a few days and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was in good working condition and clean. The house we rented right on the lake had a great location and beautiful view. The upper and lower levels were split with separate entrances, which actually ended up working well for us. We put the adults and younger children upstairs, and put our teenage girls and their friends in the lower apartment, where they had their own kitchen, shower, and sleeping arrangements. One key item to note that we did not fully comprehend when we rented is that the location is part of a small resort on the lake with other cabins, which means you have neighbors and share the facilities with them, e.g. kayaks, fire-pit, volley-ball court, etc. Was not a problem for us as we are sociable and talked with folks, but just something to be aware of if privacy and seclusion is a priority for you. All and all it was a great week and we would definitely consider renting this house from Angela and Jason again. Thanks!

Family vacation!
We had 5 adults and one child at the cabin and we had a great time! It was right on the water; the lake was clean, warm, and shallow. We also rented the paddle boards for an afternoon and enjoyed paddling around the lake. There is a nice grocery store only a couple miles away and Traverse City isn’t too far away either with plenty of food and shopping options. I would definitely recommend this spot for families!

Surprise 50th Birthday
We gathered here for my sister’s 50th birthday. Had 8 of us and the set up of two kind of separate units was really nice - allowed for some privacy. The location was great - right on the lake. Close to Traverse City - so easy to drive into town for dinner. Close to many vineyards - so did a wine tour and had some great Michigan wines.

Very great place
The cabin was very nice and clean. The area was rather secluded and made for a relaxing stay. Only a 15-20 minute drive to Traverse city.

Peaceful escape with beautiful views!
My husband and two young boys stayed at the cabin. It was the perfect size for a family vacation and very clean. My boys LOVED the bunk beds. The deck overlooking Spider Lake is beautiful. We were able to eat dinner each night outside on our personal and private deck. Once we put the boys to bed, we enjoyed fun evenings at the campfire with other families staying at the resort.
If you are looking for a comfortable, cozy, and clean place to take your family, this is it!
They are also pet friendly, which is great!! Just make sure to inform them before you arrive.
Definitely recommend!

Beautiful view, awesome accommodations!
The cabin itself is beautiful and maintained well - clean and comfortable! The scenery is gorgeous, Cabin 8 overlooks the lake and it's so peaceful. The grounds contain everything you need for entertainment! From bonfire pit to volleyball, and kayaks and even a pontoon boat!
The area around the resort is nice for quiet walks and Not far away there is a school with an awesome trail to walk as well.
The resort is only 15 minutes away from downtown traverse city, so you have the ability to relax in a quiet, peaceful, beautiful, scenic setting and also take a short drive to all the entertainment in town!
I recommend this resort, hands down.
